It’s Nov 2024 and this set is still by far one of the best from Boiler Room! Nightmares on Wax definitely providing some of the smoothest tunes! Brilliant set!
I know a DJ is known by his library, but this guy is over the top. He's got "It's my house" by Diana Ross from 1979, and "Slow hot wind", which was done by Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66, all mixed in with the new stuff. I remember these songs because I'm 70 years old, but he doesn't look like he was even born when those songs first came out. Very impressive! And as many others have said, this is a session that I have been listening to over and over for several years.
This deserves to be on a vinyl. I heard the set first time in maybe 2016 and I can't even count the number of times I've come back to it. Boiler Room, give us the set on vinyl!
Me too! I found it in 2014 when I was in college doing graphic design projects. I’d put it on repeat as a timer at 9:00 am since my work was due at 12 so after 2 loops I had about 10 minutes to save, pdf, and submit. I’ve probably listened at least 500x at this point and it’s still great for working, studying, driving l, and relaxing.
First picked this set up 8 years ago and it still sounds fresh in 2022. I've had the plesure of being at one of his gigs and he never fails, he's everything a DJ should be, he knows his music old and new mixing 'em like a blender, a dying trade.
I have watched this all day everyday for like 2 weeks. I think the DJ is so stylish as he never stops feeling the music and being the music. The folks in the background are fun to watch over this hour and a half. They kick in and groove, tapping their toes or nodding their head. Then they go back to checking their cell phone or chatting. This all such wonderful art.
actually, the best of sets. it might be the best set on youtube. this is based on a few criteria: originality, diversity, crate diving, groove, keeping interest for such a long time, musical intelligence and journey throughout the set. this man is very good. I will not say talented, because this implies that he does not work hard (and the word itself means very little at the moment).this man has obviously worked a great deal to present an elegant, thoughtful, masterful and beautiful mix and shames everyone that does not strive and elevate. My greatest of accolades and appreciation, Mr.Evelyn. You are a stellar light that guides us all. Thank you
A true artist. Deserves to be considered one the the best of his generation. Either on the decks or in the studio the man just has it. Sent me on journey one night at Glastonbury that I probably haven’t ever come down from.
My wife and i listened to this mix the same year we got married, loved it so much we had Diana Ross it`s my house as our wedding dance. We are still happily married and still love this mix!!!!!!
Help, I started listening to this and now all other music is unsatisfying. I've had this on loop for the last 3 weeks and it is starting to damage my interpersonal relationships. The transition from Slip & Do It to Just Havin' Fun is the only thing that makes sense to me anymore. I'm struggling to focus at work, and my children are complaining that there is no food in the refrigerator.

An exemplary piece of mixing/DJing/"turntable-ism". There is also a history lesson in this set list; mixing old funk, soul, modern street soul, hip hop, and a splash of Diana Ross too! Utterly enlightening.

2021 and still coming back to this. Timeless.
An exemplary piece of mixing/DJing/"turntable-ism". There is also a history lesson in this set list; mixing old funk, soul, modern street soul, hip hop, and a splash of Diana Ross too! Utterly enlightening.
M.J Edwards ..well said a real master class in djing
