The problem is that they added the battle theme of XC2 for the last fight of her ascension quest, so it's in the game. Would've been cool if they did it.
Imagine if the hero for Wave 3 is one of Keves and either Time to fight (XC1) or Mechanical rhythm plays. (Let's go crazy, why not Tragic decision or Zanza the divine)

I wish Ino had special dialogue when you go to the room Nia was hanging out in. During Xenoblade 2, Poppi was able to detect and find Lila because they are both artificial blades so Poppi could detect Lila's ether furnace. Since we see that Poppi is in the furnace looking thing in Nia's room and she has dialogue saying she's back when you take her there (seemingly referring to Poppi), it would've been nice if Ino said something even as simple as "huh, I detect an unknown presence" when you take her there as a reference to xenoblade 2's story and Poppi's presence.
I think the only reason they didn't do that is because you can get Ino before every finishing the story and this would spoil the very cute twist of poppi jumping out in the credits

@@maagic2031 Given its a dlc and she wouldn't go straight up "OMG ITS POPPI" I think it would be fine. It would just be a reference the player would be left to interpret and could mean anything if vague enough including the possibility of an entirely new artificial blade.

notice how Ino looks very advanced (even more so than QTpie) compared to the regular poppi, anyway (regular poppi is like "steam engine" level of technology, Ino's like a cyborg)
the heroes rarely do (or say) anything significant outside of their own quests, it's a shame, really :/ (there isn't eough hero to hero interactions, even NPC reactions)

Honestly since he is the only ned character we know for sure has worked on origin he is no joke like second in term of how impactful he is to the series' events just behind Klaus. Also Z probably counts as some weird accidental brother of Poppi.
@@ghirahimlefabuleux8984 I’d say Shulk is second, because not only did he also most likely work on Origin (if Tora is still alive then it’s reasonable to assume that Shulk is), but Shulk also worked on the replica Monados, and got one of the worlds into the state it needs to be in for Origin to even be a possibility in the first place. Rex did the same for the other world, so I’d say even he’s above Tora in importance.

It makes perfect sense to me that the Nopon and their relationships are on the same level, to Agnian/Kevesi soldiers, as wild animals like the Armu. We see Noah realise that little Armu grow up into big Armu over time, and even if an Armu learns to talk, you aren't going to suddenly realise you're supposed to be like the weird dinosaur cow unless somebody gives you reason to think otherwise.
18:15 the things that convince me that Ino was built or at least activated in Aionios is that she never mentions anything about having been in another world, and all the knowledge she has of Blades and Drivers seem like things she was told about by Oosoo rather than things she experienced. Plus, him telling her to not associate with humans wouldn't have made sense in Alrest.
As for her having lost power in the past, I figured it was in a previous battle with the Nopon Eater that left her damaged.

Yeah, this makes sense to me, which means Ino wouldn't exisit post-game, and I'm fine with that tbh. I don't hate Ino ot anything, but I can take her or leave her. She's definitely my least favorite hero thus far. Glad we got another defender though.

yeah, I think she was build in Aionios... there's plenty of "idiosyncratic" (or how to call it) stuff... could just be nothing (localisation, narrative and ludonarrative, writing, story telling stuff), or it could mean that it's sub/unconscious - like things from the bionis/mechonis world, and things from Alrest... that the characters shouldn't/couldn't know, but somehow they do
compared to regular poppi, Ino seems far more advanced (maybe even more than "cutiepie"), like Poppi is a like a "steam engine" level of technology, while Ino is a sci-fi cyborg (she's fascinating... She's also reminiscent of Emeralda from Xenogears, even has green hair and says "Really? Really truly?" - and is an artificial life form, Emeralda is nanotechnology - a nanomachine colony... also: she has two forms: child and adult/mature/older... Too bad Ino's story is pretty much complete, imagine she had a second form or a transformation - to me, she looks unfinished, like a "skeleton" without the outer plating)

Fun fact: Ino is the only character in XC3 that has her blades visible sheathed on her back outside of combat, just like playable characters on XC2 had their weapons always visible. I thought it was a nice little touch.
I like how Ino's design is heavily based on Pyra. Her swords look like Pyra's shoulder tails and she shares her design colours (green and red most prominently with a few golden accents) as well as the black part of Pyra's half of Aion.

When I initially saw the silhouette I thought pyra was going to be the wave 1 hero
If you take Ino out of the party and then talk to her at the caravan, she mentions her trust going up thousands of points because you talk to her. Clever.
My takeaway from this video: Nopon know what sex is and refuse to tell soldiers of Keves and Agnus
I think they made another little funny reference with the cutscene of them interacting with the challenge mode portal : both Lanz and Riku get curious and investigate it, leading to the party getting teleported, and funnily enough, it was both Reyn and Tora in XC1 and XC2 that approached the portal first in their own game.
It might not be intentional, but I figured it was a neat ref (although they probably should've picked Manana instead of Riku since she's from Agnus, fitting Tora more)
Running gag
Three points to make about things:
- I always saw Mio's red-hair braid as a reference to Miyabi, not necessarily her connection to Noah, as her former off-seer partner has a red knot of string (albeit similar to those in the rest of the Agnus off-seer design, and in Nia's outfits in both XC2 and XC3) in the same place in her hair. Also, Mio didn't have her braid in her flashbacks including upto the end of the Colony Omega incident, making it likely Mio took up the practice after the loss of Miyabi to either honour her directly or as the embodiment of the off-seer concept.
- There is another direct reference to romance/marriage before the chapter 5 reveal aside from the one in this DLC, as the Tirkin alliance fail-able quest for Colony Tau has you run into a Tirkin bride and groom to be, while the Tirking (likely father of the bride) disapproves of their union.
- Also in colony Tau are the 3 Nopon "stack" (from colony 30 I believe?) who are listed as brothers, and the NPC nopon mechanic in Colony 9 reluctantly admits to being their sister if you talk to her after you meet them. In this case though, you have to free both Tau and 9 from the flame-clock so restrictions / taboos on revealing such details to soldiers probably have little weight, and the soldiers are free to be curious about these things they normally don't think about.
wrt reproduction, Z probably doesn't give a shit about nopon breeding because I doubt they even consider nopon to be people. they only seem to care about keves and agnus breeding, which is probably why they stopped cloning only Homs/Ardanians/Leftherians after the City made a bunch of babies, to make the breeding harder.
the moebius wouldn't risk having the nopon to "spoil" these informations to the soldiers, anyway... I mean, they're really dumb (or arrogant?) as a villain group (like Team Rocket levels of dumb)... they'd wipe them out (as they do everyone who'd threaten their "forever now" thing)... Maybe the nopon are "untouchable" by the moebius? Then again, they either know more than they'd admit (like Riku), or they're oblivious (Manana), but they don't have irises, or the 10 term limit like most of everyon else (sans the lost numbers)... They're really weird (or "sus"), really really weird.
@@ArinJager1 I think the Nopon made Mobius a deal that they wouldn’t interfere with their endless now world in exchange for not being affected by the irises and the flame clocks, so they were free to profit Gs from the affair. That or Mobius is just scared of the nopon revolution and they’re the ones who made the deal. Remember what X said? “I thought nopon weren’t supposed to interfere? I guess we were wrong about you.”
It is also to note that The Archsage of definitive edition summons you to a tomb just like the one on Bionis Shoulder.
I believe that Nopon are a species brought on by the conduit as a sort of seeding the universe or colonization. The Conduit might as well be an ark made by Nopon.
I want the next game protagonist to be a Nopon
One funny theory I have is that maybe the reason the nopon caravans have so much freedom is because Z he's afraid of the nopon Arcsage.

Ngl when I was doing her Ascension Quest, at first I totally thought that the Nopon Eater’s threat was entirely made up as a scheme to get us to collect materials for their drugs, lol
or as a plot to get rid of Ino, because she's too eager, and the nopon don't really need her protection, but play along, anyway (like, "get rid of" not to kill her, just so she'd go away, at least for a while, anyway)
So I want to note something, Ino also has a small reference to 7 from Xenoblade 1. The weapons she use match the twin blades that 7 uses. In fact, when using Noponic Champion, Noah as a similar battle stance as 7.
Honestly this makes sense since Noah's class references Shulk, Ashera/dunban, Melia with uh Melia, now 7 with ino. Idk how many of XC2 cast is referenced with moves/weapons but I can see this being a nod to XC1.

Great video, Ino's Quest was a great callback to XC2. In regards to Consul A, Ik they do exist(bc of Irma's list), but I still struggle to see how they would be portrayed in a prequel about the Founders(and is never replaced if killed), or how they would affect the main game. I'm more inclined to believe Consul A is "Aionios", rather than a certain missing character from XC1.
For people who were surprised that Noah became Ino’s Driver, remember that she’s mostly red and Noah’s signature color is red.
I mean as an artificial blade she can probably resonate with anyone. Same as how Poppi could resonate with Tora despite him having no potential to be a driver.

The moment that the Xenoblade 2 fight theme started was the moment I heard "Don't forget me." and "Think you can take me?".
So what I'm getting here, Tora is a more vital character than we gave him credit for. Yeah he's kinda weird and a tad annoying but the guy literally had a major hand in creating Origin, Poppi: a ridiculously powerful blade, and most likely spawning the little devil that made Ino

The other option for Ino saying Drivers and Blades WERE one in body and soul is because Drivers and Blades aren't really a thing anymore, but I like your idea as well!
Nopon being enlightened creatures or ones from a higher plane of existence is something I never knew I wanted from overall Xenoblade lore. I unironically hope they do it in the future, lol.

Sadly, only 6 Ouroboros at a time. What a shame. They can't even swap pairs like Noah with Sena or Taion for example.

@@arminarlelt7471 yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but then I realized that if you had I dunno... Noah and Sena, you'd essentially get the same Ouroboros forms as you already have with Noah-Mio and Sena-Lanz... It has to be him (animus) and her (anima), and it has to be one kevesi and one agnian, sena-taion wouldn't work, sadly... I also thought they (all six) would form a "megazord" in the final boss battle, but nah, they didn't... I mean, Nia and Melia did have a "zord" of their own (the castles transforming was pretty dope, you can tell it's made in japan, lol... even the Noah-dominant ouroboros looks like a kamen rider)
@@ArinJager1 I mean story wise they could keep it that way, but gameplay wise if you want to combine Noah's form with Sena's or Taion, to switch fast into both and get some combos off would be a good choice design wise.
Just keep the Agnian/Kevesi pair thing. So for example, Taion with Noah, Mio with Lanz and Sena with Eunie. Or Noah with Sena, Lanz with Taion and Mio with Eunie.
I know it would require more animations for chain attacks but that's the only thing that's really stopping from doing it in my opinion.
I really hope we get to fight the Ouroboros of Shulk and Rex as a boss
about the comunication of nopon, there is a quest you get at the beggining of the game that includes a nopon caravan where you have to collect diffrent types of stones (I think its red blue and green) and later its shown that these stones were used to see how close the nopon caravans want to be to the human so there is a bit of comunication between them before the DLC
Riku is 100% from Aionios. Just the fact that he has no idea Nopon can fight in the main story has to mean he is not from Bionis, since Nopon fighting there isn't something unusual
regarding him saying that he's not helping because he doesn't have time, it could also be a pride thing, as he is a very prideful Nopon!
I've had the theory of Poppi becoming basically human or at least gaining a soul by the end of XC2. I like to think her Driver and Blade bond with Tora allowed for this. Poppi's voice becomes more human in the way she speaks and the actual tone of her voice as well as crying actual tears by the end. Perhaps that is how Poppi and maybe Ino could be stored in Origin due to gaining souls and being reborn after the collision. Obviously however, this is just a personal theory with lots of holes in it.
Since they're Artificial Blades, they probably don't need to be stored in Origin at all, they'd be able to survive and just use Ether to recover.
like she went all pinocchio and become a real girl? no need, she already was more human than most, regardless of not being one (and blades ARE human, well, the core crystal ones, anyway... why exclude artificial blades, right?)

I mean, it's probably story gameplay segregation, poppy qtpi was probably made, and in canon Ino is stronger, even if gameplay wise she's lackluster.
Or is every time a party member is bad in gameplay canon suddenly? The xenosaga cast really fluctuates between games, didn't know that was also a story thing. And she is supposed to be weakened before the quest.
Let's also not forget the combat prowess that Sharla, Nia/Dromarch, Eunie, and Taion all show, when in gameplay they are support characters and don't do much damage at all. I agree with you that gameplay effectiveness does not directly translate into canon power.
I do think this dlc actually explains how Blades in 3 work for Ouroboros. They can probably access the data of the people resting in Origin and can essentially become their driver. Kinda crazy

I think it's worth to mention that after Noah and Ino killed the bird, Ino gets close to Noah and stares at him a long time and then Noah says "Victory is ours", right after that, in the next scene, you can see the rest of the party, and Mio looks like she is a bit jealous/upset of Ino and Noah bonding as Blade and Driver (looks like she telling Sena and Lanz about it)
I just love how when Noah scans Ino's icon and transforms his clothes (and obtains her weapons), Ino's like: (°O°)
i think a cool and interesting video would be analyzing all the Agnus-blooded heroes from their arts to see what elements they'd be from 2's world blade mechanics

I don't know if you missed it but they talk about the "fabled" HD cylinder as if they knew about this thing that Ino CLEARLY brought with her from Alrest. So I thought that was interesting.
And I have to disagree passionately with the idea that Ino sees Noah as a brother/father figure. She says so herself that she sees him as Masterpon who she is metaphysically tied to for the remainder of her and his life. It is a bond that is specifically not familial. So her mimicking him is an indication of her connection to him, much like Pandoria was with Zeke early on in XC2.

I love that Sunny sounds like he's a 50 a day smoker. Probably partaking in his own pollen orbs too much.
If Nopon are reproducing normally, it implies that when the worlds merge back together at the end of the game the same thing happens to them as to people from the City - they poof out of existence, possibly waiting to be reborn many generations down the line, never having been stored in Origin. With that in mind it makes sense why Manana's VA wouldn't have been called back - if the expansion takes place post-ending she may simply not exist. Logically Riku should be the same way, but I get the feeling there's more to him than meets the eye and he'll somehow still be around.

My favorite part about Ino is how Mio has D rank compatibility with the class. I love this because she's so jealous of her closeness to Noah that she refuses to use a class that behaves so similar to her own class. Tgat being a dual wielding Agnian style dodge tank.
31:36 it’s not a copy. It’s the only Lucky Seven we know exists. We see N leave it behind when he dies in the forest in front of his son. We know a person’s Blade can change to suit their preferences (and, between Taion, Eunie, and Sena in flashbacks, that changing roles and weapons is not an Ouroboros-exclusive power). Therefore, N changed his Blade to include a Replica Lucky Seven that is nowhere near as sharp. The real Lucky Seven was then presumably repainted a lighter silver before being passed down to Riku.
X and Z seem to think it's still useful as the Sword of Origin, so they keep N around even after he breaks down from M's death. Melia outright tells you it's just a gimmick, that the real power comes from the wielder. Riku also says it changes form and that it being a sword "isn't important." That, and what Noah and Mio are able to do with it while interlinked make me think it's something like a Monado.
I just realized: N’s sword is a Replica Replica Monado.
Harry on stream mentioned that he recorded, presumably, a majority of the va in earlyish 2021. I would assume this dlc for this and the subsequent ones were recorded later 2021 to early 2022 when they had planned out the final DLC content, so I assume some of the voices might sound a little different but I didnt notice much of a one in this update

We already knew that the Nopon caravan had some sort of structure and communication because of the Nopon register quest, where they decide on their future relationship to humans through a poll. They wouldn't need that if every group would make big decisions on their own.

It was not until now that I now know nopon arch sage is actually voiced by Addam Howden, the voice of Shulk, he sounds so different as a nopon, he clearly did a good job voicing a nopon. I knew in japanese nopon arch sage was voiced by Z voice actor, but never imagined Shulk's voice would be the same as nopon arch sage lol

One tiny detail I didn't notice until I got the DLC and got the swim suits for everyone: Taion has a core crystal in his chest. I always thought Agnus had regular humans/homs like Keves, but I guess every single human-like character you see in Agnus is actually a blade/flesh eater. Which makes so much more sense with the lore that Keves needs Power Frames to keep up with Agnus.
It was said in a piece of dialogue somewhere that everyone from Agnus had a core crystal, but having the more froward visual confirmation is much better then having to point people towards a one-off piece of dialogue.

Hm, this was a very interesting Video for an interesting DLC, kind of wish we could’ve gotten more for Ino’s Origin, but oh well.

I'm pretty sure they don't actively have to try to get the main actors back for new pieces of content because it's mostly likely in their contracts to record for main game and dlc stuff.

Yea, since Consul A isn't the Nopon Archesage, i'm guessing Consul A is MOST LIKELY Alvis. And that he will either be an important ally or the guy actually pulling the strings throughout the whole adventure.

A is potentially also Z since that would be a biblical reference (Alpha and Omega, the first and last letter of the alphabet, being a reference to God) to the same thing Deus was a reference to and Z is yet another partially Deus-like antagonist.

This theory of "Consul A is Alvis" is so ridiculous in my opinion, not everything needs to be a fanservice that doesn't even makes sense
For me Consul A should be just Z's "Architect" counterpart (Like Z is the evil one like Zanza and A more of a flawed god or Aionios )
If ino is mirrored by xeno 2 then the other hero would mirror xeno 1.
so is the archsage more powerful than Zanza, Malos, Amalthus, Jin, and Z, since he just barges into their worlds

It never occured to me that Ino might exist in the real world because Poppi was brought to Aionios. It would be really cool to see her again if the DLC takes place after the main game!
Nopon and Moebius made a non-aggression pact, not because Nopons were scared of Moebius, but because Moebius were scared of Nopons. If they managed to make lucky seven, origin, and artificial blades, then they can easily take out moebius.

@@seankock7649 ...huh. I just assumed that the Halfsage was a different Nopon entirely. So much so that I can't mentally visualize him, and as such have no memory of what his fur color was. For the sake of this theory, I'll just assume that he was the darkest shade of yellow on the timeline, and double check when I am NOT suffering from Strep Throat and related exhaustion.

Based on the very rough datamined design of the new hero I'm going to guess that she is somehow related to Moebius and is not either Keves or Agnus. She doesn't appear to have a core crystal so she's not a blade or artificial like Ino. We have 2 Moebius heroes already so I think a 3rd would be really cool and perhaps this hero's quest will be at the very end of the game and not early like Ino's. Maybe she's even a Keves and Agnus Hybrid based on the very rough colours used in the unfinished design. She doesn't seem to be referencing anything from Xenoblade 1and the closest thing I can compare her to is Meyneth/Vanea and even then that's a huge stretch. But given then Ino's quest was pretty much a walk down memory lane for Xenoblade 2... then it only makes sense that this new hero will do the same for Xenoblade 1.... I mean it obviously doesn't have to at all but it is likely the design is ridiculously unfinished and that's why we can't pinpoint any Xenoblade 1 stuff.

No Consul A in the next hero quest meaning they'll appear in the story DLC and it will be a prequel seems like a bit of a leap.
Yeah, its definitely possible that they just don't plan to ever reveal A at all. Maybe A was just some unimportant nobody who we will never see.

Noah saying "you only live once" might make sense if you're playing through the game with DLC from the beginning and find Ino early in Chapter 3.
It is slightly suspect if you were anywhere past the end of Chapter 4 and downright inexplicable if you're beyond the start of Chapter 6 when the DLC released.

I don't know, I've always considered things like the archsage and the fact that Shulk, Fiora and Elma appears in the land of challenge in Xeno 2 as pure non-canon fanservice (even in a quest in Xeno 2 in which Shulk, KOS-MOS and Elma are reunited it is clearly stated that "maybe someone just wanted to see them all together")

I like to think that somehow the dot falling on the reunited worlds at the end of future redeemed is actually the white whale from Xenoblade X. That would even kind of explain what's "something about this planet" (although I've heard that someone thinks it's more related to Xenosaga than Xeno X, which I still have to play)
It's possible she means the strongest Artificial Blade currently existing, because she'd have no way of knowing that Poppi is still alive and is being stored in Nia's Keep. I do think it's more likely she's just embellishing her strength, though.
My headcanon is that Z was saving the Mobius A slot for Ashera.
(think about it, there's already an empty S slot for most of the game, another vacant position isn't out of the question)
