Bourns...regarding audio pots for guitar: you know why you sell so little pots compared to CTS ? Its because on your technical sheets you have noted "18 knurls" (or spline) - while you must say 24 knurls as CTS counts the missing teeth also.
Bourns sells both 18, and 24 spline pots. Check their website. I’ve used both; CTS, and Bourns. They are both great. I must say, I like Bourns’ better, for both; their switching, and sweep. CTS are more popular because of their heritage. Their quality of manufacture has declined, over the decades. Open one of each, and you’ll see what I mean.
For this particular guitar, that is correct. This may not be the same on other guitars. Please refer to the application Note for recommended wiring. www.bourns.com/docs/ProAudioDocs/bourns_model_pdb183_gtr_pot_switch_appnote.pdf
Hello - Thanks for reaching out. There is a whole science around what type of capacitor and technology and how you attach it. Here is a resource from our partner Seymour Duncan that will help explain. www.seymourduncan.com/blog/latest-updates/what-tone-capacitors-do-i-need-for-my-guitar

@@bournsvideos this is a super helpful diagram! Do you know how I would set up a different combination? I'm trying to use push/pull pots (2) for master volume and only 1 master tone. I'm a bit stumped on the set up. Thanks!
thanks for the vedio and the link to the circuit
Thank you for creating and presenting a ''No-Bull'' video.

i think you need to change the wiring from tunnel 1 to 3, your turning the volume in the opposite direction
Or he could be using a left handed pot instead of a right handed one
Being right-handed I would have never even put any thought into thinking that left-handed pots or even a thing. That's pretty cool
So the grey sleeve humbucker is the neck pickup an the black sleeve one is the bridge humbucker...

Pls can you use any small size capacitor from a circuit as the tone capacitor?

your kidding right, people just surf by and never knew nothin ok.
How is it routed if the split is on the volume DPDT pot?

Those bourns push pulls work great until it pulls all the way out.
Hi Ryan - We'd be pleased to replace the defective product, please contact us for further action. bourns@bourns.com
Hey Ryan I have the exact same problem. What pot did you end up replacing it with?
@@AveryGuitar fender makes a push pull dime pot. CTS makes a full size push pull pot. I have had good luck with both.
@@smokepeddler thanks
I use a push pull from Dimarzio. I don’t know brand it actually is. Could be Alpha but so far it works great
