Don't forget bad acting by the lead who happens to be black. She doesn't have any emotion on either character she plays in the whole show. Just a flat stare. Honestly, she hasn’t had a single big win since being put in charge of Star Wars. What makes her think she can get one now? Sure, the sequel trilogy made money, but that was only because the sequel trilogy didn’t exist yet to kill all Star Wars momentum. Those movies all suck. Just stop, KK. Not everyone is capable of running a movie studio. KK is probably the best evidence of that.
It isn't racism, sexism, or any other trigger word -ism.....it was a terrible story that wasn't produced, written, or directed well. It was a bad idea that visually made it worse. It is/was an intentionally divisive product that failed at everything.
It could've gone well as a Star Wars murder mystery set far before the other movies, but didn't because they were given a blank check to do whatever they wanted.
The hatred of female leads and female directors is the narrative they wanted to be true. I'm 48 and I don't know any original SW fans that had that take. I thought Daisy was a good choice for lead. I just think they put her in a terribly written SW trilogy. Then we found out that there was no clear vision for the trilogy, that each director just did their own thing... which is exactly how it felt.
Exactly, if they wrote rey better and didn't shoe horn her as a. Skywalker replacement and just kept her as a unique force user, her movies would have been better received and she'd be no less loved than our characters we all love.
Yeah I think daisley Ridley is hot. Not too bright though. She's towing the line for the money. As if that wasn't enough already. Eff me she should pursue her desires already...
You could literally revrite Rey and Kylo and make rad trilogy with them. Also Fin. Make Rey be a true nobody (since you dont need to always be from famous family from desert planet or something), make Kylo going dark side more logical but also make him redeemable and then have him and rey fall in love (but with a build up, not a cheap kiss and done) and make them have kids in the future (like at the end of the movie to show Skywalker bloodline is allive and that they go away from old Jedi mistakes). Also Fin could be force sensitive (cause stormtrooper jedi is something we all wanted) and have him and Rey learn the force together whille entire cast cooperates together using their strenghts in same way old crew did it. Also they could make at least one scene where Ford, Fisher and Hamill are on screen at the same time (niw impossible, RIP Carrie...). But they choosen ,,modern" way...
Racist, fascist, democracy... all meaningless words being shouted from one particular side of the aisle, completely undermining any meaning the words had so that they can demonize their enemies. Sure, roll your eyes, but I'm right about it. Evil is real and the beginning of tyranny looks an awful lot like current events.

Everyone who isn't a blind fool will buy in to any supporting character, protagonist or antagonist that is well written. What they look like is skin deep beauty, which is immediately overwritten by character. If the character is compelling, then the character is compelling, if the character is not compelling, then the character is not compelling. We don't laugh at Dave Chappelle, Richard Prior, Bernie Mac, Adam Sandler, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy or George Carlin because they're pretty or ugly. We laugh at them because they're funny.
Same goes for every Jackie Chan movie. Most of Will Smith's career, and it sure as hell didn't stop Morgan Freeman from being one of the most beloved actor's all all time. No one cares what color your skin is. Can you act, are you likable, and is the story entertaining? The problem with these "woke culture" films/series is that they are so far removed from how people actually act that you can't relate to them as human.
This actress is becoming unhinged and is in serious danger of threatening her career. I really hope someone older can sit her down and offer some solid advice. Usually this kind of stuff is evidence of a mental health issue, or something in her background is causing her to react towards people this way. If she doesn’t adjust her attitude soon, she’s going to become rotten fruit for the industry that employs her. No one wants to work with a head case like this that offers constant headlines because of stuff she says. She’s seriously going to hurt her career if she doesn’t get it together soon. Toxic people like this will then lash out at the industry when she’s considered not hire-able. Claiming they are racist or sexist for her not getting the jobs she wants from Hollywood. But these people are doing it to themselves. Please Amandla, consider going to a counselor to get some help.
I feel like the problem for people like her is that no one ever gave them perspective. Everyone kept telling them that they're so talented and amazing, and if anyone doesn't like their work it's because they're jealous.
Pretty sure it's already over for her, Acolyte was among the most expensive flops to ever hit Streaming/TV and a major contributing factor was how horrible of an actress she was, unskilled, unqualified and unable to do her job, it's blatantly clear she just hits check boxes and that's how she got this role. And the one thing Hollywood needs more than forced diversity is money and by got she lost them a boat load, it's unlikely she will ever have a major role again.
The Acolyte is dead?! Oh dear... Let me pay my respects... *Pisses on its grave.* Hey Disney! Maybe if you actually told a good story people wouldn't hate it so much...
Hollywood, Netflix, Apple, Disney, have been telling us, implicitly and explicitly, for over a decade now: If you don't like this thing we're selling, it's because you're a bad person. And no one in the writers' rooms or the studios said: Wait, what?
@@XAVR_ you're looking at this from a single dimension. Do y’all ‘member when everyone tried to get the original Star Wars cancelled because Lando was so hated? So they admit Star Wars is a male dominated world, yet refuse to admit creating a SW series based on "strong female characters" was a mistake. Got it !!
I'm fine with them making a SW show for women, but this wasn't that. Most women can't relate to les space witches with no morals, character development, or romance arc.
@@brain_tonic Yeah, it seemed the sentiment I have seen online was, "Who is this even for?" The problem wasn't a strong female lead but the fact that it was actively trying to put down its male audience, while also just being a bad show.
We gotta give credit where credit is due. This show is probably the first show to make lesbian space wizards unattractive to the teen-twenty yr old age range.

guess racism also led Amandla to top the charts with her inspirational diss track 😂 guess it also slipped her mind Samuel L Jackson and Billy Dee Williams (who last I checked were black actors) were part of the original Star Wars…or maybe she never knew since their goal was to hire people who knew nothing about Star Wars
This is how their games goes. 1) What about Windu, Calrissian or others. 2) They respond with is that all. There needs to be more. 3) You give them more. 4) They get all happy. 5) You say what about the representation of the original group who are now being marginalised. 6) They laugh & tell you to get used to it as it's a new world & they are the ones calling the shots. 7) The DEI crap crashes & burns. 8) They lose their power. Go straight back into victim mode & scream about being oppressed & waaaycissm. It's a power play. These types of people are not able to earn or build anything on their own, so they corrupt & try to guilt you into handing over the reign of power. Once they get it, they do the exact same thing of that which they profess to be advocating against. If this show was all black, this privileged little boot would be screaming with joy from the rooftops about how great it all is. There would be zero calls from her to make the cast more 'diverse' at the exclusion of any other black performers to bring in Asian, Hispanic & certainly not Caucasian. It's a huge grift to be handed power & influence. If you need to explain yourself, then you will always be on the back foot to justify this or that. Instead, you laugh at them, then laugh some more, then turn your back & walk away.
And here begins the -ist and -phobes conga! Because it’s never the bad writing, it’s never the piss poor actors, it’s never what everyone says. It’s about the agenda and the hopes next time works.
It wasn't sexism or racism. As a fan of Star Wars since I was a kid I can genuinely say from the bottom of my heart this show was VERY POORLY produced. The writing was atrocious
It must be nice, as a human. To have a crutch that you can constantly use to fall back on and never have to accept blame or fault for anything that you ever do in life. God that must be nice.
This is a load of crap. The problem with Star Wars series nowadays is that Disney is promoting a political agenda with their productions at the expense of good writing. There are plenty of examples of lead actors in a series who are either women or of a different race. We just don't like poor writing, bad plot, and lackluster character development. Kathleen Kennedy always likes to say that it's more difficult for female &/or persons of color to be the lead actor. However, this is just an excuse to put the blame elsewhere because saying "racism" is just easier than having some self-reflection and realizing the problem is that Disney is just producing bad series. And yet, when Kathleen Kennedy had a strong woman character player by Gina Corano, she was fired simply because ultimately Gina didn't fit Kathleen's own narrative of what a strong female character is. 🤷🏻♂️

For examples we have Cruella, Malefica, in the upcoming Mufasa they trying to make Scar the victim and Mufasa the usurper who stole the throne.
In Star Wars they been systematicaly removing the while male heroes, and they trying to make the Jedi look like some kind of heinous kidnappers and just overal bad... They are so bent into that they even go against the lore/canon... in the precuels, is well stablished Jedi doesn't take kids after a certain age to be trained, Anakin was younger then the girls in the Acolyte and they didn't want to train him, of course also beause of the fact Yoda felt fear in him. Here in the Acolyte the girls are way too old to be trained according to the Jedi's own rules and they still tried to take them, then they have to make the guy be incompetent by not trying to just levitate the girls and instead he tries to hold the whole bridge wth them which obviously was too much for him...
Is just an absolute disgrace the level of "writting" in this show... from the fire in space, to the burn of a freaking stone cave, to the dialog, to how op the sith guy is, the fact they included Mundi just to have some "known" Jedi master, and how they even totaly distroyed Plagueis... that was the worst insult... and we only have the consolation that they wont expand on that...

I just came from a Snow White drama explanation video, and honestly, can Disney do *anything* right anymore…?
Hmm yes, surely it’s racism and not because of their utter incompetence.
Of course, anything else would mean they would have to take accountability.
She is the racist.
Blaming racism for your failure is such a worn out card to play.
Lol its racism when it was purely because it was poorly written and structured and didn't deliver on the promise on Sith centric show.
When all else fails call the fans racist
-Remember… $180Million Budget. But Nothing Happened In The Show.
I totally agree, Rey Cism Palpatine is to blame for the cancellation of The Acolyte.
The Force has corrected itself...
The force just menstruated all that bad blood 😂😂😂😂
@@hardkore360 😭🤣😭
Not yet. It just only drained the taint. The purification process still has a long wah to go
And here begins the -ist and -phobes conga!
You can use it, too. You would just have to be a completely pathetic loser to do so.
It was cancelled because its shit.....even by disney FARCE wars standards
It just looks like people dressed up for comic con.
Ahahahahaha
