Those liners make air circulation much worse, you have to cook longer and you end up losing any benefits over the oven, really. Also, they make it more of a steamer than a fryer. Most airfryers are super easy to clean, too!
EDIT: This video is a testament to the idea that using liners in an airfryer is A Bad Idea.

I find the best trick is after your frying is to fill it atleast half way with water and add a dash of washing up liquid, I do this for 6mins then with a dish brush(keep one just for the air fryer as will get greasy) then rinse and put it back in empty to dry for 4mins, I find this the easiest way, but if you do chicken or fish and it gets in the holes a proper clean is always needed 😀

As someone thats being using one for over a year its well worth the investment. A tip I would give would be to open it about twice during the heating cycle and give it a shake. The food cooks better rather than just turning it on and walking way till it beeps off. It’s the reason your sausages didn’t have a consistent colour to them

It's probably a bit late, but a lot of Icelands products now have air fryer cooking times on it. My other half noticed over Xmas when we were cooking party food in the air fryer. I also suggest ditching the liners. Like the others say, it doesn't let the air flow. Also, shaking once or twice during the cycle also helps loads. Specially chips! Love my air fryer has saved a bit on the electric also :)

Tip for cooking pizzas in the air fryer. Cut a strip of parchment paper (I’m not sure if you call it that in the UK) the width of the fryer basket and a few inches longer than that on the long side. Place the naan pizza on that and use it as a sling to lower the naan into your AF basket and to lift it out. The few inches of the longer bit become your handles. The parchment paper can withstand the heat of cooking so you can leave it in place while your pizza cooks. I hope this makes sense. Note, other than this use of a sort of liner (the parchment paper sling) I almost never use a liner while cooking in my AF. The air circulation is far better without one and the cleanup isn’t much more for my AF without it.

One gets better results without those pointless liners. They eliminate the circulation which is the main principle upon which an airfryer works... they also reduce the browning levels as the food fails to make direct contact with the hot, metallic surface of the basket.

Hey, I’ve had the af400 slightly larger version for a few weeks. What I’ve found is that the air fryer is very powerful I have had excellent result sticking to 180 degrees for most things and cooking for longer. The best tips I can give you are to not let liners or foil cover your food I personally use small sheets of parchment paper cut to the size of the crisper tray whereas your liners are folding over your food stopping it browning, you have to flip things often to get an even cooking/browning, for certain foods that you can’t flip like your naan pizza I would preheat the air fryer first so the bottom has a chance to crisp up and lastly I would recommend some racks or silicon baskets. Happy air frying!

If you really want to use them then put them in and then put in the tray so the food is sat on metal and the air can circulate but you won't have to wash the main drawer, just the removable plate.

I second what everyone says about not using liners, not only does it let the air flow round but all the grease and fat can drain away leaving food crispy, at the very least put the tray on top of the liner so you only have to clean the tray and still get the draining benefit, also one other vital thing is you have to turn or shake any food that can be turned half way so it cooks evenly.

It is better to think of it as a mini convection oven instead of a fryer that uses air instead of oil. I prefer the type that looks more like a toaster oven instead of a basket style one that you have. I think it allows for better air circulation and does a better job on things that can't be flipped like your Naan-pizza. The naan-pizza probably would have been better if you had put the naan in for a bit first before topping it to give it a firmer texture.

Mike I hope you remember to preheat your air fryer I don't know if the newest versions of the airfryer don't need to be pre-heated but the majority of older air fryers do need to be pre-heated

I just got the ninja duo too, the best thing I've ever bought for the kitchen, not only is the food more delicious it's the time saving as well. My oven is so clean as well now from lack of use☺☺

Liners defy the purpose of these air fryers, blocking air. Their super easy to clean anyway

one meal in and I'm already annoyed. Putting the liner in defeats the benefits of convection, and then didn't even flip em around to get the browning on other sides

    Don't use the liner.
Oil the basket and pre heat it before you start cooking.

Hi Mike, yes you can get pumpkin in the u.k. Tesco sell Libby tinned pumpkin as does the Co-op, and I think Asda does as well. Get rid of the liners, you do not need them and they stop the air circulating. Please take care and stay safe.

I have the ninja and the best recommendation I can give is Iceland frozen sausages £2 for a bag of 10. 180*C for 14 minutes from frozen turning half way and my days they are banging!
