    The camaraderie with your buddies makes these trips even more enjoyable and you've got all the toys to do it right!! I can see the advantage of having a pin-pointer now, esp. with the coil size of

    I’ve been watching you vlogs for a while now, I find them fascinating. I imagine that prospecting is your hobby rather than full time work, though you do appear to be pretty successful.
    I was in the Merchant Navy and frequently visited Hobart, one of my favourite ports in Australia. My daughter lives in Perth, which is very nice but too hot for me. I enjoy your shots of the country, so largely unspoiled, which in this day and age is pretty remarkable. I live in UK, which has beautiful countryside, but not in vast areas. Keep the vids coming, and good luck

    G'day from a sunny but cold Sydney. I've just subscribed to your channel. In my twenties, I was a field geologist for De Beers diamond mines in South Africa. Spent a few years searching for Kimberlitic Pipes in the Kalahari desert and found a couple of big ones. Just out of interest, how much gold do you reckon you find in an average year in terms of monetary value in Aussie dollars? Could one survive on living off full time prospecting?

  • @nessasarahlee3298
    @nessasarahlee3298 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Summer flash floods can leave gold high & dry in the top layer until the subsequent winter pushes of water move it on or work it deeper.
    My local creek dries up all summer but we had a big flash flood so until recently I'd been cherry picking gold from all the little gravel piles left behind.

    • @officialtassieboysprospecting
      @officialtassieboysprospecting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s cool it’s the first time I’ve had it high up like that unless I’ve been working mullock heaps it’s nice not to have to dig to bedrock for a change

    • @nessasarahlee3298
      @nessasarahlee3298 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@officialtassieboysprospecting this year was the first time I'd experienced it also.
      Gold was where it normally wouldn't be.
      Indicators of a flash flood are narrow gouged out channels to bedrock & very loose piles of gravel left behind by a very sudden drop in water level.
      Winter floods will eat away piles of gravel as the water level drops more gradually & fill in the gouged out channels.

    Hello my friend good job.
    Very nice digger but not for bedrock!
    A regular pick spade and a crevice tool.
    It’s not the detector it’s the operator and knowledge.
    Where are your headphones?
    You cannot learn what you cannot hear!
    I understand how extremely hard it is on headphones when you’re doing that type of detecting.
    Nuggets are deep down at the bottom to the cracks most of them you cannot hear with the detector.
    Nuggets stand on end in bedrock very hard to hear that’s why you pick the cracks out that are good looking like sniping it’s good that you keep moving you can always go back with the right tools the more spot you go to and cover the more spot you’ll have .
    The old timers rock walls very good signs and mean a lot and I know they have trash around them!
    This is a new type to you you did very good to find what you found .
    Remember the old timers work by hand like you but they didn’t have detectors gold is underneath all the overburden but don’t stop moving find more spot you can always go back.
    Not many people do this type of mining and go to these links very physical but your chances of finding extremely good spot you’re good the more you learn the bigger nuggets you’re gonna ...
    You’re still gonna have to do a lot of digging and rock stacking will get in these techniques later.
    Your gold theory is wrong except if you were chasing flood goldAnd just a few other exceptions usually when old-timers messed with it or mother nature but it’s very small.
    Gold does not move not far unless there’s an event.
    How do all these little creeks and feeder creeks get cleaned out?
    How did the boulders that way 100 tons get in these oddball spots?
    Mother nature is powerful when these creeks feeder creeks get plugged up with trees and debris in the topsoil comes down to the shores trees grow real big we get unusual weather event your mother danger creates a damn and everything coming down the creek will add to it it’ll startTo push that stuff all the way to bedrock and you will and then it will start to move in the steps in front of it will add up the boulders the rock piles the outcroppings every tree and its path will be blown off that’s when gold moves that’s why you get these l deposits In these large flats and open spots.
    As you know there’s so much to learn!.
    And there are thousands of different types of deposits we’re trying to concentrate on where you’re at at this particular time and how to figure it out .
    You’re a fast learner and you’re headed in the right direction!
    Remember research!
    Follow the old timers!
    Travel light Cover ground!
    Even if you don’t find gold what does this do it adds to your gold knowledge.
    Gold knowledge that’s what’s gonna find the gold not the type of detector that you run and you may walk right past pounds and pounds of gold sitting right on the surface.
    Don’t think you’re missing anything when you have the knowledge you will remember them spots even though you didn’t find any gold

    Tasmania, what an amazing place to live, wow! So Levi, these creeks that you work so hard to get to and find gold, are these lands public or what? Because in so many places around the world people own everything. So, in Tasmania there are no strict laws when it comes to prospecting like in these areas you go to? I love the videos but it just makes me curious. Because it doesn't seem that where you are in Tasmania that there are tight regulations.
