Your Way of explanation is awesome. By watching many videos of yours it cleared my some concepts of control wiring. Many newbies are getting benefits from your vast experiences. Thanks a lot. 😊
I see; I forgot about this part 0:56. When I saw the blue wires coming from the ice cube relay I thought you were actually sending voltage to the terminals on the VFD. Thanks for your reply! Your videos are very helpful.
Yes. I would run my control power out to the disconnect and back so that when the disconnect is opened you loose the run command to the drive. Just be careful not to run low voltage, 24volt ect..., out to the disconnect. We typically use a 120 volt control circuit out to the disconnect with the motor wiring and back to the control panel. We install a 120 volt relay and use the relay to interrupt the start command.
Make sure when dealing with these your start signal type is set properly i just did a 523 about an hour ago and had to factory default it to allow me to move the start (2 wire) to 02/common(11) start config was on program p046 p048 p050 all had to be set to start signal 2 i.e. pin 2 and common to make the forward start possible.
Thank you for posting and explaining the setup. I have an old 3 phase saw that I'm restoring and it looks like this set up would be a great way to use the existing old relay controlled start/stop switch. Could you post a link for the Ice cube relay and 110 switch? So I can purchase the same setup. Thanks again!
William S . The control voltage is coming from an internal power supply inside the drive. So all you need with the drive programmed for two wire start is to close the circuit.
How can we change the standard function of a VFD terminal using parameters only. Eg, making a moter to rotate in reverse direction by giving the command to the forward terminal (02). I'm using powerflex 525 VFD. Ps interchange of wire connection is not the option it has to be done by changing some parameters only. Please help!
Hi I am from st Martin I have a 110 motor connect to a drum switch for forward stop and reverse.the thing is the drum switch get worn out like six months so I want to know if you can show me how to wire 3 push buttons forward stop and reverse .i have an extension cord that I hook up to the drum switch where I get my 110 volt I would like to know if the same principle can work with the push button please help me out if you can
Sarfraz Ally, thanks for your comments. Check out my other forward and reverse video. I walk you through how to wire that up. th-cam.com/video/fMTvZ60y0z0/w-d-xo.html
I am a retired Journeyman Electrician. My son is getting into an apprenticeship soon. He and I will be watching your channel. Good job, Thanks.

Very good explanation. So your recommendation is to have an auxiliary contact in the service disconnect to shut of motor/ VFD.

You make some of the best videos brother. Keep on making videos. Thanks
Wow, this was one of the better videos I've seen on setting up the AB PF4. Thanks.
Very useful. As usual.
Wish you could of zoomed in on the terminals and powerflex it will gave a better view/idea of the whole thing but great stuff!!
another damn good video. wish there were more. thank you sir

Are those parameter the same for a 525 ?

Good job sir g
This would be much more better if shown together with its circuit diagram for easy circuit analysis......
Good explanation
were you using 110v for terminals (11 and 2)?
No. Terminals 2 and 11 are simply going through a normal open contact on the relay. When that contact closes the drive starts.
@@AccessToPower what number slots did you use the jumper for in the beginning of the video in order to the drive to start?
Hey teacher i would like to ask you a question , how long can I run a 24vdc loop for estop from control strip in VFd with two wire control? Thanks
What did yo use to power vfd I bought 3 phase do I need inverter now or how to power it up from 120V household?
I'm trying to use the same principle for siemens micromaster 420 invector but is not working, Please help me out.
so 8 and 6 are going to the VFD, does one of those have 24+ to its terminal?

Can you show us how to manually run a motor with a drive
I’ll do that in a future video
