      I would in a heartbeat but my shed is now full (and my wallet empty!)

    Nice bike! I remember a motorcross event mid seventies where one 4-stroke dominated all the 2-strokes! Not only performance wise but also because of the very distinct exhaust note 😀…. it was a CCM with a B50 engine!!

      I believe the rider was John Banks, riding a Cheney BSA.
      I saw him race at the Carlsbad Grand Prix agsinst Roger De Coster and Garret Wolsink (won the race).
      He was holding his own until dropping out of the race.
      Can't remember if it was due to mechanical issues or him being under the weather....that was almost 50yrs ago!
      Never the less, it was an extremely exciting race!
      Suzuki was the bike to beat back then.

      Saw John Banks race the B50 at a Trans-AMA at Saddleback Park. Could hear that Thumper all the way around the track amongst the two strokes. I've wanted one ever since.

    My 72 B50mx came with a factory 932 Amal ported head it was a beast but could overheat in 100f temps LOL! Those are correct side covers too.

    Bought a 73 leftover in 76 at 16. I do not recall how many times I almost killed myself on it.

    What forks do you have on this beast? Building a 69 441 motocrosser

      These are the standard BSA forks, but some people fitted Cerani forks.

    How many hp does a B50 like this make?

    • @coxy1504
      @coxy1504 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much by today's standard, about 35 BHP, but is usuable power and has tremendous torque

    Sorry, maye, but I gave you a "thumbs down" for not taking the time to show us the proper starting procedure for your beautifully restored thumper. Did you keep the ignition system stock or upgraded it? What about any other changes, like suspension, etc. Please re-cut this with a cold start, and full details of your build process. Turn my thumbs-down into a thumbs-up!
