  • Combo video out now: • Mayakashi Ultimate Com...
    So... last weekend I attended an Official Tournament Store (OTS) Championship in Italy, and I played non other than Mayakashi.
    In this video I will discuss in details this new take on the archetype, starting from reading the cards and understanding the strategy, to defining a win condition and choosing the best non-engine slots to achieve it.

    Nice decklist and congratz on the win! One thing to note though is that yuki onna link 4's first effect 3:17 doesnt negate the shufflers or unchained yama. It only negates effects that activate in the banished zone like thunder dragons or shiranui. Cards that activate in grave and move to banish are not negated. Otherwise cool idea for the extenders.

    Jack-o-bollan seems perfect for this deck!
    Did you find any other of the mayakashi monsters usefull?

      Unfortunately Jack-O-Boolan it's only good in theory, cause even if you open with Dakki+Yuki, you send Bloom and add Jack, you still don't have another zombie to discard. And if we need a 3 card combo just to enable its summon, it's clear that is not a good or reliable card for this specific variant of the deck

    Great video! I find the adventurer engine is pretty good but sometimes a little clunky and takes up a lot of slots. I love your idea of using the Kashtira Engine. I've been using it with x3 Fenrir x3 Unicorn x1 Birth and x1 Pressured Planet. I've been going with x3 Crossout Designator and x1 Called By the Grave for protection instead of the Adventurer Engine, and then just more hand traps, it feels a lot better for me. Have you tried more hand traps / Crossout > Adventurer Engine? If so, what do you think?

    • @bluemoy

      When I originally Made the deck everyone was playing an insane amount of handtraps, and deck like Unchained Purrely and Rescue were playing Shifter after side to counter Tear.
      Also, the Mayakashi engine can’t really push going 2nd into boards, and doesn’t have a reliable way to play around stuff. If you just focus on the Mayakashi loop you’ll be destroyed by Nib, but, at the same time, If you can keep an extra deck monster and have access to the trap, you’ll win on the spot (assuming that you can otk on the following). For these and many Other reasons I felt we need to have another engine!

    Mayakashi is my favorite deck ever since its release so I always tinker with it.
    You should try Mayakashi Winter x1, a really good mayakashi card that often gets overlooked, it's a mayakashi card so you can summon yuki-musume, you could also use it to get synchros/mayakashi monster that lock extra deck to the grave to draw one card. And most importantly, it has a revive effect in grave, which could come in handy a lot of times. (Mayakashi return now also have the option to become a monster reborn for mayakashi monsters)

    What are some solutions if I am unable to get dakki into my starting hand?

    • @bluemoy

      If you don't have Dakki it means that your hand didn't included any Dakki, Hajun, Mayakashi Return, Prosperity, One for One (or they got interrupted): those are 12 cards, wich means that you are going to have 4/5 cards from a 28 card deck that includes Fenrirs, Brave Cards, Handtraps and so on!

      @@016_ Of course your plan won't be optimal if you don't have access to the engine, and having that many limited cards will affect significantly the viability of the strategy. You should probably lean towards a zombie build, at that point

    Great profile, thank u so much for sharing the list! I've been testing this list for quite some time now and always run into the same problem... It's almost impossible to end on the trap card. Most of the times I have to rely on thrust and ur opponent handtraping u, that u can set trap. Am I doing something wrong? I don't find myself In many situations where I can get trap access, and still do the full mayakashi combo.
    Also the thing I'm still trying to figure out: many times u have to use the gryphon for the lvl 9 synchro to go into ur mayakashi line, but isn't that counterproductive because u are not protected from anything?
    Love the content :p

    • @bluemoy

      Hi, as I explained in the video, we are purposely reducing the trap access, at least in game 1.
      If you open with Dakki+Fenrir, Dakki+Rite, Dakki+Yuki etc., and you have a Mayakashi Return, you will use it to search the trap. If you already have a combo hand and you have Prosperity, you'll thin your deck and then try to use Prosp to get access to the Trap/Return.
      Also, this list was made for a tournament that took place just one or two weeks after Ycs Richmond, where everyone was playing at least 12 handtraps into the main. So it was way likely that your Thrust could be live most of the times. I was siding the other two copies for going 1st, as my only go1st card alongside Called By.
      If you only have Dakki + Rite, and none of the other cards can contribute to your combo (ex: 3 non engines), you will never search Gryphon with Fateful. You just grab an Enchantress and use it with Dakki to go into the Synchro 5 and start the loop

    Great profile. Really impressed that someone's actually posted a functional list for this deck. I've kept this one rather quiet because I never tried it in a full competitive enviornment, but Fenrir Dakki is a really good line generically regardless of Brave. I would suggest not using Unicorn/Birth. If you want extenders, Jester Confit is kinda... just as decent? But really I'd fill out with hand traps. You're not really lacking for consistency due to Prosperity (I run small world instead generally).
    I still would consider a Mezuki. You will find Yuki enough that its worth having one good mill target. Lastly, over Link Spider and TYPHON/SP, consider Vampire Fascinator and Dhampir Vampire. Occasionally you get to board states where you just want to clear the synchros off the board again, and Fascinator does that while also getting a mind control + Pop. You can sub out for Vampire King (the XYZ 8) but its probably worse for this deck as a fascinator overlay.

    • @bluemoy

      Link Spider/S:P/Typhon are just too good to not play them. Also, I wanted to have a play if my hand was Rite+Dakki and Fateful got negated. I didn't want to focus on Zombies for a couple reasons, mainly cause are terrible going 2nd and also useless under Shifter, and the event took place just one or two weeks after Ycs Richmond, where everyone was playing Shifter in Purrely, Rescue and Unchained. Of course Unicorn is not the perfect extender, but at least is a card that replaces itself and has the ability to kill S:P and then allow to play in MP2.
      Let me know if you keep experimenting with the deck!

      With this build, ideally you normal summon Dakki; its effect triggers in the graveyard, so you can pair it with the Brave package! Also, the Brave stuff provides either a lv3 to start the loop or Gryphon to protect your plays

    • @Acelyn-

    • @bluemoy

      @@Acelyn- That's the least relevent part. The thing is that if you revolve around Hajun, which potentially is a 1 card combo, if it gets interrupted you don't have any extender to play further. So i tried to build around Dakki, and then the question became: wich one is the best package that can provide an extender that fit with the levels required, while also having other benefits? I found Brave pretty useful, cause it can always guaranteed the level required, and if you open with a 3 card combo also guarantees protection from handtraps / an omni negate on board
