- Khabib Nurmagomedov is excited for his fight vs. Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi because his father will be able to come from Russia. Khabib says this is about as close to home as he can fight with the flight from Russian only being three hours. Nurmagomedov says Tony Ferguson "deserves" winner of himself vs. Poirier. Khabib does not think a rematch between Tony Ferguson and Donald Cerrone would be interesting as Ferguson beat him easily. Khabib says he is not interested in a rematch with Conor McGregor because it wasn't a close fight and he doesn't deserve a rematch. Khabib wants to fight Georges St-Pierre but he thinks he would be giving too much away by moving up to 170 pounds. Khabib is confident he'll be considered the "best lightweight of all time" if he beats Tony Ferguson and GSP. Khabib says he has a very good business relationship with Dana White but it is not a personal relationship as "they always talk about business." Khabib says Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight boxer right now and it is a very good time for the boxing heavyweight division. Nurmagomedov explains in 2020 he will only want two fight on two cards, just like in 2019. Khabib finishes by saying he hopes there is air conditioning in the arena of UFC 242 as it will be very hot in September.

McGregor is not a bad person, his trash talk was to promote the fight and attempt to get in Khabib's head and make him make mistakes in the octagon. Like when he says deserving Ferguson can either fight in the meantime or wait to fight the winner between him and Poirier, thus not claiming he will be the champ afterwards. So many fighters talking about what they are going to do after they "win" their upcoming fight have lost that upcoming fight. Nurmagomedov is like St. Pierre, always seeing his upcoming opponent as the most dangerous person he could possible face at that moment and thus preparing accordingly.
