@@KaKa-by1rr I think, to people like me who weren’t very familiar with the creator of the comic or the production of this anime, that was the impression we got. I’ve heard, though, that the creator of the comic doesn’t really like stuff like making the same story twice, so maybe some people saw the writing on the wall.
@@sweet-nessu Have you finished the whole series? I have watched the movie and read the comic and this show is not good. It's the same story, just the change of the MC
I'm pretty sure Neflix kept advertising it as an adaptation of the comic which the creator didn't like. He had said multiple times that the anime was something completely new and different.
I love it as a movie, I love it as a game, I love it as the original comics and after watching this I got to say personally: Scott Pilgrim is a masterpiece. ❤❤❤
Oh hey, I'm glad you guys are reacting to this! I just finished episode 4 and I'm super impressed with what it's done so far - it's such an intelligent, fun way to engage with the original story while treading some new paths. I understand why some people wanted a more direct adaptation, but this new take has been so much more interesting than I expected.
Scott Pilgrim movie is based on a comic of the same name. This anime is not an adaption of the comic. It's its own thing. I'll elaborate a bit more after episode 2. As a fan of comic I am bummed it's not an adaption of it but overall this anime was still great. So I'm pretty torn. Hopefully the author changes his mind and gives us an adaption of the comic.
I thought the same. I would've been happy with just an adaptation of the comics with Edgar Wright's style and flair but I'm also still happy with the fun show that they put together
Same here. I've been waiting for YEARS for a faithful adaptation of the source in animation form. Sad we got this. But happy that it's HQ stuff. But yeah, it's kinda bittersweet.
If you guys haven't read the comics that the movie, game, and show are based on, you definitely should!!! There is so much more content than what the movie has, and a lot of the references in the show have to do with the comics, especially the art style!
i too felt like you that it felt weird, the flow, the lack of snapiness. and i think it was cuz of edgar wright, if you have watched the cornetto trilogy you know that it's edgar wright's trademark. and i too felt it missing on the first episode. also what i think messed the flow was the missing part at the start, cuz here you get dropped in the dream and then with knives watching sex bob-omb for the first time. in the movie you don't get to that for like 10min, and it established the characters, mostly scott, a lot more. that's also why scott feels so much blank on this. but i agree that michael cera gave it more of a personality.
Scott Pilgrim TOOK OFF!
HE IS NO LONGER HERE!
Yeah, the title is really clever.
I really loved how much Chris evans we got in this, he’s so funny as Lucas lee and does really good at the voice work
The original author has said to treat every version of scott pilgrim as its own thing, so keep that in mind ☝️🤓
I'm a little sad because the comics are good and I think they deserve a faithful adaptation, but I really like this show anyways
They HEAVILY promoted this show as being an adaptation, or at least I think that was the big impression it gave off. Very pleasantly surprised.
It was a bait and switch, and it worked really damn well
Lol no it didn't
@@KaKa-by1rr It's subjective like all things

I don't think they ever said adaptation. They said Based on the novels, which is pretty smart, because it's still true.
I liked this focus effect. Made it more interesting to look for me, more dynamic
I agree. It's a unique stylistic choice. Spiderverse does something similar that initially threw me off, as well

This show was such a good ride just finished it, it was different but ngl I liked it more than the movie.
This is my first time experiencing any Scott Pilgrim media and I really enjoyed it. Gonna watch the movie next

@stepb.3223 all we can do is voice our want for an adaption. Especially since this part isn't very newcomer friendly

Wasn't it 8pm at the Rockit in the movie? Maybe 9pm would have made it past Crash & the Boys' drummer's bedtime.
I'm a Korean who enjoys watching this channel. Can you give me Korean subtitles?
