Brilliant work i built this kit a lot of years ago but seeing your work and what can be achieved now i may have to build another cant wait for the next instalment huge thumbs up
This is my favorite build to watch along. I've got this model on my shelf, PE and resin parts, but it's a daunting task and I'm quite certain I'm not ready to tackle it just yet. However, I do know where I'm going to look when it's finally time. Cheers and thank you!
Thank you! I think this is a good kit, and the later versions are even better. I think one can get a great model from building it as-is. I am putting a lot of extra work into it because I like customizing kits and enjoy the process. I hope you enjoy your build, and thanks for watching!
GREAT video!!! I have the Revell version and haven't started on it yet. I do my panel lines the same as you with one difference. In stead of using electrical tape as my guide, I use Dymo plastic label maker tape. It's at least twice as think as the electrical tape and leaves no residue. I'll have to order the photo etch kit. I think that really adds to the model. Thank you for making this video!!!
Could you do a video on working with photo etch. I somehow bend it wrong or get it to bend the way I want. And what do you use to get the pieces off the tree.
I'm rather new to photoetch myself, so I don't feel qualified to make a tutorial video. But I'll tell you how I cut the pieces off the tree. I use inexpensive nippers to cut the part from the sheet. The nippers have a medium to heavy-duty blade (a thin blade nipper might break), and I use inexpensive ones because I don't mind if the brass dulls the blade over time. If a part has had a lot of etching, it can be very thin. For such thin parts, I don't use the nippers because they can bend and twist the parts. Instead, I use an old hobby blade to cut out from the sheet. I learned not to cut it on my cutting mat because it has too much give and bends the parts. Instead, I place the photoetch sheet on a piece of tile to give a hard surface to cut against. This dulls a hobby blade very quickly, so that's why I use an old one. Just be careful because you have to use a bit of force to cut through the brass. It usually takes a few cuts to break through, but it's the best method I've found so far.
Absolutely amazing work. Can't wait to see the final result. You inspired me to pick up a kit of my own to work on.
Thank you! It has been fun. I hope you have a great build!
Wow. Really enjoying the level of detail you’re covering and deeply appreciate your calm, smooth and thorough presentation style. Thank you.
Hey, thank you so much. This feedback is great to hear. I really appreciate it.

@@mistakeman Thanks for the encouragement! Appreciate it very much.
(Glad I've got more than one of those kits to try my luck on...)
Great work, it’s coming along nicely. Good tip about using the window photo etch piece and black paint 👍
She’s going to be a beauty when finished.
Thank you! I think she'll be great. I'm certainly pleased with the results so far.

Thank you! I've heard others recommend the Dymo tape. I'll have to try it out.
Your attention to detail is exceptional. Thanks for the photoetch help! Nice work.
Thank you, I appreciate it.

Sir, can I hire you to build my model? I don't have the patience 😮
I'm flattered by your request, thank you, but this is a hobby for me. I'm not looking to do commission builds right now. Thank you for watching!
