Just put mine together today and gave it a run. Very happy with it. Had 2 pieces I had to remove and pick a new angle to split but is unstoppable. Lets see how long it last.
Hi Ling I still have mine to this day. I only use it couple of times in a year but give it a really good work out when I do. It's still as good today as when I first brought all those years ago. I don't think you will be disappointed in with your purchase. Happy splitting 💪🪓
Hi Douglas log splitter is going super strong as good as the 1st day I used it. For the price it is definitely worth every cent. small amount of assembly plus have to buy oil. 👌👍👍🤙
That's pretty impressive for an electric over hydraulic 20T. I'm thinking of getting the 40 T vertical/Horizontal version of the Baumer. I have a small truck load of cut trunk pieces with a diameter of 560mm cut to around 150mm thick. My electric 5T was a miserable fail so now I am seriously contemplating getting the big dog machine to smash them out. I wonder if it will split the medallion pieces through the width rather than the traditional span though. What do you reckon ? Instead of going through the grain, have you ever tried that machine across the grain and see if it can bust through ?
Hi Tony no I haven't tried splitting across the grain with mine. I think it would make a mess of the timber and I would lose material to burn. I haven't looked at the 40t one as this one handles what I need to do. all the best with your purchase if you get it. 👍
Thanks for the really useful video. I have just bought one of these and set it up. It looks great but the manual says to loosen a bleed screw. I can't find a bleed screw! Does your have one? Where is it located? Cheers, Ian
Hi Ian I'm not sure what bleed screw you are referring to as I haven't done that on mine 🤔 maybe I should go and read my manual. I'm guessing it must be to do with the hydrolic pressure system. I haven't had to do anything to mine since I brought it. I only give mine a good hard work out for a day or 2 once a year and it's still going strong. cheers and happy splitting 🪓 chris
G,Day mate, That's an impressive video "splitting that big Bertha" I'm considering purchasing the exact same 20T Electric Splitter (upgrading from my 8T Electric) your video is a bit over a year old now so have you had any "Problems/issues" with this Splitter over this Time, e.g. Seals leaking etc.
Patrick1977 Alvin Hi Patrick no problems with splitter at all.used it at the start of this season after sitting idel since last year. I sprayed splitter wedge and plates with wd40 so it didn't rust. it's a great unit for the price very happy with it. the wedge and backing plate are very solid. haven't done iron bark with it but everything I have split with no problems. don't think you will have any problems up grading to this model.👍🍻
Hi Richard if you can get the same one as I have for that price I doubt you will disappointed with your purchase. Mine is still going strong. Only use it about twice a year to split wood for that season. It's a solid built piece of equipment I still give it 👍👍
Hi all just to let people know who have enquired about my log splitter. for those who are thinking of purchasing this type of splitter I can not fault it. More power than what wood I split haven't been able to stump (😏) it yet. I use mine twice a year for apx 5 to 6 hours each time to cut enough wood for a season of burning. the 20t splitter is still going as good now as when I first posted my video years ago. well worth the the price I paid at the time for it. I give it 👍👍👍 cheers and happy splitting
Hi Mic I paid $900 when I brought it back then so not sure what they are going for now. just to let you know I spent 6hrs ruffly on it 2 weeks ago splitting a couple of seasons worth of hardwood and it didn't miss beat.
