Glad I was able to put the machine together by myself and by watching the video I realized I had the main tube connected wrong🤦🏽 Thanks again! I really appreciate this!!

      Yes, the same for me: "Here's your CPAP machine. Now out the door with you."
      And when I went back for my "Orientation". It literally consisted of me, pointing
      and touching things and saying: "What's that?" and "What does that do?"
      So here I am on TH-cam desperately searching for information on my
      CPAP machine. Very happy that I found this video. Thank you!

    I've learned more here than from my sleep therapist. For instance, if I lower the humidity temp the less condensation in my hose, ergo less gurgling rom the cpap machine. Thanks

      While I was watching your video, I played around with my machine and gave it a go and I must say it was much much better. I still almost ran out of water, so I might have to turn the temperature down a bit (also the pressure),to fine tune it.

      Hi Nik! You might want to try turning your machine to manual mode. Go to My Options-Climate Control-Manual. It sounds like your Climate Control is set to auto. When it is set to auto it will automatically reset the humidity setting back to 4. With the Climate Control to auto, changing the humidity setting does not change humidity levels. Only changing the Tube Temperature changes the patient humidity level.

    • @LiveWellCPAP
      @LiveWellCPAP  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lorenaduran492
      Thanks for the question! The tickle in the throat is most likely because your temperature and humidity are not exactly where you would like them.
      To increase humidity, you would increase the tube temperature. Just like humidity outdoors, it is created from warmth in the environment. Humidity equals warmer temperature.
      However, you also are asking to lower the warmth.
      Unfortunately, if you want to be less dry, you will need to turn up the temperature of the tube.
      If you would rather have a cooler temperature; you can lower both the tube temperature and the humidity.

    Can I ask when starting the volume of air is 4 and the top is 10 does it go up to 10 and stay at that or does it just go to 19 if you have an apnea?

    • @LiveWellCPAP
      @LiveWellCPAP  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roz, thanks for the question. The pressures are set differently for each individual based on what your doctor's prescription reads. Generally, you will have a minimum pressure and then a maximum. Your machine will then adjust the pressure needed to open your airway. If your pressures are 4 minimum and 10 maximum, the lowest pressure you will get is a 4 and it can go all the way to 10 if it is sensing that you need more pressure to open your airway.

    • @LiveWellCPAP

      Hi there, that would be to believe the tube is not completely on or you possibly don’t have a heated tube. Thanks for pointing this out, and I should have mentioned this. Those settings only appear if you have a heated tube. To tell if you have a heated tube, you can unplug it and see if there is an electrical chip that fits into your CPAP. If not, then you have a non-heated tube and you can't change tube temperature. If you would like a heated tube, you can reach out to your supplier. Thanks!

    So....I cannot change the pressure myself? Can adjust the ramp time to ZERO and have the air flow full force immediately?

      If you are talking about your daily events per hour yes it should be fine. Go to your my air app click history click report, if your average AHI is below 5 than you are good. sense you are new you should be fine with the numbers.

      If it does not show up then that means you do not have a heated tube connected. If it is non-heated tube then only the Humidity setting is available. I you are getting dry you can increase the humidity but it will rely on how warm or cold your room is.

    This trend of auto cpaps is unfortunate. You actually had more control over regular cpaps because you could precisely set the pressure.

    I am amazed that you advocate your modem being left on - it is NOT "like your cell phone"!
    Your data gets sent to Resmed, without permission - leaving the modem on is apparently tacit permission. It is outrageous to suggest it without telling people of the outcome of their action! Resmed do not recompense you for this data. There are potential issues with a third party having access to what IS your health whilst asleep for 6-8 hours a night! Every night.
    Put your machine ON Airplane mode - or if you are tech savvy, open your machine and d/c the modem. It is easy to do.

    • @LiveWellCPAP
      @LiveWellCPAP  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are more than welcome to turn your modem to airplane mode and to make your information private. However, many insurance providers require the compliance data to prove use and continue paying for the CPAP. Your clinician will also not be able to provide feedback or suggest changes to pressure settings without the data. Without the reports, how will your clinician be able to see if your pressures are at the optimal level and lowering your obstructions per hour? Of course you can choose to do what you wish but you will be limited in what your clinician can do for you. I guess if you are that worried about ResMed caring about how many hours you sleep, you better disable that function.🤔

    • @OzLioness
      @OzLioness 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LiveWellCPAP With your stating "if you are worried about Resmed caring about how many hours you sleep" ... you are not only minimising the potential for this, but not taking into account how, with the terms and conditions that Resmed have, they do NOT ask you for it and that they reserve the right to give your information to insurance companies and **any** other regulatory bodies.
      What happens when (God forbid) someone who is on Cpap has a motor vehicle accident and has OSA and the insurers find this out because your data has been shared with God knows who - Resmed are given a blanket authority without even asking!! Will they disallow your claim because you have OSA and may not have had such a good nights sleep - thus getting the insurer off the hook while you go bankrupt?
      Oh well
