    Listen to what Kemba said, ""I could be pissed, but at the end of the day there are some young guys here who look up to me. Maybe I can be a role model. I love being around my teammates and I'm going to cheer them on until I can't anymore.""

    Those sequences with Taj Gibson look SOOOOO different from the other sequences. Taj Gibson actually makes smart team plays while a lot of the other sequences look like 1-2 man actions with everyone else just kind of lackadaisically moving around without thinking (fournier) or just standing on the perimeter thinking they are spacing. I lived in Chicago during the Bulls championships and through Tibs time as coach. I noticed three things about his coaching style. First, he coaches every offensive possession like it's the last minute of game 7 of the NBA finals. He has a short bench rotation and starters play lots of minutes. Finally, it's defense, defense, not offensive skills that he prefers. In short, great coaches adjust to the game, change their ways of dealing with players, Tibs hasn't changed. He's an old style NBA coach in a players league, he's not for todays modern game. He worn out his welcome in Chi, MN, and my guess is he won't last long in NY either.

    Hate to say it but the Knicks are a mess again. The Fournier contract is a disaster that they’ll have to attach 1st round picks to to get out of. Randle clearly overachieved last year- he’ll never again shoot over 40% from 3 and his defensive intensity has been way less consistent. Every guard on the team can easily be beaten off the dribble leading to constant wide open 3s and easy put backs. They’re also too good to tank for a top 5 pick. I honestly have no idea where they go from here to get better

      Did you forget what Kemba did in playoffs for Boston Celtics??? Remember that Miami series??? Kemba got played out of the floor. Too small to guard, he was defensive liability and he couldn’t buy making a bucket or shooting. That was the reason BOS decided to cut him. Stop making Kemba the victim. He’s not the same player when he was at Hornets and he hasn’t proved ANYTHING that he is elite in the playoffs. I easily say Isiah Thomas (pre-injury) was a much better player in the playoffs then Kemba was as in the playoffs.

    Kemba is the poor man's Dame. A combo guard that can go off offensively at any given night, but is always a defensive liability, does not facilitate the offense well enough and is very ball heavy. Somewhat, like how Russ runs an offense, his 1st option is to get a bucket, if that is not possible in any way, that's when he passes. Harden has always been like this too.

    • @smackddd3339
      @smackddd3339 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think Terry Stots or Thibs know how to play 2020's basketball. Kemba could be a PG for a chip level team, but no space to operate in picks and no elite wing to switch his match ups defensively doesn't play in Kemba's favor, thus letting him out to dry on National TV.

    Great job- you should send this to the Knicks coaching staff. The Knicks are NOT okay. Randle had a good year last year but there were lots of holes in his game. He was near the bottom in scoring in last-minute possessions and was completely exposed in the playoffs. What did that mean? That he wasn't a TRUE 1st (or even second option) on a contending team. The Knicks lucked out on Kemba because OKC didn't want him and Fournier was never known for his defense. The Knicks made a HUGE mistake letting Reggie Bullock walk when we could have gotten him for a lot cheaper. I also noticed that the Knicks don't look for Robinson nearly as much as they did last year. Seems like everyone is interested in jacking 3s and padding their stats versus playing for each other like they did last year.

    totally classless way to handle Kemba Walker's situation, including the permanent benching.
    Walker deserves more respect and fails deserving his genius of a coach announcing the benching to the world. There are ways to reduce playing time other than the "Tibbs method".
    As to Randle, this is just bad bad coaching. It was neither Walker or Randle, but "the coach". It became apparent in the playoffs last year that Knicks coaching staff is clueless on the O side and this year that they are clueless on the D side as well.

  • @LEBATO
    @LEBATO 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I feel Kemba has always been overrated (not a max player IMO) but he definitely belongs in any team rotation. I think the problem is the Knicks overall and rightfully called out Randle. If your number one option is Randle, you are doomed. He's good don't get me wrong, but on a team that wants to contend, Randle should *at most* be your number two guy. He's too inefficient offensively and outside of 1:1 defense, I think he is not a very good defender.

  • @violing613
    @violing613 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lack of good P&R ball handler has been the biggest problem for Knicks since they ever had Jason Kidd& Felton on 12-13 season.
    Last season Knicks is the only playoff team without franchise ball handler. If these's a one, usually Rose is limited to play at 25 mins.
    Although Jokic& Giannis are much better, they still have Murray or Holiday.
    Randle play bad so far, lack a good ball handler makes it looks even worse on him.
    Last season Hawks showed how to defense him and it's still workable.
    If Knicks make move on him I won't surprise, Pacers has clicked the first button.
    Knicks have too many guards is another problem, Bullock and Payton out, Fournier and Walker in, plus they draft 2 guards this season, in this big wings era, it have to pay the price. Lack of play time is hard to raise the value for players.

    I saw this coming since before the season began.
    Knicks had success as a young team without a true star - although Randle has been stepping up big as a Knick.
    Kemba is an aging scorer, not known for distributing the ball. Tibbs is a defence first guy, and Kemba doesn't give a lot on that end. Kemba is slowing down while the rest of the Knicks are picking up pace. He's not a good enough scorer to make up for that in a league with so many great scorers.
    I simply never saw the fit.

  • @futurehofer1564
