It has to be one of the 3: - 2002, cuz cuz it has iconic sets that I love - 2008 cuz it has my favorite card release - 2023 cuz it got me back into YuGiOh
I bought a booster box of Age of Overlord last night, mixed the packs up just like you do and pulled some last pack magic to the tune of a QCSR SP:Little Knight! First time ever opening anything from the set I was ecstatic!!
My favorite year for current and modern yugioh: DarkWing Blast when I pulled the Black Wing Dragon Starlight in Barnes and Noble in 2022. Edison Era: I was big on psychic type in yugioh and Pokémon and love Overdrive Teleporter. It's a never been reprinted card from Crossroads of Chaos Goat Format: I am a big fan of Tyrant Dragon from Legacy of Darkness. These are the packs ith the cards i like the most in diffremt eras. I open the most outside Duelist Pack: Chazz Princeton and Duelist Pack: Zane Truesdale for Armed Dragon Lv. 10, VWXYZ cards and Cyber cards.
2003 Labyrinth of Nightmares is probably one of my fav sets of all time as I pulled Dark Necrofear as probably my first UR ever, and built a deck around her which I used for many years, nostalgic times!
2019 was my favourite year in yugioh probably because I returned to yugioh collecting near the end of 2018. It had quite a few good sets and structure decks. My favourite set ever, however, is TLM.
Hey Ruxin, thanks for the continuous videos! Enjoy watching them on the daily! Just wanted to ask (this may not be possible), I'm curious how you name/store all your videos over the past years. You've been doing a video a day for so long now, I've always been curious how you managed to organize/sort them out especially if you need to look back on some of the videos to find specific things like when you pulled a ghost rare, or "x" card, etc. Do you think you can make a video showing that and the process? I think that would be pretty cool haha. Either way, thanks for a lot of fun videos. Hope the channel grows a lot more and the positivity doesn't change as much! Much love from NZ
Crazy how a year ago Effect Veiler starlight was a solid $800 retail from TCG Player. The advent of the QCSR has it as low as $261 at this time, and $225-240 for foreign versions.
Cool video idea for sure!! My favorite year was 2014 or 2015. I loved the duelist alliance and new challengers meta. It's when I first starting playing competitive meta decks! Big nostalgia.
something i was thinking you could do is have "pack battles" with big youtubers where you both open packs and try to out do the other with better pulls. and maybe a bingo card that if a certain bingo is hit maybe that supporter gets that prize. just a couple of ideas out there hopefully will inspire.
Great video for sure! My favorite pack ever is Magician's Force, with The Duelist Genesis coming second, and Absolute Powerforce in third place. So 2004, 2008 and 2009!
The years from MRD to LOD were probably my favorite in terms of opening packs. That was a time when you had to either pull or trade for all your cards. I remember finding so many secret rares during that era just out of sheer luck.
Battles of Legend Light Revenge was the only Yugioh booster I ever bought a full box. Neither of the secrets was short print, so with 24 packs I pulled all 20. And besides the memories, it's my favourite, because it have favourite card Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon.
my favorite year is 2008 when the Red Dragon Archfiend Tin came out. bought that when i was in High school. RDA quickly became my favorite card and still is. Thanks for the awesome video Ruxin!
Favorite year was definitely 2006 and set from that year is probably Power of the Duelist. I was deep into Yugioh at the time, playing almost ever day during lunch at school, and I happened to pull a Dark Neos which, while meh, became one of my favorite cards.
Love the videos with so many different packs are opened. Favorite pack today was LON, but favorite pull was the Injection Fairy Lily. As always, thanks for the content!
The nostalgia! I came back and left yugioh multiple times but I just cant stay away... my favourite was edison era, was super fun, and even though the game is super fast compared to then, I think it does make yugioh more unique compared to the other card games
Ah I missed so many good years of packs. Pretty sure Strike of Neos was the last one I bought before returning to... Dawn of Majesty and the god decks I think? I went back and opened a bunch of Dark Saviors too for building a Fur Hire deck. Packs were so really cheap for a while
hey at 17:28 we see there is a "security tag" inside the pack itself, not in the blister. so does that mean that the security person, opens not only the blisters but also opens these packs and inserts these tags? that to me seems kinda sus. how are we to know that the security person isn't looking for the good ones? also, how are we to know a security person even put that there and it isn't put there by scammers to off put any "these packs and/or blisters have been tampered with or resealed". ya honestly, if these security tags do not come from konami itself and is put there by third parties i would not purchase anything with those tags and if you find them in a pack, i would ask for a refund as the pack has been resealed.
It’s standard for retailers in theory someone could do this on the backend but it would be like a Walmart scam or something- generally the tag and results looked normal
I'd have to say 2023 is my favorite year in the history of the TCG just because that's when I really got back into collecting cards after a several-year-long hiatus.
I only found you pretty recently, but I love how entertaining you are. Keep it up!!! (P.S. what deck do u play?) (P.S. P.S. I like both 2020 and 2023 yugioh)
Nice to see some of the packs opened from the years i was out of the hobby my favourite year was the ghosts from the past 2 year as it was pure nostalgia opening that and it was my first ghost rare pull and my favourite pack was the one i opened the most which was metal raiders
My favorite packs are dawn of majesty cuz of the starlight rare stardust dragon, battles of chaos cuz of 25th anniversary dark magician, Lob cuz of my favorite card dark magician, MFC cuz of Dark magician girl, and duelist Nexus cuz of the QCR’s
My favorite year is actually 2023, they released METAL RAIDERS once again for the 25th anniversary, and the set cyberstorm access was a brilliant and sadly the last set for branded 😅 The legendary collection 25th anniversary edition was really cool too And the megatin of 2023 is totally amazing! Plus all those qcr cards that came out last year where amazing! So yeah, 2023 for the win!
Best year is 2020. It was when I got back into Yugioh. I was down about the pandemic, and I remember going to a card shop for the first time. I ended up buying about $400 worth of Max Gold and Dragons of Legend: the Complete Series.
my favorite year is this year because im getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh and my favorite set to open is for sure rarity collection is the first set i opened in my return
2022 is my favorite year, cause that's when runicks were released, and that's what got me into the actual tcg after playing master duel as they're a fun and pretty cheap build
This was a neat video idea. Seeing so many legendary packs in one video. All killer, no filler! Also Mechanized Madness is such a good structure deck, this is a slam dunk of a giveaway!!!
Time machine pulls. 😅 2005 was Great, it definitely pulled me in to collecting ygo cards. My brothers used to duke it out each day and save up money to buy booster packs.
2008 I’ve watched and loved playing yugioh since I was a kid but I think that I really enjoyed yugioh 5ds a little more then then the other og yugioh series I love stardust dragon and I think black wings are really cool so yeah around that time of 5ds
2002 where it all started for me, then 2023 when I fell back in love with yugioh
Me too!
Yeah 25th anniversary did a great job lol
It has to be one of the 3:
- 2002, cuz cuz it has iconic sets that I love

Goat and Edison baby
My favorite year for current and modern yugioh: DarkWing Blast when I pulled the Black Wing Dragon Starlight in Barnes and Noble in 2022.
Edison Era: I was big on psychic type in yugioh and Pokémon and love Overdrive Teleporter. It's a never been reprinted card from Crossroads of Chaos

2004-2007 when I was in elementary school were definitely my favorite years. It felt like everyone in the school was playing Yugioh at the time.
I still can't believe how rare the ghosts are in a ghost themed set. Thanks for the fun vid!
2019 was my favourite year in yugioh probably because I returned to yugioh collecting near the end of 2018. It had quite a few good sets and structure decks.
My favourite set ever, however, is TLM.
Damn it’s amazing how many packs from the early years are still out there. Invasion of chaos will always be my favourite set.
Hey Ruxin, thanks for the continuous videos! Enjoy watching them on the daily!

2007 and 2008 were peak YGO for me. The start of the Synchro era, Glad Beasts, Lightsworn… those were amazing times
my favorite year is 2008 when the Red Dragon Archfiend Tin came out. bought that when i was in High school. RDA quickly became my favorite card and still is. Thanks for the awesome video Ruxin!
I do like 2023. The Gate Guardian retrain in maze of memories got me back into the game. It also had the rarity collection which was epic!
Awesome video! 2002 for me is my favorite. My favorite pack though might be dark beginning 1 or dark revelation 1
My favorite year has to be 2003 with Magician's Force for that original beloved Dark Magician Girl. Injection Fairy Lily brought back memories.
The nostalgia! I came back and left yugioh multiple times but I just cant stay away... my favourite was edison era, was super fun, and even though the game is super fast compared to then, I think it does make yugioh more unique compared to the other card games

Well, I have two favourites years. 2003 when LOB was released in my country and 2008 for the duelist genesis
It’s wild to me how many people seem to have kept packs unopened since the beginning!
I’m glad they did
I'd have to say 2023 is my favorite year in the history of the TCG just because that's when I really got back into collecting cards after a several-year-long hiatus.
2023. pulled a extremly rare card (Mirrorjade The Iceblade Dragon Starlight Rare) and that was the calling to get me back into the game.
I love these travel back through time videos. Please make more of them
Awesome video!! Going through the history of the game.
However, Storm of Ragnarok should’ve been in 2011, since it came out in February 2011 here
Very hyped for this video! I can’t remember what year I began watching the anime and buying the cards but probably it would be early 2000.
I think the years xyz became popular were the best when I was a kid, watching zexal and number hunting was very fun
