Use isky adjustable pushrod guide plates to center rockers on valve stems. Mock up heads on block, adjust plates, pull heads, spot weld plates, number them to prevent mix up on teardown !

Exhaust opening/ intake closing is my go to way to adjust the valves. Never failed me. Great video

Very nice build, curious when you expect to dyno it? Appreciate you guys tossed the LS and built a SBC, big fan of pump gas engines. Look forward to seeing how my 10.7 to 1 N/A 399ci. pump gas compares to your pump gas engine.

Why not use adjustable guide plates so you don't have the Pigen toe affect and clearance the head so the push rods done hit and have the proper clearance

I thought the Dart SHP blocks had a .300" taller lifter boss on the topside (to accept the stock late model roller lifters) and required .300" taller lifters? Also they say the lifters cannot be installed or removed with the heads on the block. Was this not an issue or did you mill the lifter boss's down?

Oh dear: somebody mongo'd out and overtorqued all those air bleeds. Sizing the tip of a flathead correctly not only gets better results, but the piece being worked on doesn't get chowdered.

I just want to ask if you use a GM block or Dart Block and what brand heads are you running

Dart heads and dart block. Both are described in more detail in the previous 2 videos on this engine build.

How about doing a small block build where the engine will perform but still be able to run on pump gas and pass a smog inspection with Throttle Body Injection. Yup...California. I need to upgrade my 3/4 ton 1991 Suburban that has the anemic 350 which is a little slow when towing my 24' travel trailer. Nothing too fancy, but a clean heavy duty build that will last for a while. I am/was considering a 383 or 400
