Thanks so much for this very interesting and informative video. It works beautifully - I've just this minute tested it out on my Brother KX395 Convertible - it turned out exactly as I hoped. Look forward to more of your videos.
Since I have never done anything beyond the Stockinette stitch, by moving the lever to slip stitch is that why it only knits the one needle you pull out to D?
This is a used knitting machine; probably made in the 1970s. You can find them on eBay pretty often. Singer SK 700. They can also be called Studio or Silver Reed but the model # is always SK 700. Where are you located?
This doesn’t work on the electronics. There is a way to make it work; search the comments on this post and someone maybe can tell you. Sorry for the misinformation. At the time I made this video I didn’t have an electronic Silver Reed and I just assumed the levers would work the same as the SK 700.
@@AnnaHafermanHello Anna. Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it. It is not an issue for me, because I can manually e wrap quite well. In fact, I enjoy the tactile feel of it. Regards...Kenny.
Dear Anna. I’m your subscriber and a big fan. Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on where can I find any information on setting up a new Singer 560 knitting machine. Please help. Do not have any dealers around. Thank you in advance for any ideas and your time.
Do you have the manual? If not you can download one for free on the machineknittingetc site. I don’t have that particular machine but if you join some of the machine knitting groups on Facebook, you would be able to ask questions about it there.
When I do this instead of simply getting a cast on it begins knitting on the stitches that are cast on. Are the levers on the side of my carriage set incorrectly? They are set at triangle.
@@AnnaHaferman Thank you so much. I tried every way I could think of. I have been away from knitting machines for about 35 years and only just gone back so I have a very vast learning curve to go through plus arthritis in the hands. When I watched you do this cast on I thought great but it was not to be. I did do it by hand and it worked using the weaving brushes.
I tried this but I couldn’t do it.. I concluded that it was because my machine was not lying flat on the table because of the way it was attached to the ribber and motor.
I've been a machine knitter for 40+ years and never knew this trick! Thank you!

My first machine was like this, I loved it, so easy 😊
That's great!
This is like the one I had, wish I still had it, was great
This is great, makes me like casting on more 😂
Nice
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful thanks

Can you do this cast on e wrap every 2nd needle using thicker yarn? I.d like to try this.
Although I have not tried that, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Try it and let me know if it works!
My SK840 knits the needles and I get a sloped piece of stockinette rather than an e wrap cast on. The Cam lever is set for S.J. Is that correct?

I have the same machine, works with tuck but doesn't work in fair isle, can be the memory? Thank you
This machine is not electronic so there is no memory. It has to be a mechanical issue.

Which machine do you have? I can’t remember without going to look at the machine but it looks like the side levers are forward in my video.
Where can i get it and how much
It's only available second-hand. Thanks for watching.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong but is not working on my Singer memo-magic 327 ?
How are the levers on your carriage set?

Thanks!
I have tried this so many times so the SK840 but each time it continues to knit all the needles. Can any one suggest what I am doing wrong please.
I have been told that for some reason it doesn’t work with the electronic machines. I will experiment on my SK 840 and see if there’s a way to do it.

I tried this on a singer sk860 and it didn't work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
It doesn’t work on the electronic Singer machines unfortunately.
@AnnaHaferman
I actually just tried it by putting the side levers to stockinette (forward towards you) and it worked!
@@martha2428 Great!
Price plz
Not for sale, just a demo.

Is your machine electronic? It doesn't work the same way on electronics.
@@AnnaHaferman
No, not electronic…very old in fact. It works well on my Brother which has no ribber but a garter carriage instead.
من فضلكم لو فيه شرح بالعربي
