  • A flight along Frodingham Beck from North Frodingham Landing - we travel downstream to Fisholme where the Driffield Canal starts, then upstream to Foston which used to be navigable by barges through what used to be a swing bridge.

That looks like a good day to be out on the water. Was this a Driffield Navigation event with the marquee and all the watercraft? It certainly isn't normally that busy.
    All the best,

Pretty shallow waters, matey! Is the last stretch of canal under restauration?

Ed Frankes Hi Ed, its deeper than a lot of UK canals actually! The bit above the bridge isn't planned for restoration mainly because the beck is private and the main road bridge awkward to replace. Wansford bridge is currently a higher priority as it allows boats to get closer to Driffield. It seems the water authority is doing something to Barmston Drain but I'm not sure what. Cheers, Myk.

mykaskin . There’s a lot of flood alleviation work been done after the 2007 flooding of Hull. A huge amount of land was reclaimed from marsh land many centuries ago. Natural land drainage of East Yorkshire, a massive area ends up flowing in to the River Humber.
