@tajj7 Due to the nature of the stompa, it is already quite easy to make one : large base, a skirt hidding the mechanism, more importantly : extremely simple movement. Multiples walkers already exist as student projects and things like that. You can even buy one and put the frame of the stompa above it. The imperial walkers on the other hand... I though a bit of it, what kind of motor to use, the mechanical joints and also the algorithm making it 1) stand up 2) walk. And my conclusion is that I may need a few years of carefull planning and a lot of time and money to make it work (motors are so damn expensives and I need so many of them). An imperial walker is insanely difficult to make. It's a personnal dream of mine to make such project but I know it won't happen with a snap of my fingers like the stompa could.

Another brilliant build. You should give Phozen's Sonic Saber a go for cutting plastics and printed resin parts. It's pretty spot on and cuts through most materials like butter. :)

I suspect you don’t have much experience with drones because that kind of tech doesn’t exist for stuff like this. The sensor alone would be too heavy and the programming of the aircraft to fly by itself would be a monumental task. This isn’t flying because a fancy computer is helping it, it’s as raw as it can get I am in full control as the flight controller in this is bare bones simple fc that has no barometer or gps. At best it has accelerometers but it basically feels like balancing a plate on the end of a stick to fly.

While I doubt anyone ever would try that given that scarcity of the model (not to mention the weight) I'd surrender immediately if I was the opposing force. It'd be terrifying if it landed on the opposing army or fell to pieces on top. Hell even in it's normal form without modifications it would terrify anyone if it was on a flying base and right above their stuff :D

Now that makes me think of a Thunderhawk with a drone in it flying around. Or as a Custodes player trying to get the massive Orion gunship to actually fly. Of course that thing is made of resin and is much heavier.
im impressed that particular drone was able to lift the body of that model, especially with the turret mounted adding more weight on top. i was almost certain that you'd need something light like a polystyrene vacuum molded body. this just confirms i know something between "jack & sh!t" about drones.
I would love to see this idea scaled up to a tank/blower from the David Drake book series Hammer's Slammers. It doesn't need to fly, just function with a skirt in ground effect as a hover tank.
Lol, you snark about the dremel but truly is IS the safer option. ive hit my hands tons of times with those cutting wheels with no protection. they dont cut flesh easily, they're meant to grind hard surfaces, not soft ones. :) you sure make some cool things dude.... you more than earned this sub. watching your future with great interest. :)

It could be topped by a walking Dreadnought or Knight. Or Titan. A Stompa will probably do just fine for a first try 🙂
A stompa has a lot of space inside so might work quite well.

It almost didn’t. And to be fair usually this drone would fly for about 4-6 mins but inside a tank it flies about 30 seconds haha

You build the equivalent of the old antiquity chariot with the blades on the wheels with your rotors, to slice the miniatures on the board. Amazing ^^
