The crown was never her responsibility yet she did it better than Queen Victoria because Edward VIII decided to abdicate. Having lost her father and not even having the time to grieve, she ascended the throne at 25 and since then saw the world change around her. Having lost the close family one by one- father, grandmother, sister, mother and at last her husband of 70 plus years. She was surrounded by family yet alone since the passing of Duke of Edinburgh. May G-d bless both her family and the people of Great Britain. Not at all comparing Boris to Winston Churchill, but this speech was almost as moving as Churchill's 1952 speech upon King George's death..Well Done BoJo 👏
His speech, the one by Harriet Harman and the one by Theresa May were excellent. They showed the *human* side of the Queen. If I had one criticism of the Queen, it is that we didn't get to see enough of her as a spontaneous person, as opposed to hearing her reciting a speech that had probably been written by someone else (and if it hadn't been, it sounded as if it had). One advantage that Charles has is that he has lived a lot of his life free of the tighter restrictions of being monarch, so we have got to know him better as a person.
Lots missing tho - the time he lied to her to con her into illegally proroguing parliament. Or how much partying was enjoyed at No 10 while she set an example to the country by mourning her beloved husband alone. And I'd love to have heard how she was dragged to London at the age of 96 to go thru every possible constitutional scenario to protect our democracy when the big hypocritical man baby was refusing to resign. So much missed.

@@peterclark6290 Her Highness, the Queen never visited Pakistan, Iwish she had, but nonetheless other Royals did visit, and for that I am grateful and feel extreme sorrow upon her passing.
As Dutchman, having lived 25 years in republics for work (France, Turkey & Bangladesh), I always say that the best and real democracies are the Western-European kingdoms. They are the most stable countries, with the happiest people. In the Netherlands, more than 78% of people are satisfied with the level of democracy (2019). And a comparable number of people is in favour of the monarchy. Who have the highest approval rates, that no president will ever reach, as they are political figures ? The European kings and queens. Having a prime minister with above her or him a head of state that can really be the seen as the embodiment and soul of a country: no republic can say, or has, the same. And it prevents us from having situations as in the USA or other republics, as France, where a president can take too much power as there is "nobody" above him anymore. But the UK has indeed been blessed with the most outstanding monarch, and yes, I too did shed a tear when I heard that H.M. Queen Elizabeth had passed away. She was a sort of "super"-queen among the monarchs.
I think you have a very naive and uninformed viewpoint. She didn't prevent the Iraq invasion when a million people were protesting in the streets, did she? She has no political influence at all. It is parliament that keeps politicians in check, as it should be, just as in Republics, it is the senate.
It’s only fitting to laugh during these kinds of moments. Because, Queen Elizabeth actually had a wonderful sense of humor, which most overlooked because of her monarchy. As an American, I have shed tears for her loss. As, it’s a very familial feeling, like losing my grandmother all over again. When in fact, my grandmother was 104 when she died only after contracting an infection after falling and breaking her hip while mowing her yard with an old manual push mower. She was as one tough woman! She was in NYC on her honeymoon when the Titanic survivors arrived.
I was born in Nigeria and I don’t know why I got to love this queen so much. She represented servanthood. One of my wishes was to meet her actually. Of all the male leaders around the world. This Female leader was the greatest of all time. Rightfully called Elizabeth The Great.
I have seldom heard his speeches but this one made me break out into a stream of tears once again. Truly a great tribute to a greater monarch. May she have her well deserved peaceful rest with her beloved husband in the heavenly abodes
A wonderful speech, and yes, I also felt her loss, and still feel it. She went so graceful and dutiful as she was during her entire life. Doing her duties, not much noise around her own person, nor her physical struggles, a protocol put in place, and now she's gone to meet her husband again. An epoc, a time, an era or several ones, has just left us with her passing. Rip Queen Elizabeth 👸

Superb speech and most moving too. I wonder how long it'll be before we ask him to 'come back'.
Even for someone who's not English, her death is unsettling. It's a really weird sensation to realise that England have no longer a queen when that's all you knew for so many years. I have no doubt that Charles III will be a great king, he learn from the best after all. All my condolences to her family & her country.
if u go out of England u ll find how many people hate queen whn she was ruling at the the middle age...we dnt have to b sad about queen she is not our family or anything else she is just a robbery who looted many resources around the the world when she was young...india never forget here rude behavior towards Indian people
You need to open the eyes to the real world 😅
Ive been feeling very emotional since Friday as a 53yo NewZealander living in Australia. To think this amazing Queen has been such a presence my whole life. A moving speech.
Boris has his own flaws but the man's political stamina is admirable
Absolutely 💯
What a great speech. I chuckled and cried..
Say what you want about Boris. That was a brilliant speech and a brilliant tribute to a wonderful women and queen she will be forever missed ❤️
I have respect for Boris! His speech made me choke in tears. I am from Singapore and living in Hong Kong and we are part of the commonwealth and I followed the Queen my whole life!!!
I forgot she is human and will perish. I thought she will live forever!
Magnificent. Beautifully honest and heartfelt. This is Boris at his best.
That was absolutely perfect. A beautifully expressed sentiment.
Hello how are you doing 😊
Brilliant words Boris 👏🏼. RIP Queen Elizabeth II
Well doneBoris, this wasn’t the bumph that usually comes out your mouth! This was straight from the heart ,I applaud you for that, Thank you.
Wow. Well done Boris. I've not been a particular fan of yours, but there is no denying that was a well written and well read speech/tribute.
Boris was a journalist long before he was in politics.
@@afritimm indeed he was, but my point still stands...
@@mrbeeoutdoors3213
I wasn’t contradicting your point.
As an American, I have always appreciated and respected the historical role and cultural significance of Queen Elizabeth II and her family in British history. That said, Thursday was truly an auspiciously sad day for both the United Kingdom and the rest of the world, including my country, the United States of America. May G-d bless both her family and the people of Great Britain. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 - 8 September 2022). 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
"This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England ... "
-William Shakespeare (1564-1616), King Richard II (1595), Act II, Scene I
Thank you 🇬🇧
Lovely comment. Thank you.
So very kind and appreciated.. Thankyou 🇬🇧

Excellent Boris. Perfectly summed up her majesty
Boris wrote the most beautiful heartfelt statement about the Queen after her death.
He did
Yes he did
She was such a special lady and a great queen 🕊
Yea doesn't take away from the fact that when her husband died he was having a party in lockdown.
Or someone else did?
I am not a BJ fan however that was a speech worthy of our Dear Queen Elizabeth. R.I.P.
She was the epitome of class and grace and set the bar of what a lady should be. May she Rest In Peace. Jonathan Burgess, U.S.A.
This is a beautiful speech!! I think you speak for many here Mr Johnson. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful speech with careful thoughts and extraordinary details that only must have come by pouring it from the heart. I’m no BoJo fan, but this, this is a compilation of very beautiful words.
Lol I misread that as "jojo fan".
… by a speech writer. 😄
He is a true wordsmith
@@travelwell6049 Boris is a writer by trade or are you entirely ignorant?
@@travelwell6049 if he wrote a few of Liebours speeches they would stand a chance!
Not at all comparing Boris to Winston Churchill, but this speech was almost as moving as Churchill's 1952 speech upon King George's death..Well Done BoJo 👏
Omg yes I think I remember that speech!! Loved Winston churchill
@@catherinematthews9573 It would have been inappropriate for him to have put himself and the various controversies of his tenure at the center of any such speech. I was all but certain that when he mentioned how she'd assured everyone during the depths of COVID they'd meet again, that he was going to say "and we did... some of us when sooner than we should have".. but he had the restraint not to.
I agree
I can't stand Boris Johnson, but when I saw Liz Truss make a statement at Downing Street after the Queen's passing last night, even I couldn't help thinking "Boris would have done that much better". Interesting to see I was right.
Absolutely, bring back Boris. He is powerful. He has the DNA of a leader inside his body. No one is perfect. But without comparison, you never know who is the best. Don’t be picky too much.
@@chrisxu5698 Don't get me wrong; he speaks well, but he speaks dishonestly. He shouldn't lead the country.
Bet she was pushed by the media, like a Joe Biden
@@NotoriousWhistler your true but he might and I say might change and also I don’t know but Liz truss does not desreve to be prime minister. There is no great position who should have the right to become prime minister
Had the pleasure of meeting the Queen at a charity do once. She was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.
His best ever speech. What a fine tribute.
That’s the best speech he has every done a great tribute to the queen who will be dearly missed
As a Pakistani, this is one of the best tributes I have heard from any British politician. I extend my condolences to each and every member of the British public and the Royal Family who are grieving such a great loss. Queen Elizabeth was an epitome of grace, character and beauty. Cherished by millions across the world. Stay strong Britain. Love, From Pakistan. 🇵🇰🇬🇧
She was in a very real sense your Queen as well. An example of what a level of 'government' that is solely committed to decency adds to the political environment. Add in her intimacy with the threads of History and behold, the complete package.
Love to all in Pakistan too.
@@peterclark6290 Her Highness, the Queen never visited Pakistan, Iwish she had, but nonetheless other Royals did visit, and for that I am grateful and feel extreme sorrow upon her passing.
What a kind comment. Thank you and best wishes.
@@apex9806 she did visit pakistan, twice!
That was a great speech by Boris that meticulously and eloquently encapsulated the feeling of the Nation and the Commonwealth.
And it's Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
A speech that was not only wonderful but necessary for the world to be reminded of all the she had given and done for her beloved country.
Brilliant Boris, it is so hard to explain why we are feeling so sad and you have done it 💕
Apart from Churchill possibly the finest speech to be held in parliament
A salute you Mr Johnson
Back stabbed
Hounded
I don't think that anybody will give a better speech about Her Majesty than this.
Despite what we may all think of Boris Johnson, you cannot deny, this was A very heartfelt speech honouring her majesty.
We don't all think what you do
It’s only fitting to laugh during these kinds of moments.
Say what you will, but this man knows how to make a speech. On tone, on topic, Boris at his best.
That is how you deliver a tribute
I was born in Nigeria and I don’t know why I got to love this queen so much.
She represented servanthood.
One of my wishes was to meet her actually.
Of all the male leaders around the world. This Female leader was the greatest of all time.
Rightfully called Elizabeth The Great.
I have seldom heard his speeches but this one made me break out into a stream of tears once again. Truly a great tribute to a greater monarch. May she have her well deserved peaceful rest with her beloved husband in the heavenly abodes
This is why I've always believed you are a great man Boris, thank you for a wonderful speech.
AMAZING TRIBUTE TO QUEEN ELISABETH THE GREAT, THE WHOLE WORLD WE MISS HER DEARLY. ❤❤❤❤❤
Boris did a great job here, respect to him.
True
A wonderful speech, and yes, I also felt her loss, and still feel it. She went so graceful and dutiful as she was during her entire life. Doing her duties, not much noise around her own person, nor her physical struggles, a protocol put in place, and now she's gone to meet her husband again.
An epoc, a time, an era or several ones, has just left us with her passing.
Rip Queen Elizabeth 👸
That was wonderful speech, well done Boris 🇬🇧
Pure Gold, Boris. Pure gold. Thank you!
Great speech Boris , well done
That is probably the best speech Boris has ever made, such sentiments said with belief. RIP Her Majesty: Long Live The King!
