Just because Riley was hurting Maya turned away Lucas and it just seems like another moment of sadness she goes through with the joy and good part of her life being moments with Riley and her friends. Lucas and maya’s relationship is immaculate. They can fight, but both know they still care, the way Lucas looks at her, the way he shows his care at school, the way the tease eachother. It's not about losing or having everything. That's not the point of Girl Meets World. From a writer's pov, it's about Maya and Riley found something as they grow up. Lessons learn, love of family, friends and opportunities. In ways... Riley's story is nothing like Boy Meets World. If you notice, it's more towards Jane Austen's Emma/Clueless. And Maya is about holding on to hope (Jane Austen's Persuasion). It's pretty obvious that Riley is going to end up with Farkle. But the main story as well, will Maya fall in love with Lucas again, whom she once fell for real once. Is her real feelings the same for Josh?

100% agree with everyone else... I hate how Maya just got talked out of liking Lucas. I'm heartbroken that GMW is cancelled, but the one good thing that came out of it is that I don't have to watch Maya be on the sidelines to Riley and Lucas, because it hurt too much to not see Maya get what she deserves. The fact that he listened to her when she said if you really cared about me go find Riley means that there is so much more there with him and her then there is with Riley and Him. Even in the real world they were so close. PEYTON/Lucas even said it himself, he said “me and Sabrina had automatically clicked and grew a bond together”.
When the writers wanted Rucas as endgame they shouldn't have played with Maya's and our feeling. THEY ARE ENDGAME no matter what happens.

I just can't believe that he picked Riley, I mean, no hate but Riley and Lucas are so forced to be together, doesn't seem any natural, it's kinda cringy the way they interact, but with Maya it was a total different story, they really liked each other, in the campfire scene he was the one who started the almost- kiss, while with Riley, she was the one who kissed him.
I strongly believe that the writers couldn't change the thing and make it Lucaya bc the serie it's about Riley, but we all know that the best option or the better one was Maya.

Lucas and maya’s relationship is immaculate. They can fight, but both know they still care, the way Lucas looks at her, the way he shows his care at school, the way the tease eachother. Riley and farkle are meant to be. The way he takes her aside to talk, the way he cared enough to tell everyone that Riley still liked Lucas, the way they can relate to eachother, the way the talk to eachother, the way they look at eachother. It's not about losing or having everything. That's not the point of Girl Meets World. From a writer's pov, it's about Maya and Riley found something as they grow up. Lessons learn, love of family, friends and opportunities. In ways... Riley's story is nothing like Boy Meets World. If you notice, it's more towards Jane Austen's Emma/Clueless. And Maya is about holding on to hope (Jane Austen's Persuasion). It's pretty obvious that Riley is going to end up with Farkle. But the main story as well, will Maya fall in love with Lucas again, whom she once fell for real once. Is her real feelings the same for Josh?
When lucas said "i cant see u" and maya replied with "yeah all this stuffs in the way" she reminded me of Violet from series of unfortunate events
