OFA is a one-of-a-kind power with MANY unknown facets and a TREMENDOUS amount of energy under its hood. Considering it gets stronger with every pass, that tells us it is a stockpile accumulation of some kind. Which are of course many in number but none as complex. Biggest thing to note is Deku has NO control, and BLASTS THROUGH A MASSIVE ROBOT. But for some reason when you compare, it has NOTHING on All-Might being able to create enough wind to change the weather. So, one has to wonder exactly what did All-Might pass to Deku? Because even THAT is not a simple answer. In fact there is so little about this power that doesn’t have a thousand questions attached. And the more you ask, the more complicated it gets. Also, to explain what happens to Deku when he fires off OFA, the energy is so tremendous when he flexes, he blasts off all the skin on his arm, along with bone fragments, and muscle tears. And while all quirks have downsides to overcome, OFA trumps ALL of them. Would help if Deku had oh, I don’t know, a master that teaches him how to use the same power. And based on how All-Might responded when he saw Deku performing in the test, HE KNEW this was LIKELY at the VERY least. It’s genuinely painful to imagine just how little preparation was done. Uraraka is too sweet for words being willing to put everything into saving the one who saved her, while her whole lifelong dream was on the line. And she was willing to throw it all away for him (or half. Take your pick.) because she took ONE look at his power and knew he could’ve outdone her. But she at no point really brings up his destructive power like everyone else because that honestly doesn't even matter to her. She just wants to know he’s going to be ok. And that is just perfect for a hero. She’s too good. And Deku has never experienced this kind of kindness and support. And that’s…kinda sad. Iida is engine leg man. While he’s…kind of a jerk this episode, and he COMPLETELY misinterpreted Deku’s pure desire to save Uraraka as thinking of other ways to pass. He quickly gets through that. He made that stick up his butt into a third leg to use as a stool to sit on. (But I do have to admit that his power is freaking sweet, and he’s well-disciplined even if short sighted. And it would be hilarious if his glasses actually were for near sightedness. And yes, this show would ABSOLUTELY go that far for details.) Honestly can’t really go into depth of the other MANY characters seen around. There’s a 4th wall breaker staring at every camera and a guy with six arms fused in 3 ways, soooo don’t assume they are just there. But rest assured they do not stay in the background. I do also want to say about the test itself being incredibly smart. People didn’t work together in the test but on-the-fly teamwork is essential for being a hero. You support and help not just civilians but also each other to keep more people and yourself safe. And if you need to be told that rescuing people is a priority as a HERO, there’s something genuinely wrong. And Deku just puts it ALL on the line just to save lives which is what he wants more than anything. He wants people to feel safe when he shows. But the reality is, people are actually often freaked out by out of nowhere genuine selflessness. There’s always some kind of extra goal or ulterior motive assumed at every juncture. You REALLY have to earn such a trust of safety. And whether it’s because there is a lot of jerks with 2 faces out there or what, but this confuses the heck out of the naturally selfless like an empath. (This is more my interpretation as someone who lived near identically to Deku in high school in retrospect.) Also just to sell one last point, this may be a high school, but this is the equivalent of skipping high school and going straight into college to enter UA. For reasons we will get to. The hero occupation has WAYYYY more depth than you would first assume.
