So happy to see a FTIsland reaction, they are my ult kpop band, Hongki has 1 of my favorite voices ever & like someone said in the chat, they were the 1st band put together by a kpop company for that market, they also mentioned that they have a OOR cover, & Taka & Hongki are actually good friends, & you should definitely listen to more, they have a harder side too, which only came out in Japanese releases until they stopped caring if the company wanted them to do softer concepts

I remember their tears during their '14 tour, due to their contracts coming to an end and the uncertainty around whether they would get them renewed since they at this point really wanted to pursue their own music style... And then they renewed with new terms, and these new contracts from '15 gave us masterpices "I will" and "where's the truth?" 💛 They really fought for their music and their sound! 'Pray' from their I will album will forever be one of my favourites. There's so much symbolism in that MV as well. The title track from where's the truth?, "take me now" also has a great MV with a lot of the same themes as Pray, though my favourite track from that album is "out of love". Their latest comeback with "Sage" is also really worth checking out!
@@Rinalouise2870 yeah, I will never understand how Korea is 1 of the only countries where rock is not a genre that's really popular, but yeah, I love both sides of their concepts, but the eras you mentioned are some of my favorites cuz they finally had more freedom, Pray is 1 of my fave Korean tt from them too
I still love FTISLAND… This is one of the band you can appreciate best in a live setting… My FTISLAND Rock Live playlist is more than 6 hours long, and I still listen to all of the songs on a regular basis 🥰

Being the pioneer Idol Band, and growing out of it to become a “real” rock band. It’s insane. It’s no wonder even after the situation that happened (which others might elaborate), they still are able to redeem themselves, and still be the best band they can be. Pretty much, arguably I’d say, they’re the “ONE OK ROCK” of South Korea. Which, also, speaking of…. They are pretty big in Japan as well, and it’s because of which that Hongki was able to become friends with high profile musicians like Taka of ONE OK ROCK, and IKE, formerly of SPYAIR. Taka has co-written a song with them back in 2015, and it’s called “Primavera”.
I agree so much with what you are saying! Tho, I really hope noone elaborates here, and I'm glad you didn't. I think if people want to know, it's all out there on the interwebs for people to look it up themselves. But as you're saying, it's not without a reason that they are able to still keep going. Both musically and as humans, the way they've held their own through it all is wonderfull. And without touching deeper on the topic, I think it should be mentioned that the band as a whole and most of the boys never had to redeem themselves. The problem is gone, the rest were never at fault. I was scared for them for a minute, but I think that's one of the reasons why Sage is so powerful for me, aside from it obviously beeing as great as they always give us.

I agree with the comment section: they're often overlooked (a shame), sound even better live (talented musicians and great harmonies) and their older Japanese songs are much more leaning towards rock. And yes, the Hongki and Taka comparison is spot on. :P

The idea is that for the first years since 2007, their debut year, they did ballads in Korea. After 5 years, they started doing rock. On this song, they show that half ballad half rock. It is from their 10th anniversary album.
Fact: there was a famous actor who loves to sing, told Lee Hongki that "please write songs for human to sing" 😅 because this song is so difficult for other people to sing along 😊

Hello Roscoe, I wanted to recommend you the band Twenty one pilots, they are a great musical duo which make basically any genre you can think of. It is composed by Tyler Joseph the songwriter, producer and singer, he plays ukelele, piano, electric guitar, bass, etc. Then there's Josh Dun who is the drummer who occasionally plays the trumpet. They created a whole storyline within their discography and it is so well done tbh. I won't dig into everything rn cause it is a lot, but if you're interested in checking them out you should do the videos that are part of the storyline: Heavydirtysoul, jumpsuit, Nico and the niners, Levitate, Saturday, The Outside and Overcompensate. BUT before those you gotta watch the "I am Clancy" video which explains everything. Hope to see you react to them. I've been loving your Fujii Kaze reaction by the way.
