I tried to do the whole thing in one take but at the same time I had many times until what I had in the end felt right. Side note. If you go back downstairs you can get on that ramp.easily without having to jump on that pipe. When you get to ones that take you to 97 just fast travel to the yard and you'll be at the door you can just walk in.
This was so helpful. I was worried when I decided to 100% fallout 3 in 2023 that there’s be so few guides for achievements or that they’d be from like 2008 or 2009 and just barely useable. This was sooooo helpful!!!

This is a very good walk through. Couple of things I've learned. 1)There is sometimes a missing roof glitch on top of the blast furnace if you are playing on Xbox. There are a few different ways to possibly resolve this, but what worked for me was to uninstall the Point Lookout DLC. 2)If you do not want to, you don't have to take the fall damage suggested in this walkthrough to get the ingots by the silos. Once you get to the point in the walk through where it shows you to jump off go a little bit further you can shimmy around that fence to the curved pipe on the other side, and then use the pipe and the wall to bounce off of as you drop to the roof below and you can do it with no damage.
Thanks for your detailed comment. Thanks for the workaround for jumping off as I am sure that will help folks put. And yes, some folks are able to simply restart their consoles and the issue is fixed.
Thanks I was wondering why I kept falling through the roof I was really confused but glad to have found this comment uninstalling point lookout resolved it and I reinstalled it after getting back in the abandoned area.
Thanks to you, I was finally able to get all the ingots and was no longer trapped in Fallout. This is by far the most thorough guide I've come across 👍. Since I like to sneak, it never crossed my mind there were ingots outside the fence at 9:40 and 13:23 accessed through jumping. Also I learned the hard way that fall damage is also scaled with difficulty, as I died the first time when trying to land the jump at 13:04.

Can I just say I think that's one of those dirty tricks developers used to hide the last few ingots like that. I just spent well over an hour scouring the steelyard yard several times Looking for them. I never would've known they were in a side area without this video.

This is my favorite thing to do in Fallout now, it’s meditative. I used to hate it because getting all the ingots was so confusing, now I love doing parkour stuff like jumping over the fences and along the pipelines. It’s downright relaxing
I do know what you mean. It sort of feels like a trail run/speed run but at the same time takes precision. It toke me a fair few tries to get this right.

I'm revisiting the Fallout franchise after watching the recently released Amazon show! I am attempting to collecting all the Xbox achievements in all the mainline games that are available. I have 100% completed Fallout 4, now I'm wrapping up the achievements connected to the DLC from Fallout 3. Thank you for creating this video walkthrough! It was an absolute breeze collecting all the Steel Ingots this way.
Amazing video! And for those who don't know, the mid level rooftop has a glitch were the roof doesn't load in, to test, shoot your weapon at the roof, if it puffs up with dust it loaded in, if it didn't then it didn't load in, to fix save and then exit to main menu and load back in! Simple and Easy!! Thank you for the amazing guide!!!!
@TrappedInFallout So I managed to get it to work. I uninstalled point lookout, deleted all unnecessary save files and then restarted the game whilst clearing the cache... (covered all bases 😂)

great and easy to follow video, if anyone gets stuck on the very top with the glitched roof, just save your game, exit out, and relaunch the game and you should be good

It's a mic of a few, somewhat unique. I'm British born and bred but my parents are from the far East. So overtime I sort of developed my own accent. It's a good guess, nope it's not Indian however I can speak Hindi.
This was great. I tried watching another video that did the same route but the guy kept jump cutting and speeding things up so it took me longer than this video and i didnt even get them all cause i gave up on that video. It was frustrating. Well done and thanks!

Wow, you did a great job on this video for this tedious task. I remember doing this when the Pitt first released and was not looking forward to tracking these down a decade later. Of course Xfinity having service interruption while I was trying to follow your video and when I went to turn in the last of em I was short by 4 and I don't know which ones, the video stopped and I had to reload multiple times. Yea. Time to go over again lol.
After rewatching, I have a feeling I didn't grab the 4 on the floor in the locked room In the supply plant, cuz I didn't see any others I wasn't sure about. I think when I went in I grabbed the 2 on the shelf, then opened and read the terminal notes, then left, about to go start up and see. If it's not those, I'm gonna have to watch a third time and follow every move.

Hey Chungs, that's some solid and great advice. I wanted to record the whole thing in one shot and the jumps can really screw it up. At 12:44 there is a bug on xbox where the roof is invisible and you fall to your death. A way to fix it maybe by saving and quitting to the main menu then reload the save.

I had this bug. Apparently it's when you have point lookout installed!! I uninstalled it and bingo the roof was solid again... So strange that having a totally separate DLC can affect another so randomly 😅
I may have heard if you “Save your game while you’re at the roof, then exit the game COMPLETELY. Once you get back on and start the game, mediately hold LB RB and X all together while the game loads, and it will fix the glitch.” It really worked, trust me.

@@eyeofsauron1553 Good question. To my knowledge it should not as none of the DLCs are really connected to each other. You can virtually do them in any order and they don't effect each other. They really should be independent of each other I think.
Yeah totally. The first time I did this, I did manage to get 98 and was lost for hours trying to find the other two - I did not find them for months. In fact I never found the other two until I read somewhere that there were two right next to the entrance, on the other side (this was years ago). Even when I made this video, I had to run the trails a few times to get my routine down before I recorded the video.

What? Why lol, why tf would point lookout have anything to do with the freakin ground being glitched in 1 specific area in the Pitt. Freaking Bethesda. Lol. Yeah, sadly it's still an issue after all these years. Still, it's a nice surprise to anyone who doesn't know about it and suddenly falls through losing all their progress.
71-74 was a pain some reason my character would always fall through the roof and die on impact only had to close the game 7 times to finally reach them
Sadly this is an uncommon bug that does happen and the collision detection on the roof stops working. The great thing is that it's working now so I'm happy that you managed to get it all working.

Re-did it and the same thing happened at the same spot(@12:48). Saved beforehand this time. There's a portion of the roof that no clips everything for as far as I can throw an object
Sadly this is a common issue and usually a game reset helps (had for many others if you look through the comments). By reset I mean quiting the game (if on console then turning that off also) and then booting the game up and trying again.
@@TrappedInFallout Appreciate the reply. Closing the app didn't fix it originally. Had to hold down Y while reloading into the game while on xbox series x to force the cache to clear. Leaving and reloading into the area caused it to reoccur. Repeating the process would bandaid it.

That's so unfortunate, sorry that it happens to you. I think when you load the game up from the dashboard of your platform, you can force the reload the cache of the game and when doing this it should solve the 'fall through the roof' glitch. In theory it should fix the issue. And also thank you for checking out my video, I appreciate it.

I'm revisiting the Fallout franchise after watching the recently released Amazon show! I am attempting to collecting all the Xbox achievements in all the mainline games that are available. I have 100% completed Fallout 4, now I'm wrapping up the achievements connected to the DLC from Fallout 3. Thank you for creating this video walkthrough! It was an absolute breeze collecting all the Steel Ingots this way.

And for those who don't know, the mid level rooftop has a glitch were the roof doesn't load in, to test, shoot your weapon at the roof, if it puffs up with dust it loaded in, if it didn't then it didn't load in, to fix save and then exit to main menu and load back in! Simple and Easy!!

@basketball4me1 As silly as it may sound, have you tried turning off your game console and turning it back on and trying again?
@TrappedInFallout So I managed to get it to work. I uninstalled point lookout, deleted all unnecessary save files and then restarted the game whilst clearing the cache... (covered all bases 😂)
@basketball4me1 50% of the time the nuclear option almost always works 90% of the time.

It's a mic of a few, somewhat unique. I'm British born and bred but my parents are from the far East. So overtime I sort of developed my own accent. It's a good guess, nope it's not Indian however I can speak Hindi.

Wow, you did a great job on this video for this tedious task. I remember doing this when the Pitt first released and was not looking forward to tracking these down a decade later. Of course Xfinity having service interruption while I was trying to follow your video and when I went to turn in the last of em I was short by 4 and I don't know which ones, the video stopped and I had to reload multiple times. Yea. Time to go over again lol.
After rewatching, I have a feeling I didn't grab the 4 on the floor in the locked room In the supply plant, cuz I didn't see any others I wasn't sure about. I think when I went in I grabbed the 2 on the shelf, then opened and read the terminal notes, then left, about to go start up and see. If it's not those, I'm gonna have to watch a third time and follow every move.
Thanks for your comment and feedback. Yeah, they can be very easy to miss. I do keep a count of them as I get them. It that won't help much of you already have a few. I do start from scratch too and it's helped me to collect them to when I visit the area in a new game lol.

Great guide, I recommend slowing playback to like .40 so you can deal with enemies and such as you go. Also save before every jump!
Hey Chungs, that's some solid and great advice. I wanted to record the whole thing in one shot and the jumps can really screw it up. I did take care of all the enemies first to make the video a little more slick and I hope that the video is useful and easy to follow. Slowing it down will certainly be helpful also. @@TrappedInFallout i did, unfortunately I attacked him, as I chose the ending to free the prisoners so he didn’t survive but I still got all the rewards
@@GTZ7 As long as you got all the rewards then that's cool. Everett isn't the nicest of NPCs and I would side with the prisoners also.
At 12:44 there is a bug on xbox where the roof is invisible and you fall to your death. A way to fix it maybe by saving and quitting to the main menu then reload the save.

I had this bug. Apparently it's when you have point lookout installed!! I uninstalled it and bingo the roof was solid again... So strange that having a totally separate DLC can affect another so randomly 😅
I may have heard if you “Save your game while you’re at the roof, then exit the game COMPLETELY. Once you get back on and start the game, mediately hold LB RB and X all together while the game loads, and it will fix the glitch.” It really worked, trust me.

@@eyeofsauron1553 Good question. To my knowledge it should not as none of the DLCs are really connected to each other. You can virtually do them in any order and they don't effect each other. They really should be independent of each other I think.

Not just you, sadly this can happen. If you reload your game or reset it then that should fix it.

I miscounted that big pile in the supply plant. The upside down ingot blends in too well with the detritus.
Yeah totally. The first time I did this, I did manage to get 98 and was lost for hours trying to find the other two - I did not find them for months. In fact I never found the other two until I read somewhere that there were two right next to the entrance, on the other side (this was years ago). Even when I made this video, I had to run the trails a few times to get my routine down before I recorded the video.

What? Why lol, why tf would point lookout have anything to do with the freakin ground being glitched in 1 specific area in the Pitt. Freaking Bethesda. Lol. I was pulling my hair out knowing I went over there back in the day when I originally played it. Luckily I haven't started point lookout yet was saving for after Anchorage, pitt and zeta.

My favorite part is when the roof vanishes, and I have to reload my auto save.
Yeah, sadly it's still an issue after all these years. Still, it's a nice surprise to anyone who doesn't know about it and suddenly falls through losing all their progress.

71-74 was a pain some reason my character would always fall through the roof and die on impact only had to close the game 7 times to finally reach them
Sadly this is an uncommon bug that does happen and the collision detection on the roof stops working. The great thing is that it's working now so I'm happy that you managed to get it all working.

I collected 80~ of them then glitched through the roof and died without a recent save 😂 Appreciate the video x2
Re-did it and the same thing happened at the same spot(@12:48). Saved beforehand this time. There's a portion of the roof that no clips everything for as far as I can throw an object
Sadly this is a common issue and usually a game reset helps (had for many others if you look through the comments). By reset I mean quiting the game (if on console then turning that off also) and then booting the game up and trying again.
@@TrappedInFallout Appreciate the reply. Closing the app didn't fix it originally. Had to hold down Y while reloading into the game while on xbox series x to force the cache to clear. Leaving and reloading into the area caused it to reoccur. Repeating the process would bandaid it.
@Yahurr ah OK, hopefully it's working now. It's a strange one, just randomly stopped working and collision on the game object just dies.

That's so unfortunate, sorry that it happens to you. I think when you load the game up from the dashboard of your platform, you can force the reload the cache of the game and when doing this it should solve the 'fall through the roof' glitch. In theory it should fix the issue. And also thank you for checking out my video, I appreciate it.
