More difficult, perhaps, than it first appears. It's obviously easier to sympathise with Jack than with Miranda, because of everything Cerberus did to her. From Miranda's point of view, however, Cerberus pretty much saved her life, kept her safe from her abusive father, nurtured her abilities, and gave her a new future - the complete opposite of Jack's experience. It's not unusual for someone in that position to constantly make excuses for their "saviour." In short, I'd say Miranda is in the wrong, but her attitude is understandable. She's in denial.
I think it depends on who instigated it. Like if someone goes in looking for a fight, they're actively creating a space for nasty things to be said. Since it's in Miranda's quarters, I'm guessing maybe Jack barged in, but things could've happened before then, so we don't know. Also, you missed a little log in the mission that tells the backstory of how Jack ended up in the facility and about her Mom. Some important lore!
Zaeed’s “glass parking lot” comment is referencing large scale orbital bombardment. Hypothetically the heat generated by WMDs that could be used to do that would vaporize anything on the surface, and superheat or melt, or whatever the correct term is, turning the topsoil into a glassy, obsidian-like substance. Flat, glassy, utterly devoid of life. Ergo “Glass parking lot”.
Thanks forn another great episode Ren! It's always fascinating to hear your particular thoughts and see your immediate reactions to it all. I too, fully side with Jack when it comes to her altercation with Miranda. Clearly Miranda didn't like Jack from the start, and both like to push each others buttons any chance they get. Thinking about it longer it's unsurprising (and consistent to her character) to me that Miranda-even after having tagged along on Jack's loyalty mission-would still bully her teammate like that. She remains a Cerberus loyalist who thinks they can't do no wrong. That being said, there may be a chance it was a defense/coping mechanism, as she's not only in denial but is trying to hide the fact that she herself was doubting Cerberus' moral compass and couldn't admit it. This would mean she was wrong to side with the organization that helped her so long ago. At the start of the game she even said to Jacob she believes she's never wrong, and she's always able to decide the best course of action. She may have not wanted to reflect on all her experiences with Cerberus, the trust and respect she has for her employer, and if being associates with them in the long run is desireable now that she has contact with her sister. I think Jack is amazingly written. Her line "I'm a dangerous bitch but I'm also a little girl again. Shit, it's complicated." pretty much encapsulates her state of mind, her attitude and behaviour. And I respect and like her for it. Though obviously I feel sad what she goes through emotionally and how she masks her scars, both physically (her tattoos cover all the marks from the torture she endured as a child) and mentally (talking so plainly about having been used by the facility, the pirates that picked her up after she escaped, the cult she was recruited to and her "friends" that seduced and swindled her). Under no circumstances do I think the Teltin facility should've existed. There's no justification for what happened there; even the idea-of creating the most powerful human biotic-suggests ethical boundaries being crossed. Cerberus always commited these inhumane acts in the name of humanity's advancement but also losing their own humanity in the process. So their whole modus operandi is philosophically and morally flawed. Even scientifically does it backfire in most cases since they aren't aware what they're exactly creating-due to the psychological damage they inflict as well as the lack of control they exercise over their now overpowered "experiments". P.S. both Jack and Samara are crazy beautiful in their own way lol
Aresh is a really interesting case I don't see a lot of discussion on. "Everything we went through must of been worth something" powerfully delivered by the voice actor first off, but a really depressing mental scar to have. The inability to move on because of the need to understand why it happened to begin with.
Gotta love that "nasty mf" slipping out of Ren's mouth in the same soft spoken voice as usual 😄 Glad to see you back. And I am always impressed that you remember story and character details so well despite the pace of your playthroughs. Usually people struggling with controls or with recalling what was going on every time makes these long, slow Let's Plays a bit frustrating, but not this one!
Lol, yeah the best thing to do with Jack and Miranda is not pick a side and just tell both of them to shut-up. 100% agreed Miranda shouldn't have provoked Jack. She is waaaaaay to unstable to mess around with, like that.🙈 Pissed off Jack= Nuke a planet....enough said💣💥 54:44 As Johnny Depp would say "A mega Pint!"😛 Thanks so much Ren💞hope you're having a wonderful night!
See, now I wonder about taking Jacob on this one. Miri is a Cerberus cheerleader at this point, but Jacob never fully trusted them so it'd be interesting to see his reactions.
@@renwraiths there are unused voice lines for a Jack/Femshep romance which were cut. Modders have made mods that reconstruct that romance and another involving Miranda! Pretty cool...
@@renwraiths Yeah, there are mods for the PC version that restore the Jack x FemShep romance that was originally planned by BioWare and scrapped before the original launch because of... dumbass reasons. Surprised it didn't get restored in the Legendary Edition, tho. Another in a long list of oversights by one Mac Walters, who was in charge of the LE release.
Obviously Jack had a terrible childhood. However she was treated the best out of all the kids, a room 10 times the size of the other kids. Only the safe experiments were done on her after the others died. But no one seems to have any real sympathy for Aresh.
Let's be honest. NOBODY likes Jacob. I usually pick Miranda because she has abilities that can damage both Armor and Shields. Also, in ME3, you can stat yourself so that every time you hit an enemy with your Biotic Charge, it will replenish your shields. makes you into a powerhouse, and is really fun..
Hello my friend is good to see you back on again I hope things are well and I know what you mean it's been a tough life for Jack what their put her through hope you enjoyed her side story 🥺🥺❤️🩹❤️🩹
Okay I need to know everyone's thoughts about *that* conversation after the loyalty mission iykwim 👀

Don't neglect Thane! He's probably lonely in there.

jack is probably my fav character in this whole series I wanted to date her but I dont think my female character can ;(
