The spat between Nellie and her Coach is comedy gold. She is fun.
Olga Korbut will always be my darling. And Alexeev and Rigert and Borzov my idols.I miss those good 'ol days!
Ludmilla Tourischeva married Valeri Borzov, the Munich 100 meters champion, in 1977. Nelli Kim became a judge. Tourischeva coached Natalia Shaposhnikova. Nadia Comaneci married Bart Connor. A great gymnastics era.
Nelly was soo carismatic
11:28 well.... this wins the most awkward Olympic moment ever.
Legendary "I hate the olympic" Nellie Kim.
simplemente nadie como Nadia
I like these Olympics films nostalgic
Nadia sensacional demais ... Amo ela
*Brazilian Rebeca Andrade our Gold medalist in gymnastics👉🏿🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🥇🥈*
Nadia!!!! te quiero!!! la mejor, soy mexicana.
*17:25** A revolução da ginástica artística e dali para frente não sería mais a mesma uma gênia Nádia Comanecci.*
Nádia, mito!

Nellie Kim is so beautiful!!
I had schoolboy crush on her.
I remember to this day, the ABC "meet the competitor" piece about her.
She was from Tashkent and of Central Asian and Korean parentage. I found a poster of her in a Gymnastics magazine in my high school library about two years after these games...I don't remember how it made it's way onto my bedroom wall(??????)
I think so too.
Leonard was very unlucky with the injury. He had recently defeated Hasely Crawford in a different tournament and could have won gold in Montreal.
love sport love Olympic Games love history of sports
olga korbut is the real first perfect gymnast ❤️
21:06 An aged Leni Riefenstahl, who directed Olympia, the film on the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Nadia Comaneči humiliated the Soviets at these Olympics.
Nadia's music was a medly of 'Yes Sir. That's My Baby' and 'Jump in The Line'. She never used any Abba.
Actually the music in Nadia"s exercise is old '40 romanian "bar" music (aprox translate) "Doi lei o tigara...." almoust something like cabaret music, for the time and comunist era in Romania is something very progresist. If you want can try search Tanase romanian music.
Un leu, o lamaie - Clarinet Trio
aprox trad... One cent - one lemon, two cents - one quince, three cents - how many girls you want... an '20's or '30's cabaret romanian song
Nadia's uneven bars were tremendous, why would they interrupt her routine to show us a jealous stare
the award ceremony at the end of this video shows ludmilla tourischeva winning silver and nellie kim winning bronze in the individual all around, however the final results from all other online sources say the opposite and that it was infact Nellie who won silver. It is possible this is due to a mixup during the awards ceremony following the soviets protesting Ludmillas results, claiming her scores were too low. This is something which is hard to confirm however and if anyone has any insight into this i would love to know. thank you
Like and thank from Baku city
Nadia es Genial! muy guapa tambien!
7:45 Big John Neighbor!! Beat the Great Roland Mathis.
Ludmilla tourischeva
Who is the frustrated American girl looking at Nadia Comaneci at 23:11? She's watching her medal fly, ha ha ha!
Nelli kim american girl ???
Not american... russian (or from some other of the former soviet republics)
She is not American She is Nellie Kim from Soviet Union
Nelli Kim - Kazakstan/USSR. Looking sour because Nadia stole the show.
The Americans girls weren't even a factor in the top 10 until 1978, other than Cathy Rigby's 1970 World beam silver in 1970
23:27 those days top gymnasts really hated each other
You can't blame them
This was as a result of sports mixed with politics and each country wanted to outshine the other in all sports particularly the rivalry between USA, Russia, china, was anoying
What about Don quarry
Please help!! Which camera was used in Olympic games-1976??
Teofilo Stevenson. Maybe the greatest boxer ever.
10:03 The Chemical girls... East Germany Women's swim team...Ridiculous level of doping.
Doping is commonplace in USA, Great Britain and West Germany as well. It's ridiculous to only point the finger at the Eastern Bloc.
@@gaelgarciabernal2434 at this time it was only the eastern block countries doping. By 84 in LA the US had caught the rest of the field. Probably would've been 1980 if we didn't boycott the games.
@@joespitler3929 yeah, sure. lol.

Romênia na decadência da ginástica artística hoje em dia
Why was Ludmilla crying?
+L Ti Because, it was the end of her career, she retire after the Olympics. The Olympics gave so much to her and she was aware of that even at the end. With her also was the end of an age in gymnastics, after her it was dominated by this girls like Olga, Nadia, etc.
+irafa2 I Didn't know this, thak you:)
I guess that's because she knows that's the very end of her long career.
Because she knocked out of 2nd place by Neil Kim! with her floor rountine
🕺🏾
This Olympic History film on the female gymnastics competition has not only presented the events as historical error but it also has obvious bias to Russian gymnasts who were ALL outclassed, out-performed, grossly beaten, and emphatically dethroned by the greatest female gymnast in Olympic history - the 14-year old NADIA COMANECI of Romania.
Really, although undoubtedly Nadia was the sensation of these games, at the end of the day the USSR won the team gold,
And Nellie Kin won two of the four individual apparatus gold medals
er...no
Do you have any more information about the historical errors of this film? I'm doing research on Nadia Comaneci and I'd love to find out what you know!
It feels like a clump of film footage strung together with no narrative or story telling !!!
whine on. Its the classic 70s documentary. Very well made.
@@marguskiis7711 have youwatched1956 Melbourne film, it was simply the best and to put the icing on the cake, those Olympics were around Christmas time, and the film director even extended to the preparation the individual athletes made waaay before those games even started and even extended to the villages ,I don't know why they stopped making Olympic films like those in the1980 downwards films
