Will do, Sir. My heavy weather jacket is still going strong after 5 years! It's a Rocket Ballistic 8 jacket. The darned thing is bullet proof! :-) Then again, I only wear it when things get really bad, which isn't that often around here, so it doesn't get used like the others do. SOme how, some way I will free up a hanger in the closet!
It might be a little much for summer, depending on where you're at. Round these parts in the 100 degrees I'd opt for something like REV'IT!'s Traction jacket or even the Ignition 3, since both those have lots of mesh paneling. This is a fantastic piece though from about 70-75 degrees outside and below. - Byron
i just bought it, yes it is too hot for summer. this thing is mroe like a snowmobile jacket or something. chicks dig it too. i use it for late night summer riding when the temp is around 50
Hi Byron and thanks for the rewiev! I would ask you your chest and shoulder size to better understand the right chose for me. Following the size chart I should have picked an XL and so I did (Eclipse model). Then, XL was too large for me and now I have doubt about pick a Large or a Medium! Even for the Eclipse I think the Flare could have the same wearability..
The camo pattern is different in the Flare 2. The snap which attaches the hood to the back is higher, which seems to alleviate the material being pulled up, as you see in this video. That's all I have discovered so far.
