Brilliant! Very exciting that you're bringing optical flow to INAV. When do you anticipate its release? Is it just me or does the the Matek board look a lot like the HereFlow optical flow board

Is it possible in INAV to combine both GPS and Opflow sensors to make the drone do successful position hold in either indoor or outdoor spaces? Like something similar to extended kalman filter for ardupilot.

I have this board, it has arrow forward to show mounting direction, does it also required to be in the center or can it be mounted under the gps? I connected it today and set it up in Inav 7 and it all icons are blue and it seems to be working. I will finish assembly once I'm sure where exactly to mount.

Hi, why do you need to have a Baro to get surface mode to work? isn't the lidar enough?

  • @rholt2

Sheesh! I see that the OpFlow board is on the Matek site, but not quite out there for purchase. i'm eager to find out what this thing can do!

Fantastic work Pawel. Opflow is something I'm looking forward to.
Does the op flow work over any surface? or just a grid matrix? (in its current form)
Also, I understand why you have mounted the IMU as far as you could from the axis of rotation, in order to get the greatest angular acceleration.
But why didn't you mount it under the gps puck? Does it not shield the already weak gps signals even more with it mounted on top?

It should be a pattern of some kind, but does not have to be a square or uniform patterns at all

Painless360 has a video my help. The video is titled *"How to add a Rangefinder and OPFLOW sensor to your INAV Quad (Matek 3901-LOX)."*
I'd like to make a drone which will position hold indoors as well as the DJI Avata.

Does lidar work in fixed wing INAV builds? Is it possible to use it to improve landing flare, obstacle avoidance during landing, etc...?

One more great project by Pawel 👍
Maybe something for a QA video:
Do you think the open source drones, will ever get close to a system like DJI's phantom 4, with all the functions or at least a few of them (follow me, tracking, ...)
Or is it way to complicated to get done by the few hardcore freelancer involved?

Port settings & CLI commands please
    iNav 2.6
    Matek F722 STD FC
Matek Optical Flow & LIDAR Sensor 3901-L0X
    Using UART 5 Rx &Tx
    Power Red LED is Solid
    Data Blue LED is Flashing
No active blue or inactive red icons on top status bar.
May I ask for a screenshot of your ports page - do I set MPS on Port 5 ?
Or do I set Sensor on Port 5 to Optical Flow or Lidar?
May I also ask for your CLI settings for this device? Is the hardware enabled from the CLI.
Directions & Settings seem to be dispersed and from multiple sources.
This is my 4th quadcopter , first with iNav.
    Thank you,

      Solved. Matek F722 STD.
UART 5 is reserved for some VTx functionality.
Changed to UART 1...works now. Thank you
