Stephen Diskin. A 1st class job being carried out on the aircraft. To see all 3 of the Avro Lancaster's flying together would be sensational

Looking great! I was at Farnborough and RIAT when the Canadian Lancaster visited.....i have some superb footage of the 2 Lancs! They have promised to return when your aircraft flies again so we can hear 12 Merlins on song and THREE Lancasters flying together again👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻. I am an ex RAF aircraft engineer and worked on many restoration projects, i know how much work it is😧

Congratulations on the work you’ve completed so far, that is a huge achievement! I live in Ontario Canada not far from Hamilton and the Canadian Warplane Museum our home of the Lancaster. Several times a year we are treated to a flyover of this magnificent aircraft, I hope you can soon have your Lancaster flying as soon as possible.

I'm 5 years older than NX611. I was weaned on war stories fiction and non fiction (anyone else remember Braddock in the Rover). I was a National Service Air Radar Fitter. It wasn't till seeing the these wonderful reports that I realised how much effort it took to build and keep flying the 8,000 or so Lancasters. 32,000 Merlins, 384,000 pistons, squillions of rivets etc. I have to assume that the erks of 1944 took more care then my contempories did and I can only admire the skill and dedication of the guys rebuilding NX611.
I wish I could afford to contribute and if I win the Euromillions Jane will be high on my list.

Thanks for the brief but concise update. I'd imagine it's pretty surreal at East Kirby , almost ghostly quiet ! But it does make restoration work much more productive and hopefully funding is manageable for now. Those wing tips have been extremely labour intensive and costly! With the turret nearing completion there's quite a bit of "ticking off" towards "Just Jane " taking to the skies! That day can't come soon enough l'm sure. Hope everyone is ok and poor Neville must be chomping at the bit to come back. Well take care and stay safe.

Thank you for the great video, particularly the close-shots. Something I've noticed in this video and later ones dealing with the wing-tips - the Lancaster must have been one tough aircraft. In many areas the rivet edge distance must be on the right on the lower limit of 2d.

Myself and a freind visited EK back in 98/9 2/3 times. At that point the Rivets Appeal was in progress. To not let her fly fruition it proved .
It does seem that every time LAHC 'get there', the authorities with the permit tickets then reassemble the requirements.... And on it goes.
I fully appreciate their safety concerns but, c'mon, it starts to look like they're only concerned with keeping but one 🇬🇧 version up there.
So sad, but keep on keeping on !! (ps: when the two overflew, I'd swear could 'feel' her wanting to complete the trio....!).

Not been inside that Lancaster since it was at R.A.F. Squires gate Blackpool in the eary 70's, found it again at R.A.F. Scampton as gate guardian, tbh i thought she'd been canabalised to keep the BoB Lanc airworthy. The corrosion may be due to the fact it was left out side in salty air? How long for i dont know?.
