I think the thing you missed with the Carolina jersey is that the flag is in the shape of the State flag which was a really nice touch. Otherwise amazing analysis!
Thank you again, Neil! Some I had to connect the jerseys more to the state than the city. There were also some hard to spot details the you might have missed including the Calgary Cowboys logo, the North Carolina state outline, the blue colours in the Wild jerseys that are taken from the state flag, the space needle from the Seattle logo, the Northern Cal shoulder patch on the sharks jersey and the Jets jersey that is based off the Winnipeg Falcons Olympic jersey. There are many more but I’ll let you find them yourself!
hey Neil, a video idea for you could be: go through your room and pick out special pieces of any kind of sports memorabilia and share the backstory behind it. i think that'd be a fun video to watch. also, i think it'd make for some great videos to just hear funny/interesting stories about places you've travelled and experiences you've had in each of those places. these are just my opinions for video ideas but, just thought they might be helpful. i hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Years too
I have ideas for a few teams, listed at random: 1. Anaheim Ducks: Have the player's names and numbers in the font of the classic Disneyland logo, or something similar. 2. Vegas Golden Knights: Replace the jersey logo with 3 smaller logos, each appearing as they would on reels of a slot machine. 3. Seattle Kraken: Interlock the trident with the logo of the Seattle Metropolitans, and/or add the year 1917, the year the Seattle Metropolitans became the first US based team to win the Stanley Cup.
The triangle behind the flag in the hurricanes is supposed to represent the research triangle park, which is shortened to r.t.p. or the triangle. The three cities or towns that are at the points are Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
Something to keep in mind with Washington, is that its landmarks are so nationally oriented, that it might not scream city connect as much as you might think in that locals don't relate to them. I actually wish people would incorporate the city flag more.
Grew up in San Jose. The entire tech industry began there. It is the silicon valley. The first hard drive was invented in the IBM building there. Definitely could have been incorporated somehow.
The colors on the Minnesota jersey are based on the new State flag. The Twins have a jersey that is the basis for the Twin Cries on the front of the jersey.
For the Ducks that roller-coaster is the "Incredicoaster" of Disneyland's "Pixar Pier" and the Hurricanes flag is actually the state of North Carolina The "Minnesota Twins" use the "Twin Cities" text in their baseball jerseys
The roller coaster on the Anaheim Ducks jersey could represent the fact that the Ducks play in close proximity to both Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, which are both in Orange County...
@geraldlogue7620 Knott's is sponsored by the Kings which doesn't make sense if Buena Park is just a next-door neighbor to Anaheim AND I'M BORN IN ANAHEIM & I LIVE IN BUENA PARK
The Panthers could've been perfect and while I like the uniform. They play in Sunrise, FL. using a sunrise palette instead of a sunset would've made this truly a city connect
As a Caps fan, I do not want another f'ing building on a jersey. Nope. No way. The City Connect jeraey they did with the cherry blossoms was perfect. It would be really hard to beat that.
The biggest problem when making city connect Jersey is that people do not research the city the teams are in. Chicago is the Windy City, New York is The Big Apple, Saint Louis is Gateway To The West San Josie is related to Tech. Before making city connect, you have to connect with the cities.
Vancouver's jersey looks like it's in line with the concept I would have for the Seattle Kraken, something modeled after the jersey and logo of the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans...
San Jose is not part of the bay area however. It's part of the Silicon Valley. It's surrounding cities are Gilory, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale for example. The Silicon Valley is known for its Tech Companies. A digital Shark may work.
I wanna submit a set but I've never touched Photoshop, I use a different app for my designs. Is there any way to format your template into other photoshop-like apps, or to submit the 4k pngs of my template to you?
2 thoughts: 1. Could have had the space needle coming out from behind the anchor on the Kraken uniform. 2. Maybe put the sharks arena on their jersey(city connect).
The Space Needle kinda IS the inspiration behind the top figure on the anchor. Maybe leave off the "anchor" part and because there is a red blinking light on the top (so planes don't hit it) render that as the Red Eye? And as far as SJ: Maybe a circuit-board motif in the background for the computer industry?
@@SeaScrabbler For the Kraken, I would have the trident interlock with the logo of the Seattle Metropolitans... or at least have some reference to the first American team to win the Stanley Cup...
For Montreal the designer who took 3 different identity [Kingdom of France] (Fleur de Lys), the Canadian Maple Leaf and The French Republic (Tricolore) (Bleu [Blue], Blanc [White], Rouge [Red]) none represents the city of Montréal right.
The Fleur de Lis is promenent in Quebec and is on their flag. The 3 colours are the team colours. And the team is called the Canadiens, so a maple leaf doesn't seem out of place (Quebec is also where a lot of maple syrup is made) Montreal is a city that is part Franco and part Anglo (as opposed to many other cities in Quebec which are mostly Franco) , which is what i think they were trying to get at with the logo.
creator really did not try with the Blues huh. Just stuck a retro logo on the sweater and slapped the 90's colors on the uniform. Overall, all the unis in this series were not creative at all. The creator should go back to the drawing board and attempt this one again.

Impressive catch

San Jose is Northern Cali.
Great jerseys you made! The Florida ones was amazing. And I also loved the Golden Knights and the Sharks.
Putting "SoCal" on the Sharks jersey... Them fighting words.
My apologies to Sharks fans the shoulder patch did indeed say North California. My mistake.
SHARKS jersey can use some tech designs on stripes since it's in Silicon Valley.

Great vid! Love that Florida jersey as well. Well done by the designer.
I like the Calgary homage to the WHA Calgary Cowboys.
The logo is straight off the Calgary city flag

16:05 you incorporate tech for silicon valley somehow. Circuit traces maybe? Matrix style binary? But San Jose is the anchor of the SV

Florida Seattle and Vancouver were my favoristes Not in any order
Florida, San Jose and Vegas where my favs and like to see them as thirds.
The Islanders jersey reminds me of the football jersey in the Adam Sandler movie Waterboy hahaha
The Toronto Maple Leafs City Connect Jersey Concept is my favourite…I really like the brown gloves with the white and blue!

@geraldlogue7620 they need to ask Disney; even though they were their 1st owners, they STILL need permission

I'm surprised that Neal hasn't mentioned that the center strip feels a little high kinda of like a belly top
I would wear the hell out of that Utah jersey. That’s the winner for me.
17:10 is there city stuff on the stl jersey? How about the arch?
Ngl that Florida one is dope
I liked these jerseys in general.

This 100%. The creator of these unis just slapped some things on a uni and called it the city connect series. Not well thought out at all.
U should try
No on the Blackhawks one. Don’t see these selling in mass.
Vancouver's jersey looks like it's in line with the concept I would have for the Seattle Kraken, something modeled after the jersey and logo of the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans...
Vancouver's is modelled after the Millionaires, who were a team at the same time as the Metropolitans
For San Jose it's possible to do a "The Bay" specific city connect, like the Golden State Warriors
San Jose is not part of the bay area however. It's part of the Silicon Valley. It's surrounding cities are Gilory, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale for example. The Silicon Valley is known for its Tech Companies. A digital Shark may work.

That is NOT Massachusetts on the Boston shoulders
Real thats what i noticed that looks like idk russia, not massachusetts 😭

You realize that the Seattle anchor logo incorporates the space Needle, right?
Detroit is a victim of its own perfection
I might’ve missed this before but is the jersey you’re wearing a rare one cuz it says LNH on the neck??
as a pens fan i think it needs to say pgh or have some steel reference somewhere
hi Matt 👋🏾
@ was good
The only problem with my Bolts city connect uniform set is that it needs to be in black.
1. Sabres
2. Golden Knights
3. Leafs
4. Panthers
5. Canadiens

Gosh in reality I hope the NHL isn’t turning to the boring NBA/MLB
LETS GO
Winnipeg is the best
There all pretty nice jerseys but no of them are city connect.
#BridgeActivity
You were pretty uneducated about cities for this one Neil.
The two best are Florida and Minnesota.
