I fell in love with your dad's bike as soon as I clocked her all those years ago, alas it was never to be, although i've still got the mag to remind me of her. What a lovely tribute.
I have a BSA B44 Cheney Victor that I bought when I was 15, It has a billet clutch that sorted that issue as you put in another 4 clutch plates. Originally you needed to use both hands on the start line, then little more than one finger with the billet clutch fitted. I am now 67 and still waiting to rebuild it when I retire. I think it was an ex-ISDT bike from the early 70's. It had a strange electrics that needed replacing too.
Rebuilding a B50 myself at the moment, I must say your's is a very special and very good looking bike. Like the colors! Looks like an open pipe, but the sound seems actually deeper and quiter as the original lozenge silencer the B50 came with.
It is discretely baffled to give the look of an open pipe! It wasn’t horrific but certainly quite brash before. No way i could have motovlogged on it before. Thanks for your kind words!
Great job on the bike. What magazine is your Dad‘s bike in, year and month also I would like to look for it. How is the vibration on your machine? I have a B50 1971 SS that came with CCM badges on the tank and it is a bit tricked out. Mine vibrates like crazy. It hurts my teeth I’m thinking a thicker seat might help. Thank you I enjoy your channel.
That’s great to hear thank you so much. The feature was in the May 1978 edition of BIKE magazine (uk). Mine is really pretty good for vibes. I’d hazard to guess the balance factor on your crank is as per BSA specs. PES is a brilliant company who actually asked my expected cruise speed/style of riding to set the balance factor to tailor the characteristics.
Its the boyer blue box digital ignition kit, has to be fitted with there digital specific coil too. Has made a world of difference... the low speed advance is bang on for kicking too!
I remember reading that article many years ago an became obsessed with ccms from then onwards , lovely bike🙂👍
Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated, i can never get enough of riding this bike. Worth every second of effort!!

That sounds like a fantastic machine.... wouldn't mind a build like that if we had time ;P
Very nice looking bike… I remember the article in Bike magazine = made me lust after a B50 back then but never could get one..!
Thank for commenting… glad you like it, definitely my most prized possession! Hoping to get some good miles on it this year too!
Beautiful 🤩 a credit to your mechanical skill keep up the good work
Lovely looking bike, it looks like an excellent restoration and specification is impressive, love the recycled Mini badges!
Thanks! Yeah, it took considerable effort to get there but its great knowing there isn't another one like it out there...

Just wondering which ignition system you used?
