I feel like you would use the segment addition postulate before the addition property because it's kind of the base for when you make them equal. Other than that, it makes sense to me. (Seriously though you make this so much easier to learn thank you so much)

Idk if I’m doing it wrong but I paused to try the problem by myself and I did #3 as Common Segment Theorem and I think it works as you just need to define congruent segments in #4.

Hello! I know this is old. But I would like to say that the definition of midpoint in Geometry land states that the point given creates two equal parts. So, the way I would have done that step was AB=BC and DE=EC as the definition of midpoint. Then just substitution steps to finish off the problem.
Also, I understand proofs can be done in different ways, but we get into trouble when we start interpreting definitions and not writing out the full reasons. As in your first proof, just saying addition is not quite good enough. Addition property of equality is the proper writing of that reasoning. Technically the definition of addition is another thing in the world, and those two things are different. So I truly appreciate the videos, they are amazing, just please, if you are going to show students ways to do things, do them without shortcuts so we as teachers have less to try to fix. ❤

How come the first problem and second problem use different statements/reasons and the order is a little different if the format for the problem itself is the same.
I tried to use the same format from the first problem for the second problem and found myself getting different answers from the video.
If I use the same statements and reasons as the first problem for the second problem would this be considered correct?
But how to know on when and where you should put the Statements and Reasons? I keep getting a failing score mostly because of the incorrect placement that I don't know on how to perfect.

this is only good if u need a refresher and u already know how to do it. My teacher doesnt teach very well. Hes doing what this guy did. Just going through it and if u got it wrong then u got it wrong so i have no idea what to do. So much of this is out of order and this whole thing feels like you can only be good at this if you have past knowledge or something because how am i supposed to know what goes in the middle of something. I want to be able to just skip everything but theres so many other steps in the middle of it and i feel like u can only get the stuff in the middle if u think a certain way. not something you can be taught. So im lost. no one is actually teaching from scratch. maybe you guys are and i just have a strange way of looking at it. but this is not math. this is the only time ive had to just spit ball my way through a subject.
