The master one of the greatest song 🎵 ✍️ and arranges of all time, James Calloway ,and most of all his cousin Sonny Davenport!!!! One of the best rthyem sections that ever existed!!!!!!
@@jediknightdiscomike22 Gt Great, I got most of Ayers records, lots of Leroy B's but that double album anthology has most of his best stuff. Seen them both in London. They love the uk. Hereto Hutson is another living legend.
I mean, its master LEROY FREAKIN BURGESS rockin and feelin it all the way while sitting in a chair wearing a under armour jacket, cant get better than that
Here is a man with no problem at all getting in the groove. Even on a backing track in some basement ... his energy is amazing. Honestly ... seen a number of interviews with him on YT so nice to just see his talent.
Me too!!! I have been listening to him since birth and found his name on a Ron Trent house track and it made me do a deep dive on his name and I couldn't believe all his tracks i already knewwwww
@@keshidalayone580 Ain't it grand? To me instances like this is like finding money in your pocket! You feel like a winner and blessed that what you were looking for was there all along 😀
lets do it do it= this tune is a bommmbbb, Leroy burgess the master boogie, Big respect to this man who cooked for us great music. love you leroy. Algeriafunk
I was 5 when this song came out..it was 1980...it was on the SAM label...my mother WORE THIS OUT!!!!! GREAT Memories! U heard this in a car passing and it unlocked a long long memory and song! This is a classic!
Wow, this is another TH-cam hidden diamond. A lot of people love this song, but don't know the title or who made it. In order for it to come up in search they should add "(Convertion - Let's Do It)." I found this video because while viewing "Convertion - Let's Do It" another commentator said the singer was Leroy Burgess of Black Ivory. I looked up Leroy Burgess and this popped up, Luck Me! It's so wonderful to see the talent that this man exudes. Simply inspiring, that he still has it 35 years later. Really amazed by Mr. Burgess, first the slow love songs with Black Ivory, then Covertion and Let's Do It, and if I remember right, another Black Ivory hit "Mainline." This video warmed the heart of this old soul dancer. Enjoyed it immensely.
I just came to know about him and his group Aleem not too long ago. I absolutely loved ALL of his music from the past with Aleem. I hear Keith Sweat, Archie Bell all in his voice. Love them All.
Leroy, Patrick Adams and Gregg Carmichael were the true New York sound makers of "groups" such as Black Ivory, Fantastic Aleems, Convertion and Logg. They produced and arrange many other dance tracks for other front man singers. Before House music (circa 1983 Chicago) there was the Dance music meccas of Philly and NYC of the 70s and early 80s.
Don't you like it, don't you like it......? No Leroy, i absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think his music and vocal arrangement skills are up there with Quincy...really. Listen to the stuff Quincy did in the later 70's and 80s. Leroy's stuff is right there with it...hell some of it is arguably even hipper, musically :-)
If you look at his discography, it would be hard to not give him the title King of Disco. I can't think of anyone else who comes close. His voice is NOT the same though.
yea on his voice..you can tell he realizes he wont be able to hit some notes..but i still love him, and he could still sing to me anytime.. i wish a bio would be done about him. he has done so much, ( still doing) what a talent
yea under name convertion he did a lot of stuff besides-black ivory..( if you are old enough to even know about that)(lol) also fantastic aleems( fine young tender, hooked on your love, get down friday night and a slew of other artist...
This is the beginning of what we call deep house music.
