I've been through the PC the flex and just got the Rupes 15 for Christmas. I can't see myself going back! I love the balance and performance of the rupes.
The only time we use rotary is to spin dry the pads. Man! U are savage 😂 . Btw I just bought my first ever polishing machine. LHR15ES. No experience what so ever. I can tell you is not as hard as I thought. Machine control is super easy . Love it.
I am a detailer in a dealership I am constantly buffing out acid rain and sap trees from our new vehicles that are stored in a lot surrounded by trees. This upcoming Friday we are going to get a rupes demo from our distributor and he told me to check it out. From the videos I've seen I can't wait to see this product in action in my hands the results looks so much better than the 3m products we are using.
If you want to get the best combinations of pads and polishes to go along with it, please be sure to contact us directly for your purchases. We have been teaching detailers from around the world on how to get the most out of these machines, and can provide far more technical support!
Excellent video Todd - I think you transport yourself to THE leading automotive car care store with these detailed videos. I would dearly love to visit in person. Look forward to the next video

I work at an old car dealership and I work on some expensive vehicles... what I wouldn't do to work in a nice clean private shop like this in Florida lol
Hi Todd! I just want to clarify something as I had a hard time trying to see the M8 washer from the video. But it’s just a standard M8 washer, correct? When people show the washer mod, I normally see an unspecified washer grinder down. Is the M8 washer in the video grinded down or a complete circle? Thanks in advance.
Standard washer. If anybody is trying to say that it takes a "special" or "modified" washer, they're selling you snake oil. It does not matter one bit.
ESOTERIC the washer mod by Kevin Brown is supposed to help the backing plate spin better. It doesn’t rotate freely when machine is off but with washer mod in, that little gap helps
@@briandraper7630 A washer is a washer is a washer. All it does is space the backing plate so it doesn't touch the "anti-spin" shroud. You can either use one that you already have in your toolbox, or pay to use one that is "special-made"...they will function exactly the same.
Very useful video. I have the 15 and am very pleased with it. How often should I lubricate the backing plate and what sort of product would be best to lubricate with ?
nice video and i totally agree. i have all the Rupes polishers and Flex pe 14-2 which is mostly a pad dryer 😎 i also agree with the speeds 4 with 21 mk2 and 4.5 with 15 mk2. Im still waiting kamikaze beast video 🤗
Hi I hav a Rupes LH 21 machine.. In very good condition.. Only problem is it's running on a single speed with no other buttons to adjust speed though..?
Thats what I was thinking! Still have not gotten one due to the back and forth between the two. But makes sense to buy the 21 and buy the 5" backing plate and pads!
Todd are you planing to do any HOW TO videos and another question, do you use any steam machines in your workshop and if, what for? Thanks for videos, I can't wait to post more of them, they are realy useful and i learnt a lot from them!!
Thanks, and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Yes, we're going to be working in some more how-to videos in the near future once we've gone through all of our products. Subscribe, and stay tuned!
Is it possible to learn the skill by tutorial & working slowly one a personal vehicle or is this asking for trouble/disappointment? The vehicle is not in top shape nor does it's value really present a huge gamble but I'd rather not completely trash it either.
Not necessarily...just depends on your wants and needs. In the shop we use the 15 most of the time, but if you're a detailer that works on big flat surfaces a lot, then you may want to go with the 21. "Pad stall" is generally a technique issue, and not a machine issue.
Hi Todd, what do you have to say about the Rupes BigFoot Mille LK900E. Is this one stronger than LHR21/15? I'm looking to buy a new machine and I saw this one at Instagram and nothing better to ask the Master Chief. Do you have some experience with this machine or it kind of new stuff?
We have been selling them and using them for about 4 years now. Other than one unit with a bearing that went bad, the only things we've seen has been normal wear items like brushes and cords. They are incredibly reliable!
Todd increrible vídeo! I have 21, This info is perfect,Because is not necessarey to buy another machine. Work with 5” on rupes 21,i will get the same results like 15? Thanks.
Great video. I see you mention a better cut with the 21. I own a 15. Am I sol when I need more cut or will it just take longer to polish out such defects?
In most cases, no. In extreme cases, you may find with the 15 you have to go back over a small remnant, whereas the 21 might clear it all in just one polishing set.
Thoughts on pad type? Mike Phillips only advocates for rupes pads as a system. I was going to go with the thin lake country. Any issues you've seen with using other pads?
The machine and pads from Rupes are all balanced to work together, but having said that, you can still use others if you wish. The 3 pads that we use at least 95% of the time are the Meg's MF Cutting Disc for compounding, and the Rupes Yellow and White pads for either one-steps or finish polishing.
Nice video Todd, i was wondering if you had any info on the new rupes forced rotation version? Im still happy with my LHR75ES but sold my LHR15ES MK1. Im waiting to see what this new forced rotation one is like.
No information as of yet. I wouldn't hold out unless you particularly like a forced rotation machine. Most people do not like the action / control of a forced rotation, including myself.
Thanks Kevin. If I'm not mistaken, the replacement housing (top / front) of the Mark II comes with this piece, and should fit exactly the same as the Mark I.
Thanks for info Todd, I have the 21 and both backing pads, one thing to be aware of, and please correct me if Im wrong but when using a 5.5 pad on a 21, which was designed for a 6.5 pad, you will get less area covered because of the smaller 5.5 pad, thanks again for all the great videos, hope to be in one of your classes in the future, Jose
Hi Todd, have you used the Flex polishers as well? What is your opinion of them as compared with the Rupes? The new Flex XFE-7 150 looks promising. Thanks
ESOTERIC I’ve heard that but you can only angle your wrist so many directions, to say it’s a technique issue would be incorrect. I’ve tilted, angled and stood on my head but the slightest angle make me reach for my 3 inch... Would the washer mod help at all or is it a waste of time?

ESOTERIC I appreciate the response, I’m able to get it to spin but the angle I’m holding it seems incorrect but it’s working lol, idk just odd and not what I expected from the tool
Pressure is indeed needed to gain optimal results. Compounding requires the most pressure, then it drops down a little for one-step polishing, then down yet again for finish polishing.
