    In the style of karate I used to practice we have something similar to the plow hand, is often used in advance forms. Thanks for this video, master

    I feel for guy's wrists. Maybe a mat would be welcome.

      He’s a capoeira instructor, he’s very used to dropping down and convert into upward kicks.

    That reminds me of Cloudy Hands in Tai Chi.

      Makes a lot of sense considering taijiquan, along with most traditional arts, are mixed martial arts.

      Two arms in circular motion can be found across many different TCMA styles, in Taijiquan it’s called Cloud Hand or Plow Hand(Yun Sho), but in this example, I demonstrated the similar two arms waiving in circular motion but all is driven by the waist. Makes it quite different in biomechanics compare to other styles that has this similar move.

    Hi! 👋
    In my opinion, it's really hard to pull off against a straight punch. A straight punch just happens too quick, you don't have time for that circular hand movement. However in a grappling scenario I'll can easily imagine this technique to get to the inside, lock his arm and push him while you sweep his leg.
    Very cool demonstration tho, keep up the good work! ^^ 🙏

      Thanks! Facing a boxer in his full readiness with a jab, like you said it’d be very hard to execute this move, unless the contact point can be made at the very early point of the punch firing. Then the entire jab’s course can be affected and directed. It CAN happen but it requires lots of practice. But, majority of the TCMA movements were not designed to face a boxer, but in scenarios such as a push or a grab… can be very effective.
      I wish everyone can look at these demos with an open mind like you. You immediately though this would be difficult for boxers but can be effective in wrestling. That is a mindset of a practical fighter.

      @@wutan_nj Thank you! :3 Learning about Martial Arts and exploring them is my passion. I love all of them and I like to watch their techniques, their demonstrations and think about how could you use them in a fight. Being able to see into the techniques and understand them is not easy. That's why I like spending time thinking about it. ^^

      martial arts techniques are not one size fits all and its up to the user to be tactical enough to use the right movement for the time.

    I wonder can this move cross over with the Wing Chun耘手? And this plow hand should be able to add into the Tai Chi and end up with the '斜飛勢'?

    • @wutan_nj
      @wutan_nj  ปีที่แล้ว

      We human only have two arms and two legs, there are only limited number of “movements” we can do. BUT when different mechanics being used to drive these movements, the variation becomes a lot more. And that’s where the fun is! Yun Sho circular waiving movement can be found in WingChun, TaiJi, and many other styles. But WingChun has its own bio mechanics when applying this move and TaiJi as well. The demonstration in this video just shows how Pigua would apply the same two arms circular. All driven by the waist, not arms.
