Do you mark down the location of your finds, ie bullets and then research whether it was a documented battle. Just curious as to the history behind the area.
Broke the handle on my Vanquish 440 last month, falling over a log, in the creek!! It saved my face ! It still works fine, i just had to make a couple of ajustements with the handle, that i clipped onto the shaft! (Allen Key needed) Cheers!

Amazing to think about a battle having been right there...and you are able to find bullets and mine balls today. Hope you have read the Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane who brings Civil War times alive.

I did my research and knew there was Civil war Activity at this site, so when I got that signal I figured it was a bullet, based on the sound and numbers from the metal detector , this is something i've learn from doing this over 12 years. I get good at guessing haha. Thanks for watching!

I actually went to ur website for a Garrett AT Pro metal detector 3 years ago n ordered one. Unfortunately bills have to be paid so I had to sell it. I did find a bunch of coins n a 14KT Men's size 11 gold ring. Keep on hunting.

I gotta ask, im from the UK and the laws are very strict on what you can and cant do with metal detecting. Are the laws more relaxed where you are from in the USA? I understand you will need permission, but in a stream or small river do the laws still apply?

I have a question or two. Is there anyway to tell the difference between civil war round balls, and modern ones for muzzle loader hunting? Minnee balls or anything above .50 would be without a doubt civil war or there about, but .36, .44, .45, and .50 are used today. I am asking because I am looking for a local place where a skirmish took place. The next question is have you ever found a Whitworth hexagonal bullet? I imagine they are very rare.
