    Ok, so as a denture wearing person I have input. The day I went into debt for my teeth was the worst day of my life! I was born with soft enamel on my teeth, my life choices weren't the best or wisest and effected my teeth as well. I took care of them as best I could growing up, middle low class house hold so we didn't have money to fix things when I was little. As an adult I lost several teeth over a period of time from stupid stuff, eating pb&j, chips, bite of apple, all took its tole. Eventually ending with me getting all of my lower and top teeth pulled. I know the sunk in look, I feel the late night hours of doing things in the dark so no one sees me, I hide still with dentures in. I to this day have my Temps due to the high costs of getting things repaired or replaced. I do my own fittings at home with a Dremel tool. Single income, 3 kids and they come first. Haven't tasted food in 6yr plus, we all do what we have to, but I can tell you if it was more affordable people would be able to help themselves. Not complaining just a statement, I am sure you do a great job and have excellent workmanship, but dentist have exploited your mouth. As you said in the end, it's about quality of life right, well I am happy and healthy and my family is too, I suffer silently in the dark because the cost of your "quality" life style isn't meant for everyone I guess 😉. We all do what we have to

    I hear ya doc, in regard to the reason you no longer do surgeries until the patient has the full balance. But, hear me out…I as well as others would love to know what the actual material cost is to a dentist that does this work. I know you have your own lab, so for you it’s all about materials. Labor costs would vary from market to market but material costs are the same across the board.
    Now, having said that I know you’re not going to give those details. But, from a patients point of view the jump from actual material costs+labor to the price most implant dental centers charge is absolutely astronomical!
    Going a step further, if your average case is $50k you have to understand and realize that the average American doesn’t make that much in an entire year! Let alone have enough in the bank to afford this procedure.
    You’re essentially clearing more in ONE day from ONE surgery than the average American will earn in 12 months. That’s staggering. And, it’s also the reason so many people will never be able to afford this procedure. I can only imagine how many patients you’d see in a year if your average cost was half that. My guess is, you’d be booked out a year or more in your schedule.
    These surgeries are being done every day in other countries for literally a fraction of what american dentists charge. It’s why dental tourism exists. When two people can go to Cancun, have the procedure, stay for two weeks making a vacation out of it, and come home having spent half of what they would have in America, somethings wrong.
    And yes, I know the surgery is life changing for those who need it. I don’t doubt that for a minute. And of course they will feel it’s money well spent. But, when american dentists know that people are mortgaging their homes, selling vehicles, working three jobs, taking out loans with outrageous interest rates, and going deep into debt just so they can EAT and SMILE, it has to feel a little bit wrong deep down in your soul knowing what someone has had to sacrifice for the procedure.
    Please understand, we know dentists have to put food on their tables, pay bills and want to afford some fun things in life, too. But, I can honestly say I couldn’t work in a profession where I’m asking someone to mortgage their life, just so they can eat again.
    I’ll never live to see this day, but I hope in the future a day comes where some dentists, some place in America, see the absolute crisis right in front of them and treats it as such, at a fair and reasonable price.

      You know what’s crazy the all on4 is supposed to save money because it’s only 4 implants right ? So my question is why the hell has it gotten to be almost $60k for two arches? One individual dental implant cost like $3500 at the most that’s like 35000 for the top of just individual implants ! So your telling me you only get a $10,000 discount now per arch !? The top arch should typically only cost $15000 $30,000 for top and bottom. They have seriously conned people they are making double the money now. Why not just get Individual implants for this price !

    I can see where you’re coming from Dr. Hendricks. So many people have the best intentions, but then things…life happens. Thank you for commenting on my last video I watched of yours about my epilepsy. The surgeons were even amazed the day of surgery how bad my tongue had been bitten over the years from all the grand mal seizures. That’s how I broke my front tooth out, I fell straight forward on a cement floor with a seizure. When the Dr’s at IU Dental Center realized all my medical issues and I told them years ago a dentist was filling a tooth and I went into a seizure during this. He had to end up having several stitches in his finger because I bit down so hard. I was in my 20’s. But when I woke up from the seizure and found out what I did, I cried and cried. But the Dentist came over and talked to me and said it was “nothing” and soothed my fears. He was the nicest dentist, reminds me a lot like you. So when they do my implants it’s gonna be in the hospital under general anesthesia just like when they extracted my teeth. May I send you a before and after picture of myself ….before implants, after implants? Blessings to you always in the beautiful country of Utah. Mrs. Debbie Feighner/ Fort Wayne, Indiana

They're obviously committed since they have laid out such a financial investment. Sorry if a patient who overstays their temporary prosthetic is an inconvenience for you and your staff, but maybe cut your prices. Also, if anyone Google's the price of a hockey puck of zirconia, it has a rather wide range of $79.99 (yes, $80 US Dollars) to as much as .... wait for it, $600, US Dollars! Come'on. I get the large staff, malpractice insurance, equipment, but even if you used the absolute best at $600, this is a $15,000 device?! Seriously? No guilt?

    I am in the process of getting a full upper and lower implant overdentures. The price quoted to me was $ 32,000(after promos and discounts).. my insurance paid 50% and paid the other 50%. My question is can my implant overdentures be upgraded to a all on 4 fix dentures. I’ve been watching videos in TH-cam and this scenario is nowhere to be found. In your professional experience can it be done? How much if it can. I live here in California...

    can you imagine the desperation these patients feel that can't get medical care they need.?yes,teeth are first a medical issue ,. also you can work with your accounting and pro bono is a tax write off .you can set how many per year ,eligibility requirements for assistance ect. I believe you should get paid for your work. doctors negotiate with insurance companies all the time ,as a nurse case manager I negotiated plenty o f contracts . are your prices competitive number one? what I see is prices all over the place. fair price for fair work . I paid 1500.00 for my sister to get dentures. full price up front. she never finished her treatment plan .when she came back later and asked me again to pay for dentures, I told her no ,work it out. to this day she now has worn down jaw bones ect and it ages her. I told her I have always taken care of my teeth. not fair to me and mine , she cried. I love her,not doing that again.I see your side too.

    Okay. If that's the case, why don't you make them stronger So they don't break

    • @implantsecrets
      @implantsecrets  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Make the temporary stronger? The temporary is made of a softer material and their purpose is mainly for cosmetic while you are healing. They are only suppose to last up to 6 months, although some patients have been able user them longer. The reason for softer material is that if a patient chews or does not follow the soft diet, rather than have the implant fail, the device will break. When this happens, the device needs repair, or possibly a new device is needed to be remade. Added cost. A lot of the time "life" happens and the patient doesn't have the needed funds to repair, or replace. If the treatment has the funds in their account we can proceed into their finals when ready. Thanks for watching.

    I think a lot of patients do not understand that the dentist is running a business. He has rent, insurance, employees overhead and his own wage that must come out of what the patients pay. If you have to pay a lot less for a dentist, you need to wonder if he is not paying his employees well, therefore poor work or disgruntled employees, he is not useng the best equipment, he is not getting the education needed to keep up with medicine, etc. there is always a reason and it may not be a good one.

    I think you seem very sweet, however I really do like other dentist's feelings of we are going to get our patients financed right from the very beginning so we don't have to worry they don't have to worry they're just financed and we can get it done all the way through. Maybe that should be something you think about in your practice for your patients. The comment of just not being able to pay for it all right up front is not the right patient for you is really disheartening to me!

    I hate my life because of my dentures. I paid extra for mini implants just so I could eat. My lowers flop and won’t stay down first day of o rings. I can’t chew much of any food. Two bites in and nothing holds. Implants finally failed because of constant shifting of dentures even using glue. My dentist says some people just always have to use glue with implants. I can’t chew anything with out issues. I don’t care about eating special foods I would just love to eat anything without issues. It’s been years and I’ve been terribly miserable. They look good but that’s it’s. And I will NEVER be able to afford something like this. It’s pretty sad for those that NEED something to just work. I don’t thing someone should try to bargain with a DR. And these procedures are understandably costly as there is a lot that goes into it.

    My sister in law found this dentist and was so excited. She had been waiting for quite a while hoping to find a dentist that she liked, might be able to afford and wasn’t too far away. She lives in California but was willing to travel to Utah.
    She was hopeful that Dr.Hendricks would be the end of her search for just the right place. Unfortunately it didn’t work out. It turned out that the cost for her surgery was only just under 5k less than an implant center she consulted with in Southern California.
    The only reason I’m leaving the comment is because her English isn’t great, and she asked me to do it. She said she’d watched many of the videos and based on what she’d heard in the them she assumed that leaving a larger market like LA and flying to Utah would lower the cost enough to where she could afford it. She didn’t need any of the extra things done like sinus lifts, bone grafting or any gum issues. She ended up deciding that the 5k she’d potentially save would be eaten up in travel costs and return visits so she ended up having it done in CA.
    The main reason she wanted to leave this comment is because she doesn’t want other people to get their hopes up like she did. Her hope was that the cost difference between LA and Utah would be significant. Sadly, it wasn’t. She recently had her surgery, and is doing great!

    • @abayady1
      @abayady1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, this comment serves no purpose, and I will explain why.
      1. "She didn’t need any of the extra things done like sinus lifts, bone grafting or any gum issues" those are not extra things, those could play a huge role in the final outcome fo the final restoration. This seems like a vague statement coming from someone who is not educated enough in the field.
      2. There is a market for everyone. CA, especially in LA, dental offices are packed next to each other. More than welcome to shop around and see where you can get a cheaper (NOT BETTER) price.
      3. Just because one office charges more or less than the other office does not mean that the service is better or worse than at the other dental office. Services are different, markets are different, doctor's experience is different. Here in PA, for a zirconia screw-retained full arch bridge prices greatly vary from one location to another. You can see a wide range between 20K and 40K.
      4. If 5K was that big of an issue, I am sure you can find much cheaper services at more rural areas.
      5. Do not get people who MUST leave a negative review/comment for no damn reason. You are pretty much trying to hurt one's business because YOU BELIEVE THAT THIS PARTICULAR DENTIST CHARGES 5K MORE. Quality vs. quantity.
      Stay true to yourself. Props to Dr. H for sharing🤙🏻

    • @lilyalvarez1925
      @lilyalvarez1925 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This isn’t a debate. Her point was that many of Dr. Hendricks videos state that he’s less expensive than larger markets like LA, etc. She pinned her hopes on that and hoped she would be able to afford to have Dr.Hendricks do the surgery. When she found out it wasn’t that much less she was disappointed. Nothing more, nothing less. She wants other people to be prepared. Have a good day.
