Most likely your cable is stretch if so need a new cable
That was a symptom. I also didn't know what I was doing. 1st time even looking at the cables since I started riding. I know I know noob ish. But I know better now!
Well if you want a proper adjustment buy a new cable and then do the adjustment with those specifications it will work much better
