    King St. Louis IX is the archetype for a Christian monarch. His words of wisdom are still to this day gems which any could be improved by heeding their guidance.

    I was just in France. Visited Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle in Paris. It was... wonderful. To be there and think of this man and how synonymous they were with his life, his faith, is... deeply edifying.

    @realcrusadeshistory What do you think of the perceived idea of conquering Egypt, which the crusaders had adopted following the Third Crusade? Was it a mistake? Would resources put into the efforts like the 5th and 7th Crusades have been better spent into recapturing Jerusalem and strengthening the defenses of the Outremere?
