is this mod make you get automatically resolution of your monitor like 1080p ,4k , 8k etc once you drag these files in the original download mgs 3 file ? also is is this working with with mgs 2 or just mgs 3 only ?

This mod automatically detects the resolution of your computer, I assume it would also work with 8k.
A similar mod exists for MGS2 but causes graphical issues, making the game difficult to play.

Why are several people are making mods for the same thing? This is like the 4th method I'm seeing and I'm not sure which one will be the best for me, I just want 1080p60.
Besides that, what if konami updates the game and these mods aren't compatible with the updates? Will uninstalling the game and deleting the MGS3 installation folder clean up every trace of this mod?

This is the first mod I saw that didn't involve editing random hex values in the EXE, so at that time I figured it was better than the other option. A few more mods have come out since then that pretty much just do the same thing.
This "mod" doesn't actually modify anything in the literal sense of the word, it just adds more files. To address what you said in the second paragraph, the mod shouldn't become incompatible with any new versions. If Konami fixes resolution support officially, you would be able to remove this mod hassle free by simply removing the three files that you placed in the directory: SUWSF.asi, SUWSF.ini, and xinput1_3.dll. Again, this doesn't change any files, just adds more files that the game can detect and hook onto if they're there.

@@jocyanide Thanks for confirming that. I just tried it and it does what it's supposed to but the master collection launcher for mgs3 started crashing randomly. Now I don't know what to do, skip the launcher somehow or find another mod.

Nice tutorial, not sure but I think it got to 60 fps? or am I seeing things.

On sufficient hardware, the game should run at 60fps with or without this mod installed. So yes, that is correct!

Remove the three files: SUWSF.asi, SUWSF.ini, and xinput1_3.dll and see if it launches again.

Visit this link and scroll down to where it says "Widescreen resolution" after "video".
Follow those instructions for an alternate solution, I'd like to know how that works for you. I might make another tutorial.

That's a good question. I don't know how well it works on low end hardware because I don't have any low end hardware that works. However, I'm inclined to believe it runs pretty well on low end hardware if I had to venture a guess. What kind of hardware are you working with?
