I relate to Hedwig's "she thinks I'm stupid and make silly mistakes." I hardly got compliments growing up, and was berated by "you are such an idiot" or "you just had to be the most useless kid out of all of you, why can't you ever think?"
The thing I like about this scene is that Casey understands Kevin's DID whilst the others think he is just plain crazy and even after The Beast tried to kill Casey she is still wanting to help him
As creepy as this character (er...characters) is....I have to admit, I find Hedwig adorable. He's just a child. He's innocent. And he seemed so proud of himself when he told the girls how old he was. You could see it in how he sat up straight when he said it. And James McAvoy's acting is absolutely FLAWLESS in this scene. I love how he goes from sweet and playful Hedwig when he first meets the girls, to Hedwig being confused and a bit scared when Casey is manipulating him, to then PANICKING and fleeing the room. And then, if memory serves, he slips right into Dennis.
I think more so Hedwig is the 9 year old Kevin wanted to be.....or was......until his father went away. Patricia and Dennis might have been Kevin’s foster parents after they found he was abused. Patricia tries to be sweet by making P&J sandwiches and other stuff and also reassuring that Dennis can’t harm him. Dennis I think is a serious germaphobic. He also doesn’t like people touching his things mainly due to that reason. Patricia probably let Kevin/Hedwig play with Dennis’s things every once in awhile without him knowing because if he’d had known he’d have freaked. More so I don’t think Dennis never wanted a foster kid and Patricia did. Despite Patricia probably taking care of Kevin 98% of the time Dennis was still stressed out about the 2% of the time he had to take care of Kevin. More so Kevin refers to them as Mr. Dennis and Miss Patricia.

James McAvoy is a fucking beast (figuratively)!! To act all of these personalities in a different manner is a huge, daunting task for any actor to do. The fact that he took on this project at the last minute and still delivered is a testament to his ability. Can't wait to see what he does in Glass!
This scene from the movie confused me greatly, I get the girls wanted leave, but lying to a personality that was a 9 year old boy, was clearly a low blow even by normal standards. (Yes I know the girls didn't know about the split personality disorder at this point of the movie)
she was a victim of abuse just like kevin so had an understanding on how to survive , remember when the doctor asked dennis when he came in existence he felt really uncomfortable to answer...i believe he was sexually abused and so was she , remember her prick uncle was an animal...beast too, in a sense she was using manipulated tactics that used on her..... the broken are the more evolved...natural selection....u die out or you survive....
