I had a theory that Vaggie killed herself. Her character- from what we've seen- doesn't seem bad or evil at heart. She's protective and dedicated, she cares. But she hates men with a passion. What if in her past life, she was abused by men and submissive. One day she couldn't stand the pain anymore and committed the only sin she ever would- a sin against herself. She took her own life. I'm not sure where moths would tie into her character, though. But in all honesty, it makes sense to me. She wakes up in hell and realizes she's dead. And from there, she refuses to take anymore abuse from anyone. Charlie is the most redeeming character in Hell and seems to understand Vaggie. Of course Vaggie would be dedicated to her. The only person to show her kindness, love, warmth. Again, this is just a theory. Pure speculation. :)
Vivzie could have used moths because people look at them as if they're ugly or not worth as much as a butterfly, and Vaggie could have felt she was worthless during her life, which would make sense if she was abused or assaulted like your theory states... Idk, I'm probably wrong
Angel Dust died to become a demon, maybe all the characters in hazbin hotel died, there are eyes on the trees with all the nooses, maybe she hung herself from one of those trees and that's why the eyes follow her. but that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
here's a trick for getting rid of disembodied eyes that won't stop following you. just go up to one and lick it, it'll either run away cause that's gross or it'll stick around cause it's into freaky shit like that. it works roughly 85% of the time.

Originally Charlie wasn't even born in hell, I mean we can't use the speedpaints as evidence for theories cause characters change a lot and I bet that she's more set in stone currently but if the info about the car crash is before this image maybe suicide is possible I mean very possible, but these characters have been hella fluid over time so be ready for something that hasnt been hinted at for her death. Besides we aren't sure how bad you have to be yet to go to hell, what if it's based on how the people around you felt about you, maybe she made the people she cared about feel bad, maybe she had toxic habits and she died pretty young so if teenage her was questionable that's it for her pretty much, she didn't get to grow out of it and get better. So far all we mainly see are people who totally deserve to be in hell but half way decent sinners might just die off early as hell, like i think its way easier to get into hell then heaven but if you have to he super bad to go to hell then most people aren't that shitty spoiler alert, heaven would be over crowded I bet you can go to hell for petty ass reasons like not being popular.

OK I've watched a few Vaggie speed paints and I have definitely think the eyes are just her imagination A lot of people theorize that she hung herself, so I'm thinking she was in college or something got bullied and judged by so many mean people that she just couldn't take anymore Which is really sad to think about 😭
My first thought was that since she was an angel, she knows all the random eyes everywhere around hell are used by angels to spy on hell and keep tabs on everything, so she's uncomfortable with the thought of heaven still watching her 😮

Oh dear. The Random Eyeballs of Nefariousness seem to be giving Vaggie a hard time. That, and she really didn't choose the best part of Halloween Town to have her mocha. But whatever the case, a lovely piece of art as usual. Again, I'm really not a fan of MelMar, but eh. I come for the art, and this one, just as all the others have, made me glad I stayed.
