I really appreciate the stunt work in that sequence, but I'm just taken out of it by all the continuity errors between the footage of the stunt men and the inserts of the actors.
They could have not included Jaws to make the scene whole or lesson the comical aspects but this scene blew many fans away. The idea of jumping off a plane without a parachute was novel. Jaws stunt man was too small of course as was his white mouth guard.
Fantastic video, as always! The way you can coherently and concisely list what makes each title sequence special is definitely your biggest appeal as a channel. Honestly, my favorite pre-titles might just be You Only Live Twice, if for nothing more than the sheer atmosphere and tension that grows alongside John Barry's iconic score. Fantastic imagery, wonderful suspense, intriguing mystery, all cultivating into a shocking end with Bond found dead before the story begins, and smoothly transitioning in to the beautiful Nancy Sinatra title song. It's absolutely brilliant!
Solid list. However, my number 1 is Specter. In particular, I love the opening one-shot sequence. I love the music. It’s the only one I frequently rewatch on TH-cam.
In the heat of a pursuit there is a point where Craig's Bond completely loses control and he becomes an irrational maniac. The embassy in Royale and this perfectly showcase how unhinged he can get.
Great content once again, Skyfall and Goldeneye are just awesome, but thanks for mentioning Octopussy on your list, I think Octopussy overall is criminally underrated, even though that’s an unpopular opinion
Octopussy is underrated entirely! I’d say it’s one of Moores best overall. I can’t imagine what it would be like to see it with Moore looking as young as he did in Live and Let Die
I do love the opening to Moonraker, just for it originality, but I think Martin Grace hanging onto that Helicopter in For Your Eyes Only is pretty amazing…
My top ten pre-title teasers: The Spy Who Loved Me Goldfinger No Time To Die Skyfall Spectre Thunderball Casino Royale From Russia With Love Octopussy On Her Majesty's Secret Service honorable mention: Moonraker
My Personal favourite top ten opening Sequence 10 Tomorrow NEVER Dies 9 NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN 8 THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS 7 MOONRAKER 6 TMWGG 5 YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE 4 GOLDENEYE 3 OHMSS 2 SPECTRE 1 FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE 18:40 ❤
My personal top 10 Bond pre-title sequence: 10. For Your Eyes Only 9. Casino Royale 8. Octopussy 7. License to Kill 6. Moonraker 5. Goldeneye 4. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 3. The World Is Not Enough 2. The Spy Who Loved Me 1. The Living Daylights
One of mine is Quantum of Solace, action packed and 1st and only Bond film to start where the previous film left off. I'd like to add my favorite post title scene from Octopussy, the twin knife throwers, killing 008? I hate clowns, those two are the real heroes of that film.
Another incredible video dude, although I do think the intro to License to Kill does deserve a spot. It just stayed with me more than some of the others even if the pacing is a little off. But couldn’t agree more with the rest of the list 🎉Oof and spectre
Man. I just discovered your channel today. You’re so eloquent and articulate. It moved me a lot to notice we appreciate very similar things in the sequences you chose! I shed an unexpected tear when you commented about M’s “his job” line in Tomorrow Never Dies. Only one missing from the list for me would be Moonraker, but overall it’s right on point!
Amazing work on the video! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and was nodding along a lot of the time like at the fact that Brosnan is the King of the Pre-Title Sequence or at the end when you said that Craig's tenure skipped over Bond in his best years, which is probably the reason he's my least favourite 007. Also 9 out of 10 are on my Top-10 as well :) Here's my (full) ranking of the Pre-Title Sequences: 1) The World Is Not Enough 2) Tomorrow Never Dies 3) GoldenEye 4) Goldfinger 5) Skyfall 6) The Living Daylights 7) Octopussy 8) Spectre 9) The Spy Who Loved Me 10) Die Another Day 11) For Your Eyes Only 12) On Her Majesty's Secret Service 13) No Time To Die 14) Casino Royale 15) Thunderball 16) Moonraker 17) Licence To Kill 18) A View To A Kill 19) Diamonds Are Forever 20) Quantum of Solace 21) The Man With The Golden Gun 22) From Russia With Love 23) You Only Live Twice 24) Live And Let Die
Tough to say but I think off the top of my head I'm gonna say Moonraker, From Russia with Love, No Time To Die, You only Live Twice, and then either OHMSS or Tomorrow Never Dies.
Not only was the opening of skyfall amazing but just the end of the opening right to the opening song is perfection. Very few films end the opening like that where it's a smooth transition into the opening credits. Not to mention the song itself perfectly describes all this movie is going to be
Whats ironic about this video reminder if you remember Casino Royale Bond was young and top of his game now instead of hanging on the tractor he walks across it .😮😅
Excellent choices and 9 out of the top 10 are in mine. HM: For Your Eyes Only 10. Die Another Day 9. Goldfinger 8. Moonraker 7. Tomorrow Never Dies 6. The Spy Who Loved Me 5. The Living Daylights 4. Octopussy 3. The World Is Not Enough 2. Skyfall 1. GoldenEye
I agree you have got die another day up so high. The opening sequence and the fencing scene are the only good bits in the film. But they are more rememberable than most scenes.
My top 10: 1 The Spy Who Loved me 2 Goldfinger 3 Thunderball 4 The Living Daylights 5 Skyfall 6 Goldeneye 7 Casino Royale 8 The world is not enough 9 Tomorrow never dies 10 Licence To Kill
My Top Ten (Chronological, not Ranked) Goldfinger The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy The Living Daylights Goldeneye Tomorrow Never Dies Casino Royale Skyfall
I‘d love to know your bottom five as well. The one dead last for me is For Your Eyes Only. I know it’s supposed to be Blofeld and the end of an old fight between them. But it’s campy to the point of being cringe. And the fact that it starts off at Tracy‘s grave underscores how widely off the sequence and „Blofeld‘s“ end is compared to the tragedy of the end of OHMSS..
I totally agree. Skyfall precredit sequence is the best. It has it all. Edge of the seat action drama some humour and a cliff hanger. I was blown away the first time I saw it .
I really appreciate the stunt work in that sequence, but I'm just taken out of it by all the continuity errors between the footage of the stunt men and the inserts of the actors.
“This is the kind of sequence the franchise needs if it’s going to compete with the likes of Tom Cruise and Christopher Nolan”??? Puhleeez, James Bond sets the standard.
It set the standard originally, but unfortunately it hasn't always upheld it, and I actually think a lot of fans feel that the action of the most recent Mission: Impossible films has been superior to that of the last couple Bonds.
I really appreciate the stunt work in that sequence, but I'm just taken out of it by all the continuity errors between the footage of the stunt men and the inserts of the actors.
I would have out Thunderball opening sequence which was better than the movie in the list over Goldfinger Casino Royals opening is the best thing about Craig's very bad Bond movies
is there anything he cannot drive... from helicopters, to bulldozers, to motorbikes to boats to planes to skis. Never mind cars, this is a list on its own.
wow i would have gave the video unlike. if goldeneye wasn't the first..or 2nd this bond is crazy shit man. the tank scene and the heroine everything about the movie was so mass!!!
I’d like to include Moonraker. Such impressive stunt work. It could take the place of one of the Brosnan ones
I really appreciate the stunt work in that sequence, but I'm just taken out of it by all the continuity errors between the footage of the stunt men and the inserts of the actors.

Thank you - I work really hard on these, so I'm glad that my efforts to communicate my feelings are successful!
Great work on this! I think Spectre deserves at least an honorable mention too.
no
@@purefoldnz3070 Yes.
SPECTRE'S pre-title sequence is so good it made me think "This will be the best 007 film ever made". Turns out to be an ok film at best.
@@RGK93 bahaha no, in Bond rankings which fans do a lot its usually dead last and for a good reason
@@purefoldnz3070 Bahaha yes, as mediocre as it is, is still better tha Die Another Day and all the Roger Moore era crap.

Octopussy underrated, completely agree. The pre title sequence, the title song, all of it simply excellent
Yes. As far as scripting goes, I really think Octopussy is up there with Goldeneye.
I do love the opening to Moonraker, just for it originality, but I think Martin Grace hanging onto that Helicopter in For Your Eyes Only is pretty amazing…
This is an amazing video. I couldn't subscribe quick enough🔥🔥 Thank you for the work you put into this.
OHMSS would probably be in my top 5. Solid ranking, if only the rest of DaD kept the tone of the opening, it could have been amazing
Indeed DAD had a solid spy beginning but petered out toward the final chapter .

Where's Moonraker????
A fun one for sure - Just didn't make my personal top ten.
I'm not a pom but seeing that union jack open up in Spy was so Bond, so satisfying, you gotta cheer.
I would include Spectre as an honorable mention and I've always liked Tomorrow Never Dies an underated Bond generic but a lot of fun
I personally find Spectre's opening to be marred by the sepia filter, as well as some dodgy VFX.
Well done sir. Love all your choices. You have great taste.
