Our family finally came to visit us in Nairobi, Kenya! Tracey's parents, her sister, bother in laws, our niece and two nephews are here for the next few weeks and we have a LOT planned for them. We are so excited to be able to share our life here in Kenya with them all!

Tracey's parents always wanted to visit a Kenyan coffee farm so we went for a tour at the Fairview Coffee Estate in Kiambu. This visit was fun for the adult but a bit boring for the kids so we made sure that the rest of the day was a highlight for them.
From there we of course HAD to visit the world famous Nairobi Giraffe Centre. For people who have never seen giraffe before, being able to get up close and feed those giants is always an amazing experience!
Finally, to end our perfect day in Nairobi, we brought the whole family to Kenya's most famous restaurant, Carnivore Nairobi! This is a super fun place to bring a larger group of people and they truly enjoyed the ambiance and being able to try different meats like crocodile and ostrich!

I think they all had a very positive first impression of Nairobi and it was really fun to witness them in this new environment.
Overall an amazing first weekend in Nairobi and we are so excited to take them on their first safari next. STAY POSTED!!!

Another place your prents will like is I thnks its called Kiathumbi tea farm run by a British Kenyan lady for decades in Limuru. You see the process of how tea is made, go on a tour of the tea farm and enjoy a cup of tea with biscuits at her home. Next the Brown cheese factory farm run by an American family they make local cheese where they source the milk from local farmers. They take you on a tour on how the cheese is made and you get to eat cheese an other delicacies at the farm/factory

Dave and Tracey, did you take them to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage? It's close to the Giraffe centre and they let you touch the elephant calves that come near you which is impossible on a safari. Be sure to visit it some time even just the two of you (only possible for a single hour each day).
All calves are raised for eventual integration with a herd on the wild.

As a Kenyan in Canada, I miss the roast beef that needs no barbecue sauce or even still tasty just boiled plain, unlike any Canadian/American beef which is so tasteless you can't eat without sauces or cook without plenty of seasoning.
Most food in North America is tasteless loll.

I had a very troubled night the first time I went to Carnivore. My tummy could not just digest the differnt kinds of meats until the early hours of the morning.
