The Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers October 26, 1980 Brian Sipe leads the Cardiac Kids on a 60 yard drive to make another 4th quarter comeback to win the game.
Sipe made it look easy but when the nfl first changed the pass blocking rules at this time, offenses had not quite caught up and Sipe wound up having one of the only few 4,000 yard seasons ever at that time.
If the previous coaches used Mike Pruitt the way Sam did, he'd be in the Hall of Fame. They let him sit for 3 years before using him. For 5 years he was the best fullback in the league (they had them then). Good runner, receiver, blocker.
@@carseye1219 that is one of the reasons Forrest Gregg was fired. When Sam R took over, he expressed how he wanted to get Mike Pruitt more involved in the offense. The Browns did have Cleo Millier who was a decent full back at the time. Remember Greg Pruitt was the featured back at that time. Mike Pruitt came along and did run for 4 straight 1000 yard seasons.
I never realized how much bigger players got from early 80's untill mid. Steroid use must have been rampant since almost every player put on about 20- 30lbs.
It seems like Don Criquie called every Browns big game for their last 15 years at the Old yard.

Only Fouts and Namath surpassed 4000 until 1983
Mike Pruitt was cool!
The Kardiac Kids made me a football fan and a lifelong Browns fan in 1979. I was 9. They were magical.
Everyone knows and remembers Ozzie Newsome - but every time I watch a Browns highlight Dave Logan makes some kind of crazy catch !! He was really good
Ozzie Newsome was amazing!
Sipe is my favorite QB of all time with Montana as my #2
Love Sipe he's an architect in SD now what a stud
Old Cleveland Stadium was a dump, but OH, how we loved that never say die team.
Better than the shitty stadium we have now.
Brian Sipe uno de mis mariscales favoritos aunque le voy a los Jets
Brodie, Criquie, play by play. Rutigliano, motivator. They said they couldn’t but they did. Repeatedly.
Kardiac Kids!! Does anyone remember the foam Kardiac Kids brick you could safely throw at the TV?

MIke Pruitt wasn't ready until he was in the league 3 years. He had a fumble problem his first few years in the league.
@@pierretampa Uh, so you sit a talented player for 3 YEARS while he works on his fumbling issue? That's absurd.

Gregg Pruitt was #34 Mike Pruitt #43. Those were the days. I love watching Gregg run.
