- I am a lifelong fan of the James Bond film franchise, so I created this channel to share and discuss ranked lists with fellow Bond aficionados! For this countdown, I will be ranking my top ten pre-title sequences - The edge-of-your-seat cliffhangers that have inspired generations of moviegoers and filmmakers alike. Please remember that everything is subjective and these are just my personal opinions, so be sure to comment respectfully!

Great content once again, Skyfall and Goldeneye are just awesome, but thanks for mentioning Octopussy on your list, I think Octopussy overall is criminally underrated, even though that’s an unpopular opinion

I’d say it’s one of Moores best overall. I can’t imagine what it would be like to see it with Moore looking as young as he did in Live and Let Die

Yes. As far as scripting goes, I really think Octopussy is up there with Goldeneye.
OHMSS would probably be in my top 5. Solid ranking, if only the rest of DaD kept the tone of the opening, it could have been amazing
Indeed DAD had a solid spy beginning but petered out toward the final chapter .
Solid list. However, my number 1 is Specter. In particular, I love the opening one-shot sequence. I love the music. It’s the only one I frequently rewatch on TH-cam.
The fixing the cuff links is bad ass.

A fun one for sure - Just didn't make my personal top ten.
One of mine is Quantum of Solace, action packed and 1st and only Bond film to start where the previous film left off.
I'd like to add my favorite post title scene from Octopussy, the twin knife throwers, killing 008? I hate clowns, those two are the real heroes of that film.
Maybe Quantum of Solace would be deserving if the cameraman weren't having an epileptic seizure while filming.

I really appreciate the stunt work in that sequence, but I'm just taken out of it by all the continuity errors between the footage of the stunt men and the inserts of the actors.
Fantastic video, as always! The way you can coherently and concisely list what makes each title sequence special is definitely your biggest appeal as a channel.
Honestly, my favorite pre-titles might just be You Only Live Twice, if for nothing more than the sheer atmosphere and tension that grows alongside John Barry's iconic score. Fantastic imagery, wonderful suspense, intriguing mystery, all cultivating into a shocking end with Bond found dead before the story begins, and smoothly transitioning in to the beautiful Nancy Sinatra title song. It's absolutely brilliant!

Tough to say but I think off the top of my head I'm gonna say Moonraker, From Russia with Love, No Time To Die, You only Live Twice, and then either OHMSS or Tomorrow Never Dies.

It's an undeniable all-timer!
I would include Spectre as an honorable mention and I've always liked Tomorrow Never Dies an underated Bond generic but a lot of fun
I personally find Spectre's opening to be marred by the sepia filter, as well as some dodgy VFX.
I do love the opening to Moonraker, just for it originality, but I think Martin Grace hanging onto that Helicopter in For Your Eyes Only is pretty amazing…

Another incredible video dude, although I do think the intro to License to Kill does deserve a spot. It just stayed with me more than some of the others even if the pacing is a little off. But couldn’t agree more with the rest of the list 🎉Oof and spectre

I agree you have got die another day up so high. The opening sequence and the fencing scene are the only good bits in the film. But they are more rememberable than most scenes.
Thunderball had an awesome pre-title sequence as well as Moonraker.

Not only was the opening of skyfall amazing but just the end of the opening right to the opening song is perfection.
Very few films end the opening like that where it's a smooth transition into the opening credits. Not to mention the song itself perfectly describes all this movie is going to be

I'm not a pom but seeing that union jack open up in Spy was so Bond, so satisfying, you gotta cheer.
Amazing work on the video! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and was nodding along a lot of the time like at the fact that Brosnan is the King of the Pre-Title Sequence or at the end when you said that Craig's tenure skipped over Bond in his best years, which is probably the reason he's my least favourite 007. “This is the kind of sequence the franchise needs if it’s going to compete with the likes of Tom Cruise and Christopher Nolan”??? Puhleeez, James Bond sets the standard.
It set the standard originally, but unfortunately it hasn't always upheld it, and I actually think a lot of fans feel that the action of the most recent Mission: Impossible films has been superior to that of the last couple Bonds.
Definitely think Spectre shouuld be top 3..The Rsst of the movie wasnt great, but that opening scene is awesome.

I totally agree. Skyfall precredit sequence is the best. It has it all. Edge of the seat action drama some humour and a cliff hanger. I was blown away the first time I saw it .
