  • INFAMOUS AMERICA presented by Black Barrel Media. Shortly after the Little Bohemia shootout, the celebrity criminals of the 1930s start to experience a reckoning. They fall one by one: Bonnie and Clyde, then John Dillinger, then Pretty Boy Floyd. In the autumn of 1934, Lester Gillis, aka George “Baby Face” Nelson, becomes the third man to carry the title of Public Enemy No. 1. But his reign at the top of the criminal underworld is brief and ends in a hail of gunfire.

Some stories make out like baby face Nelson was just a screwball, but I disagree. Did he HATE and kill law enforcement with no regard? Yes he did, but from a historian point of view, I'm more intrigued by how smart he was at times compared to his peer group. He didn't drink, didn't take unessesary chances and those were rare qualities for a man of his age. God Bless those whove fallen as right is right and wrong is wrong...

I often wondered, if these crooks stole the staggering amounts of money that is said why didn't they just quit after lets say $50,00-$100,000 and go to Mexico, South America or Central Europe and disappear ?I wonder if the banks were cashing in by exaggerating their losses for insurance claims.

Dillinger was one robbery away from retiring. Also keep in mind they all lived lavish lifestyles , immediately after getting the funds, money was also lost at times as they were always on the run
Managers would call Dillinger asking him to rob their banks they would keep a cut of the stolen money

How does the girl know where he is after they dropped them off in Chicago? Those 2 knew they were driving back to Nevada? 4 people who didn't like each other kept in touch?
