    Thanks for answering my question Andrew! I hadn’t read the setup page correctly and was trying to get it to work using the Cam1 and Cam2 modes. Appreciate you taking the time to answer.

    Hi Andrew, really pleased to see the fingers are healing well, and that you have been out flying again, good on ya sport, regard not flying the plane that did the damage, i was the same when the batwing eachine 680) bite happened, never flew it and sold it of

    Good healing. I'm happy that you are healing. I had one finter cut with a quad in my life (no stiches) and then, I went to lighter and lighter (components became lighter, cool) with 2S batteries maximum...

      Smaller lighter and less dangerous, I like that.

    I agree with you, when I've chopped my finger with a mini quad (not just a minor chop), you tend to not want to play with that quad again, very quickly until the finger heals (I still bear the scar).

    Been waiting for the tandem to come out to switch over to 900mhz for longer range stuff. Hopefully get mine before our yearly slope event in may.

    Glad you’re getting the Dragon II on the way mate. I think you’ll like that one. The X20 looks smart too. I still think OpenTX is the OS for me. But. EthOS does look like it’ll be friendlier for new pilots. Glad to hear you’ve been out flying too 🙂

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wonder if the OTX devs will crack the Tandem, that would be nice.

    • @MrD
      @MrD 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewNewton I’m hoping there will be an OpenTX firmware for it. I’ve had a little play with the EthOS simulator, and there are a few things missing that I use in OpenTX. Maybe they’ll get added in the future. But I can see how it would be much nicer for new pilots. There are a couple of things I think are better on EthOS too. Like slow up/down. On OpenTX I believe they’re on the inputs. But with EthOS, it’s on the outputs, so no matter what is controlling that surface, the slow up/down is consistent. But, it’s still OpenTX for me.

    Hi Andrew, glad to hear your injury is healing nicely. I’m just finishing build of that Eagle, cannot wait to try it. Do you remember your Vtail mix for this plane? Or should I simply start with 50:50 and then tune it?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Changed to 80 elevator and 50 rudder, but tune it as you need.

    Andrew - re the H-Wing, did you see my comment about whether you should try vertically taking off at a higher speed & then hit the horizontal flight transition button on the tx ?? Looking at various Chinese videos from the OEM (Swan) I noted they att went vertical at speed & then transitioned. I wonder if when the vertical speed is too slow the anti-stall won't allow horizontal flight as it detects it would commence at too lower a speed.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did see that thanks, but as GizFPV shows you should be able to transition from a hover. I have tried full speed as well with no luck.

      @@AndrewNewton Another question H-Wing video shows first job before flight to insert battery in wing body, without assembling the motor legs and waiting up to 10 (?) minutes to get satellite lock. How do they know when GPS lock is achieved ? Does it bleep? or do you just look at the phone app connected to the tx? I have to admit I am being cowardly and have not tried flying mine - I'm waiting for you, the Oracle, to upload your H-Wing video with all the answers!!

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Number of sats shows on the phone screen, then map moves to your location when home position is locked, and you can switch to Pos Hold mode without getting an error message. I'm re flashing the firmware and parameters to see if that helps mine.

    Hi Andrew,
    Please tell me what MODE you are using and what your channel mapping is?
    I fly AETR and I use ch 1 and ch 5 for ail
    Ch 3 for throt and ch2 for elev, ch 6 for flaps.
    How and Why are you using ch1 and ch2 for AIL???

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which radio and receiver do you have? I use Mode 2 and channel mapping in the Radio Setup is set to AETR. BUT that just sets how a new model is mapped by the radio. I change the channel assignments in the mix page according to the model. For example I use AATERFF for full house gliders, or A+E A-E T for flying wings, or AAT R+E R-E for VTails

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So you are actually using AETRAF not AETR

    Ouch! Bet you're glad you're not a (RH) guitar player. = ] Have accrued my own share of carelessness cuts and wounds with IC props and hobby knives over the years. Been lucky not to sever a nerve looking back. A guitar player with any illusion of bulletproof long discarded, I'm a lot more careful today. Finger started since control line days of the late 1960s. Electric starters only for me now if I ever make a return to IC RC. =/ I'll be sure to be careful in my current EP foray.

    Healing nicely, Andrew? Good. Just think of all the cash you'll save on nail varnish. 💅
    That gets a general-purpose "Yay" from me.
    It was almost a "Hey", but a curious double typo meant that even that appeared as "Hay", and when I went to post it the horse went nuts and tried to bite me; I got scared and had to hide behind the sofa.
    So, er, yay.

    Sorry to bother you, Andrew, I’m still trying to find best cam to film my rc glider from my hat, for around $100.00 +- us. I’m gonna use my stimulus $ when it comes. Favor the run cam 2 4K, but not sure. I see a black cam on your hat. Love your site. Never miss it

      Also consider the Mobius Maxi for about $90 which is what I use. I much prefer that form factor because it can stay permanently attached under a baseball hat brim and people rarely notice it, plus I can check if it's recording just by glancing up. Easy to attach with a couple of bits of wire twisted around the included mounting bracket. I don't know about the Runcam2 4K but typically the audio on Runcams make them useless for a hat-cam, if you're planning on talking that is.
