The fact that Neville has taken this task upon himself and bothers the workers into submission, it always pleases me when the guys do their part and give the input to the video, it makes such an impact on the final result.
great video Nev, learning all the time, just as we are, makes it all the more worth while thanks Nev, i hope Andrew and company will be giving you a ride in Jane, it not a flight if she can be made ready in time
Great stuff Neville. Thanks for finding out how much ammo was available and how it was split across the boxes. Incredible the amount of rounds the guns could get through in such short bursts. Good to see Jane back on her wheels again. The lads have done such an amazing job to get her to where she is now and I'm sure it won't be too long before she is ready for the busy season ahead. When you think they only had a short window from the end of the previous season to the start of this one and just look at what they have achieved yet again. They are an incredible bunch of lads and well done to all of them for all the time and effort they have put into this program. Thank you as always Neville for all of your valuable videos you bring us each week. Spot on. Looking forward to youyr next update. Best wishes to you and everybody at the centre. Take care. 👍
Hi Neville, Checking in from California keeping up on the task. Thank you Very much for the videos to keep me connected to Blighty! (Ex RAF Armourer here btw) Cheers !
I always look forward to the weekend for another Nev video to drop. I love seeing the project progress as the team does get a lot of stuff done even in a week; learning as they go, fabricating jigs, templates, molds etc. the next Lanc will get done speedy quick 😊
Thankyou Nev for this wonderful video the port wing looks great the lads have done a super job on it.The trailing edge jig looks so much better now well done John.Take care mate and thanks again for all of your videos.
I see a pattern over the years, of y’all re-inventing the assembly procedures in many cases - from an assembly line with thousands of workers, to a boutique shop with individual craftsman. I point to the discussion you captured by Dave, about, “Will see if I can fit the inner (former), and add the outer (flange) in situ.” Wonderful capture.
Another great video bro and some good progress too. The NZ guys have another Mosquito completely restored back in the air after a 70 year gap. NZ2308, there is some Utoob videos of it from this month. Safe travels. Ken.
Yeah I think the one from Dunedin was put in a shed after the war. There was one that was bought for 10 pounds after the war by a farmer as a static play thing for is young son, think that was in the South Island too.
Thank you for the update Neville, I wonder if you could ask the guys if there was ever a plan to try and fit 0.5 brownings into the front or mid upper turrets as well as the rear turret to up arm the Lancaster ?
My word Neville ! There's a terrific amount of work yet to do to have this ready for Easter ? As l would assume that would be the start of the season .? Thanks Neville
What do they do with all the unserviceable parts that have been replaced Neville? I’m sorry as I have asked before but can’t remember if anyone has answered. On one hand if they are scrapped it’s like throwing away the original aircraft but it has to be done I guess they would use the scrap value to help fund the project . Maybe they should sell off some of the parts to collectors , “own an original part of NX611” and turn other pieces into souvenirs? I bought a piece of skin from FM212 which is in Winsor, in Canada.
Great information again Neville. Always look forward to the updates. I have a question for you Neville! Have you heard about any information on the Bomber County Memorial that’s allegedly to rival the Angel of the North for Stature?
The fact that Neville has taken this task upon himself and bothers the workers into submission, it always pleases me when the guys do their part and give the input to the video, it makes such an impact on the final result.

There’s been a fair bit of lateral thinking on that trailing edge section jig! 😁👍

Hi Ken yes ,2 videos I watched of the Mosquito looks better then great. One from Dunedin south Island.

Another great video, thanks Neville. I agree, that former Dave is making looks far too small to get through
It does James.
Thank you for the update Neville, I wonder if you could ask the guys if there was ever a plan to try and fit 0.5 brownings into the front or mid upper turrets as well as the rear turret to up arm the Lancaster ?
I will ask Ade and Andy next time I'm at EK. Cheers Garry
Were you able to photograph the MAINS being retracted while still on the jacks?
Hi Richard, they never tried to retract the wheels. They will have a different undercarriage fitted when she's ready to Fly.
My word Neville ! There's a terrific amount of work yet to do to have this ready for Easter ? As l would assume that would be the start of the season .? Thanks Neville
Hi John, They put the start of the taxi runs back till May 7th.
Amazing work but 7 years ?
That the way it goes gowdsake7103.

Pretty sure they sell scrap parts. I saw a Merlin camshaft for sale in the gift shop!
I believe they have not decided what to do with them yet ,some have been used on the French dona parts
Great information again Neville. Always look forward to the updates. I have a question for you Neville! Have you heard about any information on the Bomber County Memorial that’s allegedly to rival the Angel of the North for Stature?
Oddly enough I saw something about that yesterday. They're raising the last 80K to finish the project.
Only what SC heard. The plinth has been complete for a couple of years on the A46 road just in side the Lincolnshire boundary

Thank you for the info Neville. I will sure and go and have a look. 👍
Brilliant updates. But often the audio is diabolical and hard to work out.
I Malcolm , sorry, it is a problem. I'm still working on it.
Pretty complex task....
Sure is mate.
