Yeah, doing full caged cars meant for thrashing ... and doing it right ... takes quite a few man hours. So the smaller the team, the larger the individual time consumption. I got faith in Sarah making this pretty nice tho. Plenty of content to go on the Focus S-Spec (Sarah Special) 😉
PS I saw there are a couple companies offering 5 lug conversions, but they aren't "cheap" as it were, it's basically the same cost as replacing all the hubs anyhow.

RIP Ken Block Glad to see the Focus back. I doubt you could get Vantablack, but how about Black 3.0 for the dash instead of the flocking. It’s supposed to absorb about 98% of light
The 2002 SVT or ST170Ford Focus 99 here in Straya 🇦🇺, has adjustable axles. You could space the axles out, while keeping the wheels bolted directly to the hubs. Using the wheels you have. It makes it easy to change the vehicles wheel track during a Rally. There's many sizes.

I never comment on how you dress. I like all styles and colors. But you know how to make it work in relation with the cars that you review or work on. But that DC shirt was a shot straight to the ❤️ Again, you did it your way and that's awesome.👌
Very classy tribute to Mr. Block. I used to own a 2001 Focus ZX3, it was probably the most fun car I've ever owned. Towards the end of its life I would put winter tires on it take it out on the forestry roads around where I live and pretend I was a rally driver, I was 35. What a great little car. I'm super excited to see how your Focus turns out, but slightly more excited to see you give it the beans it deserves.... For all Focus kind.
Compared to Bad Obsession Motorsports, Sarah's projects are flash projects (she finishes them in the same decade). But then she uses OEM parts and doesn't have to make a bijillion brackets. Fewer tea breaks too - lol!

Just to let you know, the wheel stud pattern is 4*108 in Europe and US, but 4*100 in Australia. And focus's are 5*108 which is the same pattern M-Sport use on the later fiesta builds. Nice tribute btw #43ver
The Celica project has to wait because at this time of the year, shipping delays are a fact of life. Sarah’s not one to spend her time twiddling her thumbs, so the Ford Focus will be another project. As an automotive restorer, she can walk and chew gum at the same time. Considering the car is a Ford import from Europe, its not something you see every day in the States. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I've come to appreciate these more subtle tributes to Ken lately Sarah. Mainly because of all the 'Me 1st!' and 'LOOK AT ME!!!' attention mongers that are trying to cash in with disrespectful content on their media platforms that are boarding on inappropriate. The actions over words means of showing your respect like this are what we need now as we mourn the loss of a person who was much more than just a great wheelman. The over the top/full of glory action video tributes can wait until they are fine tuned and done well enough to to truly establish Ken's impact on all the people he had an effect upon during his journey in this thing called life. I'm sorry to learn of Ken B. through your awesome channel because i know you appreciated him and admired his accomplishments. You seem in okay spirits.. and don't sweat that you are off the new build and back in Focus. ❤
I prefer black el cantera / faux suede on the dashboard over flocking . And just clean it with compressed air and a sticky tape lint roller . 😉 I also had fun removing my headlights because the nut clip for the flange bolts were just spinning so I drilled them out then used vice grips to remove the bolts . 🤦♀️
Nice video as always, watching Ken Block race in person has been on my bucket list for a long time. He made such an impact with everything he did, from DC to motor sports to being a father and family man. Thanks for sharing Sarah, glad to see the Focus coming back to life. Looking forward to it.
NGL. I was low-key worried that you'd given up on this project after getting Ur Quattro. Got another SVTF fall of '21 and Sir Codsworth was amongst my inspirations. I've decided going towards a Rallycross/potential-RallySprint build since it'd be too much work to restore it (it's in ROUGH shape). Watching you progress on yours gives some insight as to how far I'd want to go into my build direction. Thanks for sharing!
I never watched Ken Blocks videos but when I heard "TH-camr and rally driver Ken Block[...]" on the radio in the morning I still thought 'NO, DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT' but sure enough they did. I'm exited to see some progress on the Focus; I bumped into your channel years ago when I was looking around the web for MK1 Focus content because I was thinking about buying one at the time. It must have been that first video on it in 2019.
Hi the type of wheel's back in day are called (J) rime's stand steel wheel the centre was reared, then with outer half to the centre rime's now was cut and then widen by 1to 1.5 inches . john from uk
Before you get too far you may want to weld up the grills in the front floor/bottom of the bulkhead. They are part of the crumple system and when beaten hard the body will move and shut/expand door and wing gaps. 👍🇬🇧👍

Yay for Focus focus!! Have you seen the articles that Grassroots Motorsports did a few years ago on their rally Ross Focus? They saw some structural issues with the strut towers deflecting under rallycross use. Might be worth checking that to see if some reinforcing might be wise. Be a pity to have that kind of issue when the car’s finally being used the way Ken intended…

Braid can make custom fitment for wheels, their lower end wheels are not light, but reasonably priced and strong.
